I get the red text/developer warning "This is a build for development purposes..." between reboots when I see the HTC logo screens. It started halfway into the process of converting my Unlocked HTC 10 to a VZW Variant, but hoped it was just a temporary thing that would go away once I did a factory reset or flashed a new Rom. I've tried doing a few searches while at work, but haven't found any info on a fix specifically for the HTC 10. Fixes I found were for the M9a and earlier, but I figured they wouldn't work for this device anyway.
Does a fix exist or will the red warning haunt my HTC 10 forever?
Thanks.
Nevermind, just saw "[ABOOTS] Bad Sprouts | Hidden Red Text | Updated 6/13/2016" post.

Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my Desire HD. I searched around this forum and others didn't really find me the information I'm looking for, so hopefully someone here can help me out.
Anyway, my phone downloaded the OTA Gingerbread update last night. After the download completed, it rebooted. Did the install and then showed me the red triangle with exclaimation mark. Did a battery pull after about 20 minutes of leaving it at the triangle screen, and now I get nothing but an HTC logo.
Now, I have not modified the phone at all in terms of rooting, turning it to S-OFF or anything like that. I used the base recovery to try and to a factory reset, format data/cache, and nothing works. I'm still just stuck at the white screen with HTC logo.
I know with the Galaxy S series, you can put the phone in download mode and use Odin to flash it. Is there anything similar I can do with this phone? Or any way to get another ROM to install, or even back to factory? Or something similar to Windows Phone where you use the RUU file?
I just got the phone from a friend and unlocked it, and really want to use it
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks all!
Hi.
Why don`t you try to find a RUU file and reflash with it?
But before reflash, please find will this RUU can work into your mobile operator.
Hope this helps.
Regards.
Hello everyone,
First, I would like to thanks everyone who can contribute or help out with this issue that I've been dealing with all day (literally spending the past 7 hours on forums browsing and searching - wish I can say that this is an overstatement)...but in the end, I still have yet to find a solution so now I turn to you guy....and if not obvious already, I'm a super noob at all this as well as any attempt to use the adb/sdk program
Here's the problem: (I'll try to make it as simple and put the most relevant info on here)
I have a Inspire 4g/Desire HD rooted with S-off that was working fine w/ CM7 until last night...phone just started to act up and restarting by itself and ended up being stuck on the endless blue loop CM7 flashscreen
due to my carelessness and having a old back up, I was just decided to format everything format data/cache, re-flashed the cm7 rom and then recover with the old back up (all done in recovery)
however...here's where the problem starts: (i'm guessing it's likely d/t my bad back-up)
on restart, I am "stuck" at the white/htc screen - I have to hard reset (battery out) everytime
HBOOT is still functional - so I know i haven't bricked my phone yet...so...i tried going back to recovery, but this time i passes the white/htc screen, but briefly goes into the green circle with a down arrow and then permanently to the red caution triangle with the exclamation mark....so I was thinking the recovery must of crapped out on me....(factory reset via hboot was non-functional either, similar result: green circle --> resets to htc/white screen)
Thus, I tried doing an "Clean" recovery using STOCK ATT roms renamed to PD98IMG.ZIP on my SD card (found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191959&highlight=Stock+Rom)...however, it always fails to unzip the system portion (tried with various other "clean stock" roms also, same unzipping problem) - this led me to do some more forum hunting in which that I might have a faulty CWM
So it led me to the discovery of the Android Flasher utility application where I have attempted to flash a new CWM to the phone - however, android flasher doesn't "detect" my device - so I followed the instruction here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737728 to have my phone recognized by my computer...i attempted to flash CWM again onto the phone via android flasher...but no luck, I'm still getting a "device not plugged in or driver not installed" message...
I am now exhausted and out of ideas...(not to mention angry/mad at myself)
Thanks again for all your helps/comments, I really appreciates it.

So my HTC One X Plus is stuck in bootloop. Here is what happened. I just got the phone and the first thing I did was unlock it. Everything was fine. Next I went to root it using RootBootV5. Here is where the issue came up. At the end of the root process my phone should have loaded the lock screen. Instead it just sat on the White HTC quietly brilliant. Stayed that way for hours.
So i rebooted into bootloader and tried everything I can possibly think of to fix it, Factory Reset, Fastboot Erase Cache, even folloed this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1609190.
Nothing is working and I don't know what to do. I don't think the phone was successfully rooted so i cant simply flash a new rom. Also recovery is not working, just a black screen.
PLEASE HELP.

I had the exact same problem with Rootboot V5 and I fixed it by following this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051032
This guide will help you flash a new ROM for the One X+
My One X+ was bricked for a WHOLE day and I finally got it to work with this guide this morning.
GOOD LUCK and ask me if you have any issues. I'll be glad to help. I understand how it feels to have a 700 dollar paperweight.
Hello there,
first of all - my english is not my native language so i apologize in advance for any mistake i will make.
Today my completely stock htc one m9 (international) got an update and ive downloaded it
The phone rebooted himself and stuck at 25% with ! in a red triangle. After couple of minutes the phone rebooted again and it was like nothing happened.Ive tried again and the same red triangle appeared.
What can i do in this situation.Hard reset after the update to nougat a month ago (no problems back then).
Software version 4.14.401.7
c.f. Q15 in the FAQ section of the ReadMe thread
I'm sorry then...
But what does that "If you never modified your phone and didn't buy it second-hand then this problem might be a precursor of the NAND death (c.f. the black download mode error screen in Q8)" mean ?
Is it better not to touch anything (updating) and carry on ?
There are several reports of devices whose memory (NAND) died during the last couple of month. And if you didn't manually modify your system partition then the problem you're currently facing might be a precursor of that memory death.
Hi,
I have posted this over in the One XL board but it doesn't seem too active so I thought as the One XL is similar to the One X maybe someone here could help me. If double posting is against the rules Admins please delete this post.
Hi, my wife has a HTC one xl and it is stock. Recently it has started to go into a boot loop and it will not boot up. She has since bought a new phone but would like to recover SMS messages from her mother who has only recently died. I have experience in rooting devices and installation of custom Roms but I don't know where to start with this and don't want to lose the data. I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have tried to boot into recovery from the bootloader but it doesn't seem to work. I have attached photo's of the various screens but when I select the option to boot into recovery I get two green circular arrows and another pointing down for a short time then it goes back into the boot loop (Image below). Is there a way to get this to boot up without losing the data/SMS messages? Thanks.
