best miui for better ram management?? - Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Guys i wanted to know amoung miui 5 ,6,7,......which has the best ram management??just got my 1s

CM

um....no...not really... miui has as good as ram management as cm. AND somtimes a bit better ram management for me miui 8 is perfect for you. I love it. But on 4.4 (miui too) and 5.1 roms when locked, you cannot recieve messenger notifications well.... led isn't blinking or absolutely no notification....only if you open messenger. on miui you lose lot more percent of battery life when sleep compared to. other roms. except this, miui 8 is best . with phantom v7 and yankactive or zzmoove governor.

Try MIUI multi rom with neon kernel. Most of chinese stuffs has been removed and it also provide features that are not available in Global versions like Global search, etc.
CM and all other roms are custom roms so are they highly customized, MIUI Multi is too customized so give it a try. Install Neon kernel and tweak settings as per your use using kernel auditor. This will solve battert drain issue.
Enjoy MIUI!

No there's isn't any music bug any more. If you still face it then go through few comments on thread on neon kernel (you can get rid of it using kernel auditor). Its latest build of neon kernal and you can get miui 8 latest developer Multi rom here http://en.miui.com/thread-81385-1-1.html. Only issue is you will need to manually download complete package every week. If you don't need update weekly then you will get ota after each month.
I found that the neon kernel is the one which supports miui as well gets update frequently. Its been a long time that god's kernel or Xcelerate kernel were update so there base is still older than latest miui base.
IF you wanna enjoy miui then yes miui+neon is too good.

You you can, you don't need to do clean wipe. If you wan to update to new version then you don't need to wipe system. Just select update package and install. Don't forget to wipe cache and dalvik cache after installing Rom or after updating. Enjoy!

As i checked now, last night it drained near to 8% or less, actually it totally depends on your settings. I set min cpu to 300mhz and max to 1305mhz and cpu governor to yankdemand. Also at night i enable miui's battery saver which doesn't allows apps to force start.
Yes you will to play and tweak a little bit as per your usage

Thanks sir.
Thanks dear dev. I will try and report. I hope we could get official support from CM. May be in near future... hope for the best.
Just flashed this rom. All is good after half an hour of testing except camera fc on 1080p. Thank you Tom for the hard work. I hope Vietnamese fulfill their promise as soon as possible.

It should be that way but I am unable to get 1080p rec work even after many restarts, fresh installs etc. I even flashed ics engg version again to make it completely fresh but same problem.
How about in call volume in this ROM? because I noticed every cm10 or cm10.1 in call volume is very low and we can't even hear other party if there is background noise like if you are on the road or in a crowded area.
on my experience with cm 10 call volume is ok , really loud
cm10.1 if you set video recording resolution to 1080 it FC...then its not as smooth as the stock rom....CM10.1 in other devices even lower specs than our device very smooth because it is supported by CM team? i flash almost 50+ custom rom in my device but im always going back to miui v4 3.2.22 because its stable and only english rom available for our device...
Can you share your experience with regards to battery life using miui v4 3.2.22

Can you provide a link for the miui 3.2.22 ROM? I would certainly want to try this. This battery life of 14-16 hours on moderate use (less than 30 mins calls, less than 1 hour screen time) is killing me. I am on CM 10.1 with the latest try3 wind kernel btw.

Found the ROM on their website. The problem is, it is based on ICS. I really like CM 10.1 because of its pure JB experience. It is great that the devs have been able to bring it to the LU6200 without official support. I just hope it gets better on battery and performance.
Can you share the link for thunder kernel and control panel suite. If so much to ask share the link also for miui 3.2.22. Currently my phone only last 1.5 days and thats its with minimal call and text. and no wifi at all

Galaxy Note 2 N7100 becoming extremely slow with custom ROMs

Hi,
I have installed Android 5 (tried both Resurrection Remix and Cyanogenmod 12) to my N7100.
At the beginning, a couple of weeks all works perfectly.
However afterwards everything gradually starts to slow down a lot. I mean everything. Opening apps, browsing, facebook, I even have to wait for a couple of seconds for the keyboard to appear when I clock to type in any field.
I have ofcourse restarted the phone, tried clearing cache (regular one and Dalvik) but nothing helps.
I can do factory reset and reinstall any of the OS-es from above but after a couple of weeks the same will start happening.
Has anyone experienced the same, any ideas?
Thx
Nope......try a stock rom
yes me too, this happened to me on every aosp based rom
Nope. I have a custom ROM already 2 months and it goes perfect.
Try with another rom.

How can I check that? I don't remember changing the kernel explicitly. Just installing the custom ROM as per usual instructions.
Install Agni kernel.
Use pegasus governor
CFQ as scheduler for both types of memory
Set LMK minfree to VERY AGGRESSIVE.
Sometimes cleanup your multitasking.
I have exactly the same on CM 12.1 Android version 5.1.1
Specs: CM-version: 12.1-20150904-UNOFFICIAL-n7100
Android version 5.1.1
Smallband version: N7100XXDMF1
kernel version: 3.0.31-CM-g21d0478
I use No-frills CPU Control, with these:
- Govenor = pegasusq
- I/O scheduler = cfq
I do use Foldermount and apps2sd because of the memory shortage on device. Free storage memory is about 1Gb.
Clean up multitasking? You mean long-click on Home and then remove all apps there? I do that on a regular basis
It would be great if someone finally has a good solution to this.

I set it in the agni kernel manager (I already recommended you to use that kernel) ...
But if you are on a stock kernel, you can try some utilities on play store, just search for "minfree"... maybe they're old, but should work.

Wow nice! For OOS?
As usual there's a large focus on battery life. F2FS is upstreamed to the latest version and I spent a couple days single picking useful commits from Qualcomm's repository with fixes and power consumption improvements.
You should see an improvement in battery life.

Great work Franco!
After a reboot, the phone boots to default color calibration and it takes like 10-20 seconds to switch to DCI-P3 or SRGB.
PS:Gestures are broken too.
The kernel is systemless?

-Current miui 9 feels like 10-15% faster than last stable miui 8.
-Ram management is still abysmal.
-Slight lag and stutter is still there(I think it's due to "ondemand governor" bringing "Interactive governor" could have solved this)
Therefore my conclusion is "cm 11 r24 still best rom out there for redmi 1s"
Proper tweaking of "ondemand governor" changing "Internal storage I/O" to "deadline"
reducing zram to 160-210 gives performence almost like cm11 r24.
Debloating the rom gives more free ram.
Can anybody post bloatware list that can be remove from miui 9 7.8.31 beta china rom? Thanks

Cm 11 r24 need to be tweaked using kernel auditor for best results. The new miui 9 beta too functions as fluid as cm 11 r24 after tweaking and debloating plus it has better animations, great battery life and material design.
The above short review I posted about miui 9 is that of the first day of my use without any tweaking and debloating.
I my self have shifted to miui 9 7.8.31 permanently today after testing it for few days

Anyone able to restore whatsapp on miui coming for 7.1.2 custom rom via titanium backup.. or if you have any other method suggest..Thanks a lot.

Better copy the "databases" folder after doing local backup. You need not rely on third party app.

Locate the "Documents" App via Titanium and un-freeze it. Then try restoring by default Documents app has been disabled for this device idk why.

The sound mod only increases the speaker volume,it wont affect headset.I wrote it by mistake in a flow but now corrected it.Those are all the screen/kcal value avilable for default kernel.

KERNEL] [LightningZap!-6/6T] [OOS 9.* / Pie Custom ROMs]

What is LightningZap! kernel?
It is a lightweight, yet heavily tweaked and optimized kernel geared towards balancing performance and battery life.
Please read this ENTIRE post before downloading and flashing LightningZap! kernel.
Disclaimer: As with all custom kernels, you flash at your own risk. Always make a backup! I nor the associates of LightningZap! kernel, Teamfahq, or the testers group cannot and will not take responsibility for YOUR actions. I cannot always control what works and doesn't work with ROMs other than my own. If there is a bug, feel free to report it with logs, but note that the problem may be due to a conflict with coding int the ROM. If said condition exists, please discuss the concern with said ROM developer. If a bug condition does exist within the kernel and there is a known fix for said bug, please don't hesistate to link me to that fix. Make sure to give credit, thanks, and maybe even a cup of coffee to your developers. If you have a feature request, please feel free to share it as well.
Features:
Based off ElementalX kernel by flar
blue_schedul governor from blue_spark kernel thanks to eng.st
Ondemand gov Optimized for better performance while maintaining battery life
FIOPS ioscheduler by default (suggest leavving it that way)
My insane readahead tweak **** In HDK-Mod kernel manager, it reports "Not in range." This is normal DO NOT adjust. My tweaks optimizes readahead per demand usage.****
LZ4 compression
O3 Optimizations
zram
lz-sysctl tweaks
Sound control (speaker, earpiece and mic)
Backlight min setting
Adjust or disable vibration
Advanced Color Control and K-Lapse
Block wakelocks
NTFS r/w, CIFS and NFS support
WireGuard support
Option to disable fsync
Pass SafetyNet
LightningZap! kernel will work on oneplus 6 and oneplus 6T on stock OOs and most custom roms. There are 2 versions, PIE and NDP.
Diferences
PIE was built for custom roms
STOCK was modified for stock OOS (Does not include commits to fix fps that custom roms need)
NDP was slightly modified for SkyDragonOs by removing wake gestures. Wake gestures are natviely written into SkyDragonOs (and maybe more roms).
I have not tested all roms to see what works and what doesn't. So, I would suggest trying PIE first. If wake gestures (like dt2w) do not work, try NDP. Feel free to report what rom and LightningZap! kernel version you are using.
Bug reporting is HIGHLY encouraged, but please accompany your reports with logs. I cannot do much to fix things without them. Pruning of the logs is deeply appreciated as well.
I feel that if you are here, you already know how to flash a custom kernel. If not, close this page and do some research about it first. This will not erase recovery or root when flashing. But, I would like to quote @eng.stk
Warning: If you come from other kernel or have any issues, you should dirty flash your ROM before flashing LightningZap! zip to avoid problems.
Reflash ROM -> if you want root flash SuperSU or Magisk (default, no plugins/modules) -> flash LightningZap!.
If you are already rooted or upgrading between LightningZap! versions, just flash the kernel zip. Also uninstall or clean data of any kernel control app you're using.

Here I will post what version of LightningZap! kernel works with what ROMs. As well as any noted bugs with said rom.
PIE
Most custom roms
NDP
SkyDragonOs
Stock
Stock OOS
It sounds very interesting! But a doubt that not before the SkyDragon rom was running the HolyDragon kernel? This would be the evolution of that kernel?
It sounds very promising! As soon as possible I will try it!
Thank you man!!

Thank you so much. Do you recommend sticking with schedutil, which is default I believe, or do you prefer Onedemand or Blu instead? Thanks again for the kernel, I'm checking it out now.

Everything seems great so far except one thing. Has anyone else noticed that their fingerprint sensor stopped working on OOS stable? Or could this just be a coincidence for me?

It's not going to work on OOS as he's got the FOD hacks required for functional fingerprint on custom ROMs. Doing this breaks fingerprint on OOS, and removing them will break it on custom ROMs. The only way to accommodate both currently is with two separate kernel variants.
Great work Thomas

For governor, use whatever fits your needs the most. I recommend trying all 3 to see which on egives you the most performance and battery life.

Yep... Accidentally merged those commits to the PIE branch. Running new build now. oops...
PIE branch updated. Fingerprint should be fixed now.
The New Update Is Buttery Smooth Bro Great Work Fp Works Better Than Stock Oos the only thing is the gaming performance has came down can experiencing shutter lags, and fps drops any fixes over that rest is just amazing bro .

With your favorite kernel manager app, try using ondemand governor and lowering the up_threshold value adjust the sampling rate.
Using 3D benchmark app with Sling Shot Exteme setting up_threshold at 70 (default value) OpenGL ES 3.1 scored 4632 and Vulkan came in at 4272
Dropping it to 15 (lowest possible value)
OpenGL ES 3.1 scored 4857 and Vulkan came in at 4456
Setting it to 90
OpenGL ES 3.1 scored 4337 and Vulkan came in at 4068
These are overall scores and only an example. Results may very per device.
You can also try raising the sampling_rate as well. But I think the default value is best.
Be aware when adjusting these values, your perfomance vs battery life is effected.
lower up_threshuold will increase performance and decrease battery life whereas higher up_threshold decreases performance but raises battery life. Adjusting these values too high/low can cause the device to become unstable or overheat. Make your adjustments in small increments and if you notice a significant lag or your device is starting to get too hot, you can change them back and avoid complete device failure.
And by battery life, I mean the discharge rate, not the length of time until your battery takes a poop and you have to replace it or your phone.
New download link for pie branch. New branch added STOCK.
So, as pointed out by return.of.octobot , the PIE branch fp worked but became broken after reverting the commit for fp on custom roms. So, I made a new branch for OOS only and the PIE branch is for custom ROMs.
Tried flashing this stock version kernel on OOS 9.0.17 via FK manager app and got the abort message with error as unsupported device. Please see attached screenshot and let me know if there is something I need to change.
