I flashed my headunit hoping to get 2gb of app storage but after installing, I checked my available app storage and its only around 700mb which is the same ol 1gb for the stock rom. Any suggestions?
What is your board type? MTCB?, if it is not a MTCB it will not work. What version of the Malaysk rom do you have? His firmware after December all have FUSE support which allows all storage to be used. I would re-download the most recent version of his rom, I have 2 joying units and both are running with all available storage. @Malaysk.

It does have 4GB, but some of that is used for things like the ROM and caches. What you are seeing is the amount of space available for installing applications, which is about 2.15GB.
Help w/ root & install Cooked ROM for 7" 8GB 512MB DDR3 Android 4.0 Tablet PC A13
I've just purchased the 7" Black 8GB 512MB DDR3 Google Android 4.0 Tablet PC A13 Capacitive Camera MID, now if anyone can direct me to the correct forum for cooked rom for this tablet, I've done Google search nothing, I've also searched the xda forums but no luck, so is there a comparable ROM or tablet model to look into?

Or google allwinners tool box bouth you will have to use usb keep your rom the way it is you have a table pc get the keyborad and wireless mouse

The MIUI stock rom was showing 6.12 GB of ROM totalspace out of 8 GB and 1 GB RAM. I flashed with custom rom, now it is showing only 5.7GB of ROM and 820MB of RAM. Is this the real spec of the device or some of the spaces got wasted while flashing? or is it not utilizing the RAM and ROM completely I tried with both CM11 and Mokee, both showing the same.
Please suggest...

Miui uses some sh*t memory calcuting tech. I have a 64 gb sd card inserted, the actual user available space is 62.5gb, but my phone shows freaking 66.98gb!! How can a 64gb memory card have 67gb in it!?!?
Trust me, the internal storage of our phones can hold 5.72 gb, and not more than that. And the total usable ram is 871mb, not 820mb. 153mb goes to the gpu.

Not in miui bro even all brand in 16 GB you will get 12 GB for use 2 GB for application and rest for system.

Having a very similar unit with only 1GB memory, I would advise keeping a 4.4.4 Android version. I have tried several 5.1 roms but they become all laggy after some usage time.

Thank you for the advice, I expected it. And what rom 4.4.4 do you use now? Which one of the best you've ever done? Have you updated mtu? Is it worth updating them or is it better to change and change only rom?
Try the malaysk 4.X version, it works for me ( with the same HU, only 1GB ) perfect, the 5.x is much slower on it

Previos time I used Redmi Note 4 (Mido). That phone are 3gb varient. That phone in i flashed epicMiui custom rom. That rom are used my ram storage only few 1gb/1.3gb Ram. That rom are my best choose for that issue. All time ram storage 1.4gb are always free. That phone camera are just osame
But,
Now I am used Redmi note 5. There I tested many custom rom. All the custom ROM are most ram storage drained. Like there are free ram storage are only 700mb to 900mb.
So,
I need A miui based rom.
That are i am used daily draivers. That are mostly free my ram 1.4 to 1.5gb. Sugeested me please...

You don't need that. Empty ram is wasted ram. Stop obsessing with numbers and learn how things works.

Congratulations, you used your phone with 1.5gb ram lol. Why do you even have this crazy idea that somehow unused ram is good for you? Its not, unused ram=useless ram in linux/android.
