I recently rooted my phone, so all the settings were factory reset. No problems there (thank God).
But now my calendar always shows the forthcoming weather for each day. I have removed the 'weather calendar' turned off the show weather setting, yet it still shows.
The only calendar I have is my google calendar that is synced to the phone.
Any ideas how to get rid of the weather reports?
Ta.
Ignore this. I have sorted it. Just had to stop syncing with google, then clear the storage and restart.

Hi, I've just upgraded to a HTC Desire from a Raphael and I have the same problem, what do you mean by "clear the storage"? Do you mean perform a factory reset?
Hi all,
Today I ran into a problem with my phone, regarding synchronization of my contacts with Gmail. I wanted to share the problem and solution, since it is bound to happen to others.
NOTE: I have a Dutch phone, so when mentioning menu options and such I am bound to use the wrong terms.
What I did:
I came from a WM6 phone and migrated my Outlook contacts to my new Andriod phone. All went well, I had my contacts securely in my phone memory. Handy thing, it links all contacts with similar contacts from Gmail.
Since I do not use Outlook anymore (it now seems redundant) I worried about losing all my contacts when something happens to the phone, and wanted to migrate them all to Gmail.
I did this; downloaded an App (IuA Contact Backup I think), backed up the contacts and imported them into Gmail. After cleaning up the contactlist in Gmail it seemed to synchronize fine but it also made my contactlist slow. This is because it needs to link all contacts from different sources, which takes up a lot of processor speed. The phone contacts were now useless though, since they are all in Gmail.
So I decided to delete all Phone contacts. When I did this, I lost most phonenumbers (although they were still in my Gmail contacts). Then I noticed that synchronizing with Gmail had started failing, resulting in some drops of sweat and no clue how to restore it.
The error message was: "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." Apparently when I thought the contacts from Gmail had synchronized correctly, they had not.
What I did to solve this:
I started with a backup of all my contacts! If something goes wrong, I am not responsible for the loss of your contacts!
In Settings -> Applications -> 'Manage applications (?)' -> 'All applications' I went to something called 'Contact storage (?)'. Here I deleted all data.
After that, I restarted my phone (soft reboot, just use the on/off button with long-press and select 'Turn off'). When the phone starts again, it will start synchronizing with Gmail and all will be fine.
On various fora I found that Android does not like large amount of changes to the contacts in Gmail. If you delete (or change?) a lot of Gmail contacts before it synchronizes, I guess it cannot keep up with the changes and stops the process. This will not solve itself.
[Q] Strange calendar behaviour and syncing problem
Hey guys,
I have this very very strange issue for a few weeks right now and im getting extremly frustrated. PLEASE help.
let me explain.
few weeks ago when i left country for holidays and used my Note there i got this message every day "google.calendar.com had stopped unexpectedly". I didnt really care since i was on holidays and didnt use the phone for anything just a camera.
After i came back this message disappeared.
but here comes the real problem:
Every single day out of nothing my calendar is completly empty. all my events disappear, i cant add any event because when i press the plus button everything is empty. In settings under google sync when i press sync now, message appear that that google calendar wont sync and it says it will sync later.
When i restart the phone everything is just fine all my events are back calendar sync is working (even when i pres sync now in settings). couple of hours and again everything disappears.
Im getting very upset about restarting the phone twice a day (o use that calendar a lot).
What i tried after searching on the internet.
- I unchecked Samsung My Calendar and everything. Only my google calendar is chceked in S Planer settings. and also in Settings i turned off calendar syncing under Samsung.
- I have cleared the calendar cachce in aplications and cache of everything that i thought might somehow conect to calendar
- I have deleted all past events i dont need anymore
Im runing stock ROM and i dont have root or anything else and the phone was working for almost a year without problems.
Please help me this is insane...
And im hoping for another solution then factory reset...
Hello everyone!
Today when I tried to use my phone, I got this error message:
Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again [Force close]

I'm on Samsung Captivate Glide, AT&T version, running on Gingerbread 2.3.5, and I've never had this problem before.
From what I've gathered, it appears when:
I tap on a contact in Contacts and in Favorites (it says "No additional information for this contact"), and even on contacts saved as shortcuts on homescreen. Also when I try to Add a new contact.
However, it does let me call when I slide my finger over the contact to right.
Now, I browsed a number of threads and forums so far to see if I can't find anything to help. This is all I've tried so far:
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Contacts / Contact Storage > Clear data
I also cleared data from all google applications this way, and also from Account and sync settings, Calendar, Calendar storage, Dialer, Dialer Storage, DRM content, DRM content launcher, DRM protected content storage, Media storage as per adviced, with no luck.
A fairly common reason for this error was said to be Facebook sync, or Calendar app, but the thing is I don't even have a FB account and I don't use my phone's calendar. Similarly, it was suggested that you turn off sync, but I didn't have sync on, and I tried disabling Background data as well, but again, no luck.
With some users, problem seemed to lie in recently updated app, especially those that use the contacts. I uninstalled [Yahoo] Messenger, Google +, Whatsapp, , Drive, Skype, Twitter, and Facebook, Gmail and YouTube updates (since can't get rid of the apps themselves) and several other apps (Firefox, Cut the Rope Experiments game), but - you guessed it - to no avail.
Thing is, when I chose the option to Merge contacts with google account, it fetched all my google contacts and let me use them.
I tried saving all my contacts as Vcard list, cleared the storage and then tried to boot all contacts from the saved Vcard again. I got the same error message (I uploaded it in Attachments). I though that might be caused by some glitch in my recent contacts, so I tried to import that Vcard to google contacts, then export it again and open in phone. Same error message. To confirm it's not a problem with recent contacts, I managed to dig out an older Vcard (from last year), but it doesn't work either.
Funny thing is, when I select the option Import/Export in Contacts, I only get one option, and that's Send namecard via. If I recall correctly, there used to be more options, no...? When I first got the phone, I transferred my contacts from LG KP500 Cookie by these same namecards without any problem.
I saw some people link to some patch fix for HTC, do you think it would work on my Glide?
Tl;Dr: Out of the blue, I got an android.process.acore force close error. I can call but can't access or edit my contacts nor load namecards on GB. Tried everything advised on various fora, nothing helped.
I would appreciate any advice or even a suggestion, as I would like to avoid factory reset... Thanks
same thing here, I cannot add contacts and keep crashing - I've tried also to clear the data and stop the processes of Contacts and contacts Storage, but with now result.
I am on a Samsung Galaxy S2 running Gingerbread 2.3.5
EDIT: I can't even load my contacts back from the SD card. woooooohooooo, everything was fine and working before some app update...I don't keep track of everything after every little modification of an app, tough. please help!
Hi, do anyone experience the following issue:
Vivo V9 suddenly stop showing any events/agenda/task in my calendar.
Already tried clean the calendar app cache, restart phone, install another calendar app (I tried aCalendar), it's all without luck.
But when I check my calendar from my laptop's calendar.google.com, it's all there.
Thank you.
Got the solution already...it's seems like a bug from Vivo.
Go to Settings-Calendar-Calendar Accounts.
It's only showing "Local calendar" when it should be showing "Local calendar" AND your google calendar account.
The solution:
* Tap the Refresh button. If it works, then problem's solved.
* When tapping "Refresh" doesn't work. Tap the "Add account" - "Exchange" then try login to your google account. Go back to "Calendar accounts" screen and for me...it suddenly showing my google calendar account again.
Thank you =)
