Kickstarter Campaign for a laptop shell - Superbook - HTC 10 Accessories

Came across this kickstarter campaign a couple of weeks ago. And thought people might be interested here. Definitely think the HTC 10 is capable of replacing a tablet. Unfortunately the deadline for the project is only a few days away so anyone who wants to jump on board will have to do so quickly. But I've been waiting for a device like this for a while now! Check out the link below!

Came to this sub-forum looking for a new phone case, ended up backing a Kickstarter for a laptop shell.

I backed the project too, and I really hope it works well with the HTC 10, as it's the phone I decided to pull the trigger on! Hope it works well for you guys too, cause it's a really cool project.

XDA gives confidence in Android

I am new to xda-developers.com. I found this place because I wanted to try out android before getting an android phone. You see I am a IPhone user for 4 years. Don't get me wrong the integration of IPhone is sweet and even now do not see such amazing integration in Android. But I'm not a brand bigot.
So recently I purchased a Nook Color. I did this because I saw it as the least expensive choice for a capacitive touch screen tablet other than IPad. Keep in mind IPS screen is important to me, I'm a pro photographer and developer.
The reason I could make this step is xda-developers. I brought my Nook home and rooted it to phiremod v6 in the first 30 minutes. Added some things I like (angry birds, miren browser, flash 10, bible and some others).
So far the experience has been acceptable and I am learning each day. But what gives me confidence is the xda-developer network. It give me a good feeling that I will not be abandoned by hardware vendors as I have in the past (apple updates for years before finally reducing features to old phones).
All you guys rock. Keep up the good work. Soon I hope to get up and running on a development system (as soon as I can run the dev env in a virtualbox).
I am now carefully looking at the dell streak 5 (don't laugh I like the large screen).
Nice comments. XDA is a great site lots of committed techies sharing their knowledge......awesome........ I got the color nook as well cause I wanted for my 4 yr old . Now I love that thing so much fun to mod.
I like the 5" screen as well fits my hands and easier to see on it. Just wish it had a better op system..............still waiting for the S2
I notice that there is a lot of streaks on ebay for a good price. Is there a new version coming out? Just haven't seen any news/rumors about that.
XDA converted me from blackberry's to droids
I loved my streak try it out i dont figure a new one will be out for awhile! I now have a galaxy tab even bigger lol!
I was thinking the same thing (as the originator of this thread).
I got my first Android phone maybe 3 weeks ago, and since then I've used maybe 8 ROMs, each of which has its own strengths, and I was having a hard time deciding which to settle on...until...I tried Royal Ginger.
It looks and acts pretty much 100% like Cyanogen, but it doesn't have the 3G/4G connectivity problem of Cyanogen. In other words, it's freakin' bad-ass, and works 100%.
Anyway, like everyone else said, I would like my phone MUCH less without you people.
So, thanks.

[BETA] Aluminum Case design for HTC ONE - Looking for couple/few Beta Testers

EDITED for UPDATE:
BETA CLOSED - Thanks to everyone for your interest and comments!
The Badasscase for the HTC ONE has been Released - Picture below!
End of EDIT
Hello XDA Members!
I am looking for a couple people to beta test a PROTOTYPE version of my cases for the HTC ONE.
Interested in people who can provide detailed feedback, enjoy experimenting, and hopefully have some knowledge of building/fabrication/hard core tinkering, etc. - Also, "vision" is a major plus... what I mean is if you are the type of person who sees and old, rusty, beat up classic car... and you immediately visualize the "Showcar" in your mind.
This is limited to the USA for shipping costs (which I will cover) and you absolutely MUST own the HTC ONE.
Social media nuts, bloggers, reviewers, would also be a plus.
I will be posting some pictures of the prototypes on Monday or Tuesday, and am also looking for feedback here on the different designs I have going so far.
If interested, shoot me a PM and please let me know a little bit about yourself! I will probably not reply back until Sunday/Monday, but I will reply to everyone who inquires.
Thanks

Might be interested too. Love to see what you have in mind
I'm buying my HTC One tomorrow and I'd be totally down to testing this out.
I'm interested.
I'd wanna test it out, but I'm in Aus. What if I was willing to pay postage ?
Edit: And of course, I do have a HTC One too.
I would like to beta test! I currently have my HTC One
In Florida, ordered my Stealth Black today, definitely interested.
Update : Picked up my Glacier Silver today.
HTC One Beta Tester Application
I would like to participate!
I'm in Florida and I have my HTC One in hand and would love to help you out!!
I have my silver One in hand. I'm in PA. I've also had several aluminum cases for my various other phones, so I might be able to offer you some insight in that regard.
Definitely interested, in California, with a silver One.
Also, if it helps I have a 1983 supra restored + modded (showcar, haha)
Man this is right up my alley as a conceptual design engineer.....shame I'm in the UK.....let me know if you want any drawings thrown together......

Thanks for the overwhelming response!
Hello all,
Thanks for the huge response! I have a ton of PM's to go through and will be doing so throughout the day. I will make some decisions within the next 24-48 hours.
As far as shipping outside the US, there are a few reasons for this. Mainly the time delay involved getting it shipped/received.
From the responses, it seems some of you have not seen any of the cases I have done. I was thinking most would see my signature, but alas that doesn't show up when viewing from a phone (as far as I know). So below is a link to my facebook page (also in my sig) to give you an idea of what the case is going to be like.
In late March I prototyped the HTC ONE from pictures for this first run and have a company that laser cuts these for me. And I have 5 variations of "backs" and 2 "fronts" that I will have tomorrow. It takes a couple weeks to get parts from my vendor, so I have to be quick with my designs!
Since having my ONE, I have made some adjustments to the design, and will be double checking everything tomorrow with the first set of prototype parts. I will be sending off "version 2" later this week for a small production run in order to have product ready and available as quickly as possible for an upcoming trade show.
What I am looking for in testers, is mainly someone who can and will do some of the following.
Testing signals - Network/Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS/NFC etc.
An example, GPS - Let your significant other drive, while you have your ONE in the case and another similar android phone (no case) set to the same destination. During this trip, take notes of both phones if/when they lose GPS lock, how long it takes to reestablish GPS lock. Any differences between the two devices should be noted.
Also, as a control, run the same route, with both phones without a case taking the same notes to compare. With case/without case.
My main concern it signals. I do not want the case to degrade the ability of the phone in any way!
In my current production case for the HTC EVO 4G LTE (Full Back), the only issue is NFC, which is non-functional because of the aluminum back. For this reason I created an "open back" version to have a fully functional device. I prefer to have just one version for the ONE.
I will of course be running a multitude of tests myself, but am looking to compare my experience with a few other users to ensure a perfect product!
Also, I know some of you will be able to provide ideas/feedback that I might not think of. I do not plan to change much in my physical designs, but might do so according the feedback I receive.
Again, thanks for all of the PM's and I will be getting back to everyone within the next day... in the meantime, check the facebook page to see a few of the EVO LTE cases!

Thanks for the new phone, XDA members.

A few months ago, I was fed up with being three updates behind. I'd made the mistake of buying my GalNex from Verizon. (Obviously, thinking I'd be all "pure Android", "on Googles developer phone", and "get my updates straight from Google.") I know better now and I'll buy my Nexus from Google next time. So, back on topic, the only CFW experience I've had has been with my PSP and Wii. I don't know how many times I've visited, gotten intimidated by the amount of information, and left. One evening, I was especially fed up with Verizon and I hit XDA hard. I read everything I could find, took notes, drew diagrams, and finished up by asking a few questions. A week later, I was on my first custom recovery and ROM...and it felt like a brand new phone. It was faster, smarter, and prettier! Tablet mode even gave me a bigger screen...who would have thought loading a ROM would give me a bigger screen. Haha. (If you've used it, you know what I mean.) I've bounced around between a few different builds but for the last month-or-so, I've stuck with the PA builds.
Anyway, I wanted to thank the dev's and the forum members for contributing your time. I'm in good shape now and I finally feel like I'm getting that Nexus experience I was hoping for.

android based light switch?! maybe awesome!!

Admins, how do i delete this i found a better place for it on the forum? Can you please remove it i cannot figure it out.
'http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/491880/emal/4784946'So searching through sites like kickstarter i found this android based light switch.
Found this touchscreen lightswitch with wifi that's trying to get funded today.
The nLine model looks very promising and i already have ideas of IFTTT to notify via my house lights. I hope this gets funded in fact have already funded it some myself. i got the $75 early bird for the nline switch and a usb outlet. The idea behind this looks great and i just wanted to share this in case no one else has.
Hope this is the right place to post to. Admins feel free to move this or even remove it if I'm completely in the wrong here. It just looks like a very neat invention to me. What do you all think? I read something about a source code being released once they go into production so the android device could be modded or new software added.

[Q] Arrow smartwatch..?

Hey guys,
(I'm sorry that this isn't about the moto 360, but I didn't know where to put this thread otherwise.)
I saw the Arrow smartwatch on the internet somewhere and it just looked awesome. But I haven't heard from it for months now, I started to wonder if it was actually real, and if it would ever be released. Searched everywhere but couldn't find a thing.
So I was wondering, do any of you guys know something about the Arrow smartwatch? (Release date, price, etc..)
I already contacted the company itself but they don't respond..
[btw, the website looks pretty legit..]
Never heard of it, but it look pretty sweet
I followed this Campaign. They launched on IndieGogo and Kickstarter and both Campaigns were removed after launch.
It looks like they only have 3D renders available but they never created a real working prototype.
The idea itself it brilliant but even on their Facebook page, the last update is of September 2014 so I truly believe that the project sink or somehow it was a sort of scam for Crowdfunding which has never been released.
Four years later I got the Arrow watch. It is Android based but does not use Wear OS. Also it is 5gb not 8gb as originally intended. Camera works well and swivel feature to move camera is great. Hope that XDA developers crack into it.
