So I checked my battery stats. This can't be right can it? Android os 80 percent?

You have not giving any info that can be used to help you
NOTE 3
Download better battery stats & wakelock detector, they should help you narrow down the culprit(which I suspect is mediascanner or a rogue app).

Yep that's not at all normal. As has been mentioned, download Better Battery Stats and see what's causing it. Under normal usage "Screen" should by far be the biggest battery consumer.

Noticed some battery drain on my G3. Then saw this. What the hell!
CPU states are normal.
Help very much appreciated. Thanks

Sorry for bumping this bit just checking to see if anyone can help before I wipe everything and reset my phone!
Thanks again.

You may want to download wakelock detector from the play store to see exactly what app/process is causing wakelocks.
Yeah use wake lock detector for some reason better battery stats doesn't work correctly with this phone

Thanks guys. I'm probably being an idiot, but how do I know which specific app is causing the wakelock?

Go to Partial Wakelocks to break down the PowerManagerService wakelocks
I experienced battery drain during night times. When I went to sleep last night I got 54% of charge left but when I woke up today I got only 21. The phone was in airplane mode and I have cleared all the running apps what might be the reason for such a drain???

There's an app called wakelock detector in the google play market, I dont think you need to be rooted. Wakelocks are things in apps that trigger them to turn on. So presumably, the more wakelocks=worse battery.
But that app requires root for Kit Kat os. Is there any other alternative methods?

If it's not rooted, start with apps. It's very likely it's an app thats bugging. It's not signal or autosync stuff as you said it was in airplane mode.
Ive been using it for 4 days now and not too happy about battery life, came from using a Zte Zmax and that phone would last me all day till night time so is it my phone defective or anyone having the same issue? Is it normal? Im not rooted by the way

with heavy usage I get a around 5hrs. With moderate usage I get 8hrs. Yeah the G3 battery life isn't great but it's still a good phone. What are your stats?

it might give you a few more minutes but not a significant change. It's the big screen and all the pixels that kill the battery. It's just how the phone is.

Without trying to be sarcastic, don't let the phone fall to 5% . That's best.
I don't know if there's a way around that. I've never been that low.

Only problem is it stays at 1 percent on a dim screen forever and I cant get android to properly create a battery stats file to maintain a battery of this size, Ive had it for weeks.
