Hi.
I got the following doubts about recharging:
1) What if I charge the phone with a standard 5V/1A recharger? It's all ok? No problems at all?
2) If the answer to the previous answer was yes, can I use the original OP3 cable with the 5V/1A charger?
3) What if I use the original cable + original charger with a Custom ROM (since they don't support dash recharging)?
Thanks.
1. No problems at all using a regular 5V/1A charger.
2. Yes, you can use the dash charger cable, again with no problems at all.
3. I haven't gone down the custom root yet but you'll only get the standard rate of charging. There's a thread about this somewhere.

So I recently upgraded from a Xperia Play, which I've been using a 6ft usb cable from Monoprice to charge along with the original OTG wall outlet adapter. After upgrading and plugging in the Note 2, I've noticed that while it says "charging" it never actually goes up in charge, and seems to only SLOWLY go down in charge. My assumption is that the cable is only supplying a very limited charge to the device... maybe only like a quarter of the power the OEM cable does.
So now to the questions:
1- What is the reason behind this? Is there a fix where I can keep using the same cable?
2- If I can't fix it easily, is there another (preferably cheap?) 6ft cable I can buy? If so, what keywords/terms should I be looking for when making this purchase?
Many apologies if this has been answered, but I tried searching and couldn't find answers to my exact question. Links to the other threads would be welcome
Yep could be a poor cable.

Note 2 charger cable uses 2A current. ..other cables output is low. ..so charging is very slow
scribbled from "the phab" (the note 2 -N7100)
so we all know the phone will have a new super fast charging tech... the questions are
1. will it then requires special charger kit?
2. can it be charged using other devices charger?
3. what about USB charging, will it also get 'supercharged'? if so will it requires special USB port? if not then will it be like normal USB charging on other phones or what?
4. does the new charging tech have any weakness like prone to overcharging?
1. Yes, you will get a little different VOOC charger (still microUSB)
2. Yes, but you will get normal charging rate - the superfast charging will not work.
3. The answer is already in the answer 2.
4. That's hard to say, as the phone with this tech was launched 4 days ago.. Nobody got the opportunity to test it yet, however, Oppo claims it works without destabilizing the battery...
Hello
I understand that this may be a somewhat stupid question but I appreciate your patience with me.
Basically, I have a few power banks which have the CE and RoHS marks on them and they've been charging my MicroUSB devices without issue for sometime now.
However, I'm aware that there are some potential problems with certain Type-C cables and devices regarding current and the USB specification, which brings me on to my question.
Is it safe to charge the OP3 with a portable power bank and the supplied Type-C dash charge cable? I understand that obviously the phone shan't fast charge, but will it do any harm to the battery to charge it this way?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Yes, you can use the supplied cable and the power banks to charge your OnePlus 3. I charge mine with my Anker power banks and even with the solar charger. Do stay away from third party USB C cables for the reasons you've mentioned.

The original charger charges at 5V/4A. This means that the cable can handle 5V/4A. You can charge, but don't go above 5V or 4A. Hope i helped.
Thanks a lot!! I can relax now and just enjoy using the phone while travelling. )
Have been using my Zerolemon Toughjuice to charge it at times when I am travelling and it works fine. You should be good.
I am thinking about buying the Oneplus 3 since I haven't changed my phone in a long time. I have a few questions about the charging.
Is the DASH charge just the wall adapter? Do I need to have a DASH charge specific USB-C cable?
Can I get DASH charge with a regular USB-C cable to DASH wall charger? (I am asking this because I use long cables because of the location of my outlets and workstation, ~10-15ft)
If I charge with a basic, QuickCharge, or non-DASH wall adapter will my charge speeds be basic or does it revert to QuickCharge (with quickcharge adapter) because it is using the SD820 chip? Also the same question if I use a non-DASH powerbank (I only need a small powerbank not the big ones they are making)?
I am not sure if this should be place here or in the Accessories forum. Please let me know thanks.
Thanks for the help.
1. For DASH charging you need both the adapter and the cable, both are specific and AFAIK there are no aftermarket alternatives.
2. No, with standard cables you won't get DASH speeds. Wires in normal cables are simply too thin to handle high current of DASH.
3. If you're using non-DASH charger and/or cable, you'll max out at about 1.5A, so a bit less than half the speed of DASH (could be slower, depending on hardware used). QuickCharge is not supported, it'll work at standard speeds.
4. Same logic applies to power banks. And DASH capable power banks don't exist (yet?), so it doesn't really matter what bank you're using.

Sorry but ive to correct you... Vooc charger and cable from Oppo can gives you dash charger. I think its same technology they just call it VOOC ... Ive bought the oppo wall charger + cable for half price of oneplus just to have it spare. And it dash charge

Thanks for the help. So just to clarify there is no QuickCharge but I can use DASH or VOOC products correct?
Do they work the same way where when I use a DASH/VOOC charger I MUST USE a DASH/VOOC usb-c cable in order to get rapid charging speeds?
Thanks

Oh, yeah, forgot about that, thanks for correction ?
DASH *may* have some slight software differences, but hardware is the same.
Still not a lot of choice when buying stuff, but at least a bit more.

Yes, DASH and VOOC will get you full charging speed, everything else will charge at standard speeds.

Can anyone provide me a link for the vooc charger and the oppo cable? If i can save some money buying those, then better.
EDIT: nvm i found them on ebay.
Thanks for the help.
Do you know of any long DASH/VOOC cables for sale somewhere?
On a side note do you know about the Oppo VOOC power bank (6000mah) since I read Oneplus is not making a DASH power bank anymore. Have you read about its DASH use or where to buy it?

Sadly I don't think this will ever exist ... OnePlus commented about cable length and they said they can't make it longer due to technical limitations (physics ...). High current = high resistance = lower max length.

Hello,
Can you please advise on a good charging cable for p10+?
Keep in mind that what I understood is that using 3rd party charging cables on P10/P10 Plus, will not have super charge support. This is some limitation by Huawei that you must use original cable or a cable from Huawei to be able to get Super Charging to work.
Use Baseus brand cable

This is not the one I bought exactly because it has a retractable cord but it still should perform the same. I have tried it and super charging works fine.
