I would like to turn off the Charging LED as this is pretty annoyning when I'm sleeping.
The only thing which solved my problem partially was gravitybox. Yet it only disables the charging LED but not the LED when the phone is fully charged.

I don't think that possibility exists on the op3.

I've searched and learned that Samsung phones have a "feature" that when the battery is fully charged, the phone will vibrate and the LED will blink or stay on. IDK cuz I sleep through this but my wife has been awoken by it 2 of the 3 nights at 3am since I got this awesome phone and she tells me this.
I see that there's an app for the GS2's to eliminate these notifications (although some claim the phone still vibrates) but I have not found anything really helpful about this in the Nexus forums on multiple sites. Besides the obvious solution of not charging the phone through the night, is there anything else I can try? I keep my phone on silent and I have sleep mode activated for Light Flow fwiw.
Uhh. The Galaxy Nexus doesn't vibrate and blink its LED at full charge, this is not a feature this phone has. You must have an app doing it.
hmm, I guess it was Light Flow... but I know for sure I disabled the battery charged notification completely before last night and when I did have it on, I never had vibrate enabled just the LED. I guess I'll have to experiment. Thanks for quick reply.

Surely was Light Flow (or another notification app). Easy to test.
Hi, is a 3rd party app required to get my LED light to blink when charging? At the moment, when I'm plugged in the light stays off, both while charging and when fully charged. In CM I could have sworn there was a battery charge option in Settings > Display > Pulse Light Notifications, but there doesn't seem to be anything there on this ROM. Would love to avoid installing something like Light Flow if it's avoidable, thanks!

No, this option is not available on 3.99
Got it, thanks for the quick reply!
Also the phone gets hot during charge. Got it today, is the flashing red light normal during charge?
Yeah mine blinks red too.. Im pretty sure thats normal when its charging. Itll turn a solid green when its done. My G4 gets hot while charging only if the screen is on or if i have alot of background apps open while charging.
It's at 100% and now the green light is flashing. This is normal???
you can turn it off in settings
OK, but is this normal?
Please just want to make sure the unit is not defective.
Normal, mine fades in and out.
Also, if I receive a text/email/other notification, then the LED will switch over to a different color/pattern to alert me of the notification, as intended. This will happen instead of the orange pulsing LED "charge" mode. So if you glance at your phone while plugged in and charging, but it's not displaying the pulsing orange LED charge mode, that could be OK too so long as you have a notification.
If you clear the notification, the phone will go back to pulsing orange charge LED. I think this is a dumb design feature, because if you happen to glance at your phone the LED could be dark/blank because it's in-between notification pulses after you got a text or whatever. So you can't tell at that moment whether the phone is unplugged and not charging, or just between blue pulses of the notification LED, and you'd have to wake up the phone to check.
Instead they should keep the orange LED on any time the phone is charging, even if you get a notification, and then they could momentarily pulse the LED from orange to blue for the notification. Dumb to switch it to off/blue even while charging.

I agree, I think it's strage to make the charging light look like a notification is waiting to be checked,
I thought my battery was faulty because a few times when I unplugged and then re-plugged, the light would stay red, then start flashing after about 10 seconds. and sometimes it didn't even do that, it just started flashing. And this morning when It was charged to 100%, it was green but still flashing, not a solid light like you'd expect.
I would have thought more people would be confused by this, considered every phone ever has a solid charge light, not flashing.
So everybody that owns a G4, when their phone is on the charger the red light blinks?
Mine is.

I received my ne LG G4 phone today and am charging it. Instructions say it takes 12 hours to fully charge, but I have a green light after about an hour. What does this mean?

Green means fully charged.

I think it's the same for all.
I have a H815 and I have a similar issue. When I plug it in at 0% red LED blinks for 10 seconds without charging. Then it turns back to normal animation and charges. Maybe the battery got old?
Does the Notification LED light up when the phone is charging? Mine appears totally dead - no charging indicator, no notifications, no nuthin.
But then late last night I started getting notifications but still no charging indication.
Luckily I just got the shipping e-mail regarding my replacement phone.
My notification LED lights up when I get a notification, but not when the phone is charging.

Works for me
It works for me with Lightflow for all notifications, charging lights, etc.. You can set blinking rates and brightness levels.

LightFlow works for me too but it screws with the Ambient Display feature. I'd like to use both but with LightFlow it causes the Ambient Display to active for what seems like no reason at all.

Light flow works for me too but I notice when quiet hours are on in light flow, the LED still lights up. Seems that quiet hours in the light flow app turn off light flow but just cause Android system to control the LED again....

Hello.
Is there supposed to be a light for when the device is charged?
Mine shows no notification of either plugged in and charging, or when at 100%?
Cheers
you should see a lightning bold in the battery icon when charging
Yeah, cheers.
I was meaning with the screen off. All my other Android phones had a notification light when charging (ie red, then turned green once fully charged).

use this app

I had assumed there would at least be a sound considering the 3rd setting in my screen shot, but there's not.
As for light flow, I used it a lot on my N5, but I tried it on my 5X and there were some issues.
First, there's the persistent notification... It's the way LF uses to keep the app running in the foreground, but there's a LF notification always in the pull down AND that screws with ambient display. If you turn that setting off in LF, the app stops working within 20 minutes of the screen being off, defeating the purpose of having a light blinking to let you know it's charging.
Second, not so much LF's issue, but you can't make the LED light up certain colors like orange. Regardless of shade, it all comes out yellow.
I'm really surprised that Google didn't add something for a charging indication using the LED...
Yeah, cheers for that.
At least I know its not just my device.
