I looked into this ... my search led me to purchasing a second huawei watch off eBay that I keep in my pocket in a tiny velvet pouch. I swap out my watches halfway through the day, they are exact same, nobody knows I swapped them. I do this because I have a rooted watch with skin1980's high performance kernel and I use it a lot for voice commands and tts (I have a driving job and I have to go hands/eyes free). I also keep brightness high and screen is always on with tilt-to-wake activated. I'm constantly speaking texts, speaking navigation addresses into the watch, having it read my texts and notifications etc. I've found this watch to be THE BEST interface for spoken voice commands that are immediately acted upon reliably.
so basically, I need 2 watches to run them at full potential so I can drive safely. my watch usage is not normal.

This actually made me laugh quite a bit. It's a sneaky move through.
I am planning on replacing my hw1 battery. I've done it once to a moto360 and it worked.
I don't think there is a compatible battery with a higher capacity available though... I wish I could just use the hw2 battery

I ordered this one from Ali Express. The original is 300mAh, this one is said to be 800. I hope their quality claims are true as well.

ah interesting, tell us your findings once you receive it! 800 seems extremely fake though... Also the reviews estimate it to be 450. But anything more than the original is already a win.

I left it charging now, probably will take for a test ride tomorrow. Note that the battery capacity says it can vary between 450 and 950 mAh, therefore either it's all 450 I think, or it's a lottery. It is taller and slightly thicker but it went in just fine.

Ok, so I am heading back home after an 8h work day. My watch battery meter is at 55% with low day usage (with always on display, voice control and motion detection turned off). My old battery would give me something in the area of 10 ~ 20%. Now, there is also the factor to considering that my old battery had some usage, even if I hadn't use my watch for a while, so this comparison is probably with 1,5y used battery, so I also don't think it is an 800 mAh, maybe 500 mAh?
I noticed a few weird things, when I took it from charger it only had 90% charged, not sure if it needed more time (I left it overnight) or if it got disconnected or something else. The first 5% dropped really fast when I connected it via Bluetooth to my phone and then it stood steady at 85% for a while. The other greatest drops where when opening the Play store on the watch and installing apps, but the rest had some steady decrease. I'll see tonight if I can reach 100%.

At this point I'm confident so. I mean, it won't compare to modern watches batteries nor I think it will allow it much power usage but so far seems it makes the watch usable at least.

Thank you very much for the information and updates on this battery. My HW1's battery seems to be doing fine at this moment but I think I will order one for a backup. I don't put my watch through much during the day and I keep the screen off unless I need it on. I have heard too many stories about screen burn in on these watches. I even switch faces every few days as an added precaution. Thanks again. :good: :good:
ah, too bad I forgot about this thread when ordering my battery. In the end I got this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000149469709.html
The battery life is definitely better than with my worn out battery! I'm into the second day with about 52% left. My usage has decreased quite a lot over time though.
@skunks11111, How long did it take for your battery to arrive from Aliexpress? I have not ordered the higher capacity battery yet but I am still considering it as a backup.
I just did this. Ordered it from aliexpress. It took about almost 2 months to arrive to Toronto. I would imagine now it will take more since Christmas coming.
This is day 2. First day it lasted me about 14 hours from 100% to off. Day 2 it lasted 11 hours. So far happy with it.
Note to be careful taking the screws out. I strip all of them when getting them out. I realized the white (look like plastic) things that came along with battery and tools are to help with this but I realized too late.
I still have not ordered the 800mAh battery. My watch is still doing about 2 days on the original battery. I do keep it in do not disturb mode when I am not using it. That really saves the battery for me.
Ya, I have everything on and use it a lot.

Hello all ,
sorry if it's duplicated question , but it's very urgent for me
I've made this topic before :
[Q] When it comes to heavy Continuous using .. which rom / Ker gives me more hours ?!
and as you can see , i tried almost everything to get more " screen on time "
someone told me to get extended battery
so , could anyone tell me please that is the best one so far ?
and how many extra hours i will get with this one ?
i mean in heavy using
thanx a lot ,
and sorry again
Either get the 2000mah samsung extended battery if you want to keep the slim profile, or get one of the brick sized extended batteries from ebay
any reports about this original Samsung one ?
is it better or the other ones ?
i don't care about size
cuz i have a Case-Mate tough and SPG neo hybrid and i guess they could handle it , right ?
so , any help about exact tested ones ?
Search. The. Fracking. Forum.
^ tried ..
but found many topics with tens of pages
so far i think the original extended battery feed me well
The best kernel is void.echo, excellent performance and battery.
I've got the Samsung 2000mAh battery and you get another cover with it as its slightly bigger. Got me 5 days with void.echo. WiFi on almost all the time. Hes a picture:

They're also bigger ones on eBay but theyre fat and ugly. They are 3500mAh. Never tried them, never will. Ruins the look of the phone. Heres a pic from eBay:
I would go for Samsung's 2000mAh. My ROM is WajkIUI with void.echo. I hate siyah, it drained my battery in 5 hours, i didnt even do anything!
thanx a lot
could you please post some screens about usage ?
specially screen on time
i got max 3 ~ 4 hours with my current stock one
what about yours ?
u could also get an external 1350 mah battery from samsung
there is a link of it somewhere here
and also one more think u can do
disable one core
lock it at 500 mhz full load
undervolt it
and do the same to the gpu

Really? 5 days? I would love to see some proof of that.
there's no rom\kernel combo wich give you that long juice time unless you turn your phone on, put it in "flight mode" and use it as a paper weight.
Anyways i manage to get about 30-40 hours of medium + usage with Anker 1900mAH battery.

It's actually very easy reaching 5 days with wifi always on and GSM... If in all the five days you turn the screen on like 1 hour total.
Those statements of "my phone lasted x hours" without any aditional info are completely useless.

true, gsm only saves looooooooots of battery but dont get mad if you wont receive some of the calls. im happy with phone lasting about 30-40 hours with avarage use, wifi always on brightness set to 0 unless going outside- auto , and pretty much it. better than my desire anyway

Regarding those chinese batterys off ebay.. I dont have any first hand experience with them.. I ordered a 3000mAh battery for my Samsung Galaxy S (the first one). It took maybe 2-3 weeks to arrive, and by that time I had already upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S II. I sold the Galaxy S to a friend, gave her the huge battery when it arrived.. she later said that the bigger battery didnt last any longer than the official original Samsung battery! She also had a couple of other chinese batterys that fit the standard casing, and she said those ones didnt last as long. I personally didnt really notice a difference, but I was always tending to swap out batteries around 5pm when I finished work.
I've just ordered an official Samsung 2000mAh extended battery for my Samsung Galaxy S 2. And I'm starting to play with custom ROMs and kernels. I'll report back my findings when the battery gets here in 2-4 weeks. I'm currently struggling to get through an entire day.. auto brightness, 3g enabled, checking emails every now and then, facebook pushing data down at will, and often with music or FM radio playing through the earbuds.
I"ve got the Samsung Extended Battery with SensatioN Rom with Siyah Kernel.
With bare minimum usage, few phone calls, texting, no 3G connectivity, no Wifi, no music, no gaming, I can get over 5 days.
With normal usage, few phone calls every day, send few texts, internet via 3G or Wifi every now and then, email and weather sync set to every hour, few hours of music here and there gets me little over 2 days.
My heaviest usage was 5 hour continuous gaming without Wifi or 3G connectivity and the battery went from 100% to 12% in that 5 hours.
If you use the display a lot, then forget about getting days of usages on one charge. You might, at the lowest brightness settings, but I never bothered with it. I"ve had my display brightness set at one step above middle ever since I got this extended battery.
could you post screenshot of the " screen on time " please ?
because this is the real challenge for the battery
Better go for original samsung kit 2000 mah....
Please everyone i need numbers
my current stock one gives me max 3~4 screen on time
what about those ??
how many exactly it will gives me screen on time ?
help me on this way please
there is no point other users giving you their max screen time as usage will be very different.
I could say 2 hours of screen time, but I could have GPS connected, Wifi or 3G downloading massive file, music playing and other background tasks doing stuff all at once...
Or I could say 6 hours of screen time at lowest brightness setting while I typed out an essay with no Wifi or 3G, no music minimum background tasks. Almost using the phone as a typewriter.
What you are asking is like "how much farther will 40 litres of fuel get you in a particular car, compared to 30litres of fuel".
It depends on how you accelerate, whether aircon is on or off, are you going uphill or downhill, is it in city driving or highway driving??? People will give you different figures and unless their driving condition is exactly same as yours, the figures really mean nothing.
All you need to know is the extended battery is about 25% larger than stock, there for should give you 25% more usage time.
Update: As stated in one of my posts, I will be posting updates one a day for the first week, one every two days for the rest of the first month, and then one a week (hopefully every Sunday) for the rest of the months. Look forward to it
Review of 3500 mAh Extended Battery for Samsung Galaxy S II
Changelog:
Code:
05/04/12 - Updated with Days 5 & 6
03/04/12 - Updated with Day Three and Day Four
01/04/12 - Updated with Day Two
I bought an extended battery (3500 mAh) from eBay for about $7 CAD, and it finally arrived the day before yesterday.
When I put it into my phone it was already at 74%. After charging it overnight, I started using it the next day at around 7:30 AM.
Before I post the screenshots of my extended battery (Edit: if anyone is wondering, data is usually always on, and brightness is set to Auto), let's have a look at the original stock 1650 mAh Samsung battery life:
Stock Samsung 1650 mAh Battery:

With some simple math, at 9% remaining, this would have lasted me just over 7 hours before reaching 0%.
Conditions of usage: As you can see, I like to use my phone a lot with 76% screen time . I barely used my data/wifi. Data was on but not active, and most of the screen time was spent on Moon+ Reader.
Time lasted: On an average day, (I use data a lot and I play games) I would get about 5 h 45 min or less out of my phone. As you can see from the screenshots above, this wasn't really an average day so it lasted longer, which is reasonable as I did not use data very much.
ROM info: Westcrip's Resurrection Remix ICS Pro 1.0 with the kernel that comes with it.
Now let's compare this with the battery life of the 3500 mAh battery.
3500 mAh Extended Battery
Day 1 [30/03/12]:
Time lasted: A whopping 9 hours 20 minutes.
Conditions of usage: As you can see I was connected to wifi most of the time, and unlike the previous screenshots, I was using wifi/data a lot. I don't know why it says screen time is only 28% though because as you can see in the second picture I had "screen on" a lot.
A charge cycle has Battery Monitor reporting this battery's estimated/measured mAh to be 3074 mAh.
Only 500 mAh difference from advertised capacity, but not bad for $7, if I do say so myself. And this is only the first charge/discharge cycle, so I expect an increase in a couple days.
ROM info: AOKP (bezke's), with Siyah Kernel for ICS beta 7.
Day Two [31/03/12]:
This is the result of the second day of using the extended battery:
Time lasted: 8 hours and 30 minutes.
Conditions of usage: Now as you can probably tell I've used my phone a lot more today, with screen on at 40%. I had a lot of free time, so I was pretty much constantly on my phone, using data and also listening to music (through external speakers just below medium volume). Still not bad compared to stock battery. Data was always on, and brightness set to auto, and music was playing through the speakers for about under two hours.
ROM info: AOKP (bezke's), with Siyah Kernel for ICS beta 7.
Day 3 [01/04/12]:
Now a bit of a funny/interesting story here. First, let's see the screenshots and I'll explain:
Seems pretty standard here. But I decided to turn off wifi and data and keep using it a bit, just for texting and reading ebooks. And when the screen was off, I managed to get it into ~97% deep sleep. So, this was the final result before the battery died.
Almost a whole extra hour usage, and here is CPU Spy's report on Deep Sleep. However, this is not standard. If you're like me, you like using your phone a lot. So we won't count this last screenshot.
Time lasted: 9 hours and 6 minutes.
Conditions of usage: Standard again as usual, but screen time is a bit higher. Unfortunately as a user requested I forgot to take a screenshot of the screen time. I will do it for the next day though. In the meantime, get out your calculator, haha.
ROM info: HyDrOG3N-ICS (AOKP), with latest codeworkx kernel.
Day 4 [02/04/12]:
This is the fourth day result.
Screen time screenshot included as requested.
Time lasted: 7 hours 35 minutes.
Conditions of usage: Today's usage was not very standard at all. I used data almost constantly today, and played around with Cerberus which also consumed a bit of battery life through the GPS and data/wifi. Phone got pretty hot through the constant usage which I hear drains battery faster. I also watched some videos and flash videos too.
ROM info: HyDrOG3N-ICS (AOKP), with NEAK 2.0.1 kernel.
Day 5 [03/04/12]:
Unfortunately there won't be any screenshots for today. My phone crashed and somehow the battery usage got reset, so there's no point. There will still be a report for today as per usual of course.
Time lasted: From 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, the battery lasted me about 9 hours.
Conditions of usage: Not much to say really. Conditions were normal, and so was the time the battery lasted. ~9 hours, occasionally less, seem to be becoming standard.
ROM info: HyDrOG3N ICS (AOKP) with SiyahKernel v3.0rc2.
Day 6 [04/04/12]:
Here's the report for Day 6. And as you will see, wow, the results aren't standard at all. Also included is Battery Monitor's report on the measured mAh along with details for Screen time.
Time lasted: 7 hours and 2 minutes.
Conditions of usage: 7 hours isn't very standard at all. It's a pretty wide deviation from the norm, but my explanation for this is that I was very very bored. As you can see from the "Screen" time, it says 48% but I actually used it for 5 hours and 6 minutes, which is an astounding 72.5% of screen on time. I amaze myself sometimes. So data was always on but not constantly active, and I played some flash videos and even a flash game, and I was testing out GPS on HyDrOG3N ICS (which sucked at getting a lock-on) so all these factors drained my battery. I also watched some videos on my phone as well.
ROM info: HyDrOG3N ICS (AOKP) with SiyahKernel v3.0rc2.
So in conclusion:
This battery seems well worth it. I am very satisfied with the battery life, and if you are a person who likes to play with his phone a lot (games, Reddit all day, browse the internet), then I recommend this phone as it will last you a good amount of time without needing a charge.
I will be continuing to post updates and screen shots this week as I continue using this battery. Subscribe and look forward to it!

thank you for the update on this. i am quite convinced now not to buy batteries from china
I bought one of these 3500mah batterys for $8.5 from Dealextreme and I am really happy.
My usage at work at times would be consistent to the point of telling the time by the battery percentage so I had a good baseline comparison test to do.
Under the stock battery running the FM Radio for 4 hours with no other use (I work midnights so no calls or anything) would consistently drain 21% of my battery.
With the 3500 it only drains 10% in the same time.
That works out to the battery working as advertised, slightly of double battery life for a battery that is slightly over double size.
It looks good for now, but please come back with a review in 3 months and we'll see how it fares
What's the font used here?
I'm using an extended 3500mah Spider-Foot since in August 2011.
My battery monitor measures it between 3100 to 3200 mAh. After 8 months of use I'm pretty happy. Costed $10 -
Maybe I'm missing the point why I should buy a 10x priced battery with approx same capacity?
Does it increase phone speed?
Well there must be a reason but I haven't figured it out yet.

Thats why im asking how long. % doesnt really mean anything. Click the screen when you are viewing the battery stat. It should tell you how long it has been one for.
Well I just checked, and the percentage corresponds with the number of hours I've been on battery. No seriously, I went ahead and did some math and it was pretty close to the actual screen time value I get when I click it
So while I don't have a screenshot of screen time for Day 2, by my calculations, with 8 and a half hours and 40% screen on time, the actual number of hours is about 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Look at how little time his phone is awake and his screen is on. That's maybe like 5% total out of 5 days, which is about 6 hours total. My phone gets that in one day if I'm really bored so it's still about the same amount of drain.
I use my phone a lot, as my sole entertainment device. Games, movies, Internet, whatnot. My usage is more realistic than his, however impressive 5 days is. I'm sure if I barely touched my phone I would have the same results. (97% deep sleep is usually achievable unless I'm using it)

5 hour of 500mhz and 5 hour of 1200mhz gonna make a huge difference even the screen on time is the same...
Hi guys,
Go this One X about 2 weeks ago tomorrow, so I'm guessing the battery has now reached its maximum capacity. Yesterday I was using my phone loads, I had nothing to do and so I kept messing about on it and I got these AMAZING statistics. I'm on 1.29, and for a heavy day of usage these statistics are excellent!
Anyone else seeing anything like this

The battery consumption in standby is almost negligible. 3% for all the night. Having the same kind of statistics since last 38days. But the consumption when the screen is on, isn't so great. But for me it can easily sustain for a day, only thing I have to keep my hands off my mobile.

I have often noted not a single % loss overnight! I couldn't believe it when I went to bed (it was 91%) and woke up 7 hours later and it was still at 91%. I confirmed this behaviour over about 3 or 4 nights - same. Very impressed. Overall I must say that I am actually pretty impressed considering what this phone is packing inside. Over the weekend when I'm not using my phone as much as during the week (family duties call ;-) I can go about 2 days without a charge which is outstanding. The One X is by far the best handset I have ever owned. I love it.

That's really good actually, much better than mine so maybe over the next few days I will see an increase in battery life compared to what I already have. You have charged yours though around the Yellow drop down mark

I agree with this statement. I can't go that long without a charge, but there again I am always using my phone so you know. The GSIII has nothing on this, it really doesn't.

disable all the last 4 settings in the sound menu, no fastboot in power options and battery is better on 1.28 and 1.29 so whats ur firmware?
Screen times?
My One X did 2 days 7 hours once but it means nothing if you haven't really used your phone...

Already done that sadly fella, manual sync, manual brightness too
I'm on 1.29 at the mo, just switched to a new Kernel so hopefully should get an improvement

Totally recommend a factory reset, by the sounds of things your battery needs calibrating or something firmware wise is wrong.
Done it many a time mate (I install new ROMs every week or so)
As for calibrating my battery I have done it once but I will be trying it again soon

There's a market application that can do it, but it will install those annoying adds that put the little green '+' in your notification bar, however uninstalling the application will remove these.. so you could do a calibration and run

I'm also really impressed with the battery life
It's so much better than my old iPhone 4S
Here's a screenshot of a few days usage (using the phone whenever I needed, no just leaving it idle for days.... )
I wish i could be that enthusiast about the battery life. I ran the HTC Battery Test and it went from 100% to 89%, which is supposed to be really good (or at least shows that there is nothing wrong with the battery). However, when the screen is on, the battery level decreases pretty quickly. I've seen people here who use the screen for 4 hours and still have 50% battery but it's clearly not my case.
I've had the phone for like 10 days, so maybe it will get better. Let's hope so

It is because you have hardly used the phone as indicated by the fact that the screen is only at 28%. The standby life is good, however as soon as you start using the phone battery goes down fast. Also it does not update battery properly while in standby, as soon as you start using it the battery will drop by 5-6% in one go.
Hi again,
Just about to give up on this tablet when I noticed that it seems to be the battery percentage setting that is causing my charging and discharging issues.
With the setting turned on and the percentage visible, the battery seems to discharge and charge oddly, and also the percentage shown does not reflect the amount shown on the battery icon, or at least it rarely does, but it varies.
With the percentage setting off, the discharge seems much slower and predictable.
If you have a p600, could you possibly try this for me with and without and see if it matches with my findings?
Thanks.
I'm having very odd battery issues myself. I'll give this a try and see if it improves for me.

With it on I have noticed............ If I remove charger at 96% next thing I notice battery is at 100% and my battery app charts that jump.
I'm using Battery HD, are you using a battery app also?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using any battery app, just the one that comes with the stock tablet.
I think I did encounter the same thing as you, and also unplugging at 100%, then taking it upstairs and looking and it was 96% or so, and then after a restart, it was 100% again. Very odd, but it doesn't do it for me unless the percentage setting is enabled.

No i suspect my device might have some deeper issue. I can drain the battery from 100% to 0 in an hour of playing games but if i turn off the note and turn it back on, it'll be back at 60% or whatever it's actual battery level is. I can rinse and repeat and slowly get it down to 0. Either way the battery drains much quicker than it should. It could probably only last 6 hours of screen on time with very light usage. I might need to get motherboard or battery replaced.
I am still hoping that its a software glitch and something like this could fix it.

I wonder if the tablet needs a little time to calibrate the battery usage, maybe there is an internal process that has to happen over time?

I've had it since it was released in october or november and the battery life used to be good and last 10+ hours and probably 5-6 hours while playing games. Not sure what happened in between. It has taken a few very light drops with no visible damage and i did break (bend) a charge with it in the tablet but the charging port seems normal and still works fine.
Just checked with battery % off for 30 mins and battery dropped 4% which is normal.

I still had crazy battery drops with the percentage turned off. so didn't seem to make any difference for me.

Is your unit still rooted????? If so have you tried removing root and installing the most current factory rom.
Have you seen this post "Longer Battery Life (or How You're Being Robbed!)"
It may help some that are having issue with battery drainage but after seeing your post #36 in the BATTERY posting .... I'm leaning towards a cracked or damaged board from the few drops you talked about.

I've tried unrooting and odined back to a factory rom, also cleared my SD cards, nothing helped so i'm back to being rooted for now. I've done a lot of the tweaks to improve battery life but whenever I play games, it just drains like crazy even with minimum brightness. The drops were very very minor, like from 1 foot onto carpet and with a case so I doubt that it was the cause but I guess theres always a chance.
I'm still wondering if I should just live with terrible battery life and stay tethered to a charger or risk sending it back to samsung and having them find out it was rooted and overcharging me for repair. And I love the device so much, I don't know if I'd want to give it up for a week or two.

So, I wonder which is correct, the icon or the percentage? If the percentage is right, my tablet is faulty. If the icon is right, it would seem to be ok.
And all these reviews and people that get 10-12 hours, I guess they went by the icon?

The percentage gives a more accurate time I guess.
But people and myself use the "Screen on time" as the usage data.

Was doing ok last night and then came here and the battery took a dive. Went and grabbed adblock for firefox and ghostery and ghostery was reporting 65 trackers on this site. Also the malware popups were becoming ridiculous and they only happened here. Going to do a factory reset and not come come here tonight, see if that helps anything.
I did do a bit of a search regarding the malware here, and it was being reported as early as last june it seems.
It seems the face you choose makes a big difference!
I tested the "minimal" analog stock face, "simple" digital with no seconds, an app watchface called "speeds" with a smooth second hand, and a "luxury" face with animated gears in the background.
In order from most power efficient to least:
Simple: 28h 38m to 20%
Minimal: 24h 40m to 23%
Speeds: 21h 30m to 20%
Luxury: 12h to 20%
EDIT: The new update to KGW42R doubles battery life!?
Rotate: 49h 5m to 20%

Excel file updated, if you want to try it for yourself, just copy a whole sheet and just change the graph title and fill in your own date and battery data!
This is great!
I was wondering how the different watch faces would affect the battery, especially the animated ones. I also think a black background would help; a white or lighter background would use more battery to light up the display.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together! I look forward to your updates.

This should be true. The only thing that should make a difference is perhaps the second-hand on the watchfaces, and perhaps animations, etc.

I thought the same, but you can see there's a difference even between the stock analog and digital faces, I guess processor power is part of the equation...

The minimal and simple are stock motorola, here's the "speeds" one I quite like it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ace.watch.face.speedometer.android.wear&hl=en
And here's the "luxury" pack of faces (I tested the white + black one with gears, it costs like a dollar):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goldenbrown.watches
Nice. I've switched to simple.
have you tested to see if facer uses more power than the preinstalled faces ?
Nice post. When I got my 360, the first thing I did was install a "Rich Watchface" watch face. The next day, I was down to 50% in about 2 hours! I had no idea at that time that different faces affected battery life. I almost believed the bad hype about battery life at that point. I was disappointed. So I decided to reset the device and give it another shot. I used the Minimal stock face this time and didn't install any apps. Battery was at 95% after 2 hours this time. Whew! I was excited about the watch again. I added all my apps back, 1 per day, to try and figure which app was draining like that. By that time, I had researched enough to learn that watchfaces could affect battery life, so that was the last app to install back. As soon as I did, it began to drink the battery dry again. Ambient off and either Auto brightness or 1 brightness at all times during this.
I still love the watch. While I can deal with this now that I know, it is a little disappointing not to be able to use ANY watch face and still get at least 20 hours of battery.

Yeah I think the same, but hopefully it's just because the face devs are still learning and we'll get better battery life in the future for custom faces
Man... I was just going to make a thread like this..... Today I noticed that using the stock faces my battery life stays longer. I was impress because by now it would have been less then 10% from 8 to 8 but I had 50 percent left...moderate notification and a few games like the wanna be flippy Bird. Used facer and it drops 10% instantly.
I can confirm this as well.
Changed to stock Moto face and with ambient off and auto brightness, the thing breezes through the day with about 50% left at the end of the day. This with and active use of it through the day, including a short GPS guidance as well.
I was happy, rewarded it with a metal band.
DON'T USE watch faces from out of the Play Store. They don't have the APIs, so they are like running full apps on your watch. I made mistake of installing these aftermarket faces and I was getting like 12-15 hours.
Now I'm using the moto ones and I get close to 24hrs. Today I took the moto 360 off the charger at 9am. It's now 8:45 and I have 44%. I'm using the minimal face.
Awesome thread and very useful information. Love the Excel sheets! I'm on Classic face from day one and its the best face and good battery life. I'm left with 40-45%% end of the day 9:00PM
Just wanted to chime in here a bit about watchfaces from the play-store. I'm the dev of the Secret Agent Watchface (I realize that I haven't use this username in conjunction with my rmukapps account anywhere to prove that, but what i'm about to say shouldn't be all that surprising). A lot of the custom watchfaces (including mine) do things like show the connected phone's battery life or show the weather. To do that, the face must make a call to the watch to request the info at some kind of interval. The extra battery drain from this is somewhat minimal if done properly, however it definitely will use more power than a watchface that just shows the time. I haven't really done full comparisons like the OP did (really nice graphs btw), but I'll definitely try to keep an eye on ways of improving this. Having come from a G Watch to the 360 (just got it today), i'll be paying a bit more attention to it.
See first post for insane KGW42R battery runtime!
Wow, that' awesome battery life! I'm going to try the rotate watch face now and see if I can get that type of battery life. One thing that I notice is that my watch drops from 100% to 98% in under 30 minutes, but after that, the watch pretty much last 24 hours before I reach 24% battery left, which is pretty good. I'm wondering if having apps like the browser/etc that are not properly coded, helps in killing the battery even when not in use? Also, what settings do you use to get that amazing battery life? I currently have my brightness at 1.

I was pretty surprised, I just use auto brightness and ambient off, but I had plenty of notifications and a few calls too!
I have wear launcher, browser, flashlight, minimaps, and others installed, but I reset watch after the update and never installed a watchface app (facer, play store faces, etc.)
I like to charge with the display off, check the % with motorola connect, then give it 30-60min after it hits 100%
I bet the no aftermarket watch faces installed makes a difference though :good:
