I have a one x, which uses the same krait processor, and among the myriad of problems, the most annoying is the lag and poor responsiveness when swiping on the tiles. It visibly lags behind when I touch it. The animations are not smooth and the tile pops up noticeably later after touching them. This causes a lot of errors and missed tiles. I have to move deliberately slowly and push down with some pressure. The rest of the game is buggy as hell to, like hangups and triggered sounds and crashes. The score counter is always screwed up, not showing the word count for one person or the other, probably because its not optimized for HD screens. My old galaxy s ii had the same lag problems, and now my newly arrived galaxy note also has the same atrocious lag problems. I can get 30-40 words more on my old ipad 1, since it is very smooth and I can let my fingers fly, either in original size or upscaled.
Has anyone tried the game on an SGS3? Are the lag problems a symptom of the android version in general? While I'm at it, I'd like to complain about how choppy the animations and panning are in words with friends.

Hello, yes.. on all android devices, scramble runs horribly especially in the end of the game where it shows which words you've found. The scrolling is beyond slow. I have a nexus 7 tablet and it runs pretty slow as well especially compared to my iPhone 4S. I love android.. but some of the apps just can't compare.
The developers of the app are to blame. They chose to cheap out on the android version, making a horrible port from iOS.

Hi Guys,
Recently reverted back to Android from iOS. I have had low end and mid range Android devices for development purposes as well as a Windows Phone devices all the way through.
Since taking up the HTC M8 as my day to day device, I have been noticing issues (teeth grindingly frustrating issues) regarding touch screen accuracy and responsiveness.
A prime example of this is when using a browser (Any browser, on both GPE and Sense editions). When making a pinch to zoom gestures, my fingers can move almost half an inch apart before the actual zoom process begins. I have tested this on a Samsung GS4 and found this not to be the case on that device. I believe the root cause of this problem is also behind the poor accuracy when typing on *any* keyboard (i find myself re-writing words again and again despite the larger screen size, you'd expect larger on screen keys would equal less frequent miss stokes...). Again this is not the case on the GS4.
I have used a multitouch testing tool to gauge some measure of response time and touch latency. I have found when moving points at any rate of velocity they begin to lag quite substantially behind my finger. I don't know if this is part of the same problem.
I am wondering if anyone could shed light on whether this is an issue with display touch sensitivity settings, something which could be changed at the kernel level or a limitation with the hardware itself,
Is it also possible that the same algorithm used to detect and handle touch for devices with smaller screen real estate is still being used and that the distances and tolerances for touch and gesture recognition are acting proportionally to the screen size.
Hopefully this is something we can fix, it makes the device tiresome to type with and feel clunky and unresponsive.
The screen on this phone has a higher touch response then the iPhone

Go in a store and check out another phone. If yours turns out to be defective (which should be the case), you should get it replaced

No issues with mine.it's better than iPhone5s I had. Which had some issues sensing touch on corners of display

If you have just moved from the iPhone, then this is a slight orientation problem ... and actually the M8 is the nearest you can get in terms of responsiveness to an iPhone, thanks to the fastest screen response time on the market ... for keyboard, you need to deliberately slow your finger speed down for few days and then you get used to it ... Screen/phone size also play a part in your typing because your mind can remember sub-consciously how much finger movement to do for typing ..
All the above is assuming you were an avid typist for long time on an iPhone

Thanks for all the replies, it is likely that its a transitional issue alright. But before i write it off as such, can anyone verify the issues regarding pinch to zoom? Just trying to figure out if it is a faulty device i have on my hands or not
I get the exactly the same issues. I really thought it was me .
However I had the HTC One M7 and had no issue whatsoever.
LG G2 also same no issues .But since getting
HTC One M8, the touch accuracy is well absolutely useless. I am forever correcting what I type.
I don't think its the hardware but something to do with the Algorithm..No matter what keyboard you use or calibration you do. doesn't make any difference
I am hoping that lollipop cures this problem..
My touch accuracy has always been great. I'd say that if yours isn't it's a hardware problem.

I tried the m8 and iphone 6 instore and compared them. The m8 screen is very sensitive, requiring minimal touch to be activated. This may be why tests are showing that the m8 has a faster touch response. However, when dragging your finger along the screen, such as swiping launcher screens, the iphone is more responsive.
I then tested "show touches" on the m8, the touch lags behind my finger.
I have the 6P and find the size too big. I'm thinking of switching over to the 5X and have a few questions:
- Do you notice any lag when scrolling through apps or in certain parts of the OS? My main concern lies with Instagram and Facebook - do you get choppy scrolling in those apps?
- How's the build quality? Do you get any creaks when slightly applying pressure to different areas of the phone? Concerned about the plastic flexing.
- How do you find the speaker quality on the single speaker?
That seems about it for now. If there's any key thing to be concerned about that I didn't mention, please let me know.
Thanks!
Just did a bunch of scrolling with those two apps and no choppy or stutter scrolling. My main slowdown I experience would be in Chrome and the camera app. But I hear even the 6P gets camera app slowdown issues as it's an app problem.
Build quality is solid. If you squeeze hard enough you can probably force a creak but that's cause it's plastic. A little twisting doesn't make a sound. There's a very, very minimal rattle somewhere in the phone if you shake hard enough. I think I read somewhere it's a spring in the SIM card slot. Could be right as with no SIM it was even louder. And for comparison, my Galaxy S5 had a lot of rattle I'm the volume buttons when shaken.
The single front facing speaker is pretty mediocre. Lacks range but gets okay volume. My Galaxy S5 rear facing speaker sounds better overall when putting the face down.

In my opinion, the speaker is at least decent. It does what it needs to and unless you're watching movies or youtube all day long, it shouldn't be a problem. I make lots of calls and the speaker phone is as good as any other device I've owned.
I went back and forth between the 6P and this phone too. If size is the biggest issue, get the 5x and you won't be disappointed. It's a joy to use.
So I recently switched to a Galaxy S22+ from a OnePlus 5t. One thing I noticed is when let's say I am to swipe through reddit up and down very fast, it doesn't feel powerful like it's not swiping up and down much faster as I am swiping up and down. Is there any option or dev option to satisfy this?
You mean to heat up the screen or what kind of power, heat or pressure maybe
I purchased a new Galaxy S21 FE a few weeks ago, and I noticed that while the screen is responsive 90-95% of the time, every so often it won’t respond to a tap or swipe, necessitating an extra prod (or a few). Whether it's not pulling down the notification ceiling when swiping, or missing a key (or space bar) when typing despite tapping it, among others.
To reiterate, it’s not a problem with the screen itself because it mostly works fine, but every so often the software interacting with the display that responds to touches seems to glitch. And it’s not connected to any specific part of the screen either. And the phone in general is fast, and there's no lag in animations so it's not a refresh rate issue either.
I should note that a few months ago I returned a new Galaxy A53 with a similar issue. And a relative of mine with the Galaxy A32 5G said she has the same problem as well.
Does anyone else experience this with the S21 FE or any other recent Samsung phones? My 2016 Samsung phone's display/touch has none of these problems, despite being slower in general due to its age, and it being from the Samsung J series.
Anyone?
I come from an s20, and I received the s21 fe this week, and I noticed a little error, in the touch. It's like sometimes he doesn't recognize the fastest or light touch in a few times.
I admit mine does not feel very precise at times. I cannot pinpoint exactly what's going on but it's like it's slippery and I do not have a great accuracy on it. It did have a problem with the screen jumping up and down when scrolling sometimes but with the recent updates, this issue seems to be solved. However I still feel it is not precise or smooth as a S21 Ultra for example.

Please report it in the Samsung members app. With more people reporting these bugs, there's more of a chance that a patch will be released.

Yes, me. Got this phone a few weeks ago and have noticed it randomly not responding to a tap, pinch or swipe. Exact symptoms as you.
Wondered if this was a known issue with Samsungs or not and whether there was a software patch for it.
Any luck?
+1
I already wrote about it somewhere.
Often I have to double-click first or press a button, then a fingerprint will work. I can't find when this occurs. And I'm sure, this comes in December with Android 13.

Actually, in my case it seems to have gotten a little better after the Android 13 update, but it's still a problem.
I was adamant that this issue was the device itself. But funnily enough, having removed the glass screen protector, the problem has disappeared.
It must've been that layer interfering with touch recognition.

In my case removing the protector doesn't help.
I don't use a screen protector on my phone.
I am having the same issue anyone got any fix?
