Got my device a week ago, I use it almost 6-7 hours a day. When an app hangs, the phone just freezes, and reboots. I was watching movie in MXPlayer, all of a sudden, it rebooted. Haven't rooted yet, installed like 5-10 apps and that's it. Happens atleast once in a day, is anyone else facing this issue?
Should I return and get a new device? I can do it till June 30th.
Thanks in advance.
If u don't get the answer i would suggest that u return it while u can

Will wait for 2 more days, and then start the return process.
And I m guessing that there is some sort of bug in the os
Maybe u should try to reinstall the oxygen os via one plus flash tool..

Spoke with OnePlus live chat, they told to wipe cache, did it.
But the problem is, it restarts randomly, can't guess the time. So, have to use and see, Thanks for your reply.

probably a piece of third party software but only twice thats not too bad. Mine crashes when I first pair it to a new bluetooth 1 device.
You can read through thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006189... Maybe it will help.
Best of luck.

The think is that I am on full stock and bootloader is locked... still. My problem was Viber app / app service. It overworked my device until reboot was inevitable. Maybe you have something of the same nature.
Try apps like "CPU Spy" to find what's overworking yours... To me it happened even like 3-5 per hour... In some parts of the day... Mostly because of my traveling and network cell switching.
Try different scenarios to find out the culprit.
Best of luck.
Pushu.X
Edit: try using the phone in "safe mode" for a while. If you don't get any reboots than it's a rogue app. If you still do... than it's your phone / kernel.

Hey! I just bought 3 days ago a Note 2 and i like it v much, except 1 problem. I installed Android Rev ROM and after 1 hour of using the phone is heating (downloading apps, listening music) and it is freezes (in this time i can lock and unlock the screen, but is still unresponsive). Is a problem from the rom or is a problem on my phone?
i tested this 3 times and always is freezing in same way,
Thank you!
I except it to be SDS so if it keep freezing it is better to send it back again

I bought a phone from a guy, not from a shop and i dont have warranty . Is there any chance to have a bug fix for this, from Samsung or is a hardware problem?
Is there any custom ROM that can fix this?
Have you done standard procedure of doing a megawipe and then try flashing the rom again? Take out the memory card and use it for a bit to see if it makes any difference.

So did I.
It doesn't matter, warranty is given to the product, not to the customer. Obtain the invoice given to the guy. They have to fix it.

Download and install eMMC Check from playstore and see if the FwRev is 0fx1. If it is so, then your mobile is sds prone. If possible return it to the guy.
It is an Sudden Death Syndrome. Flash the 4.1.2 firmware. If the phone was dead, you can use warranty.

I dont have any papers. Just the phone and the charger
A super wipe and a start over helped me.
Try running stability test to clear out hardware issue.

well am gona try this ...which rom are you currently running? am on liquid smooth 2.10 jelly bean and it just rebooted 10mins ago..
here is my phone's information...
Phone Reboots
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 running the latest nightly of CM 10.2. I have been constantly updating the nightlies and several times I have factory reset (wiped the cache, delvik cache, the system, data, internal storage, and reformatted everything) my phone and it is still constantly rebooting. I cannot figure out what is causing it either.
i dont think its the roms because i've tried so many CM 1.3 STABLE , CM 10.2 amongst other roms and still getting the reboots..{Feeling frustrated}

I'm going to try a stable CM 10.1 and see if it reboots.
Couldn't flash a stable version of 10.1. I wiped the cache, system, and delvik cache, then flashed the rom, but it wouldn't boot. It just stayed on the Cyanogenmod boot up screen.
Its the same thing, i've tried the stable version(CM 1.3) already and it's the same thing...
And if your stuck on cm boot screen simply reboot back to recovery mode and wipe cache and reboot system and it shud boot up normally...

Well let me know if you figure anything out. It's getting really annoying. I don't know if it's a Cyanogenmod thing or what. I'm really happy with CM when it works and it's been great for me on other devices in the past.

I had the power button issue and sent it into Samsung to be fixed 2 weeks ago. I have had the phone since July 2012 and it was still under warranty. Try lightly wiping your hand across the button and if the phone reacts that's the problem or if it reboots a lot when you are using the button often. Taking the case off seemed to help a little. It was a free repair and they had it back in 6 business days.

Did you unroot your phone?
I have been getting random reboots lately on my OGP, and I can't figure out what is causing them. They seem to happen every other day, sometimes every day, and at different times, any ideas what could be causing this? I have the stock rom, I did root and install a custom recovery, but that's it.
Try This!!!

May be a 3rd party app is causing the reboot.
Try Factory Resetting your phone, then DO NOT install any apps and use the phone normally for a day or so. If the problem persists then let me know.. Good luck!! :good:

My 16GB flo was working fine from the beginning. Always kept it up to date with android releases. Never had an issue. Just today while swyping noticed some weird behavior. So, I tested with a multi touch tester. There were some fake touches recorded. It didn't even allow me to reboot. Later with some effort I managed though. After reboot, it works fine. I'm scared cause I bought that in US and I doubt the so called international warranty will be honored in India.Has this occurred to anyone else? What shall I do if it happens again? Is there some fix for this?

I'm running stock+xposed.
Testing with multi touch app seemed to have made it worse for me, even prevented me shutting it down. Hope it doesn't come back.

If an RMA is not an option, try Abel's solution. It boils down to bad hardware and no quality control. I had to RMA my first one for the exact same reason. Second one is fine.
If you do some googling, you will see that thousands of people have had this problem. Any definitive word from Google or Asus? You wish. They will never admit they made a mistake.

Yes I read about them but this is weird cause a reboot solved the problem.
Had this issue start yesterday. Running Sinless 3.2.2 on stock kernel. I've noticed it only start since installing Xposed but that could be coincidence. Reboot fixed it but woke up to it again today...

The one I had (before I sent it back to Google), would only do it after it had been started for a while. Reboot would make it go away for a while, but it always came back.
Not related to Xposed.
