Hi, I would like to known if the Z5 Premium is Daydream Ready ? I think the CPU is good (same as nexus 6P which is the only phone actually with Daydream Ready ) and sensors too, but for the screen i'm not sure. Yes it's 4k that's mean perfect for VR but what about the screen latency ? I can't find any informations about this... Is there someone who knowns the screen latency (ms) of Z5 Premium ?
I hope it will be Daydream Ready
There is an option daydream in settings, display.. It will show info while charging or dock (as Sony has Cool dock for z5)... Hope it helps..

No problem bro
Yeah I think it is

Yes I found this information too, beacause LCD IPS has to much afterglow/latency (19ms compare to OLED/AMOLED it's 0.1ms ...day and night ) and I test it recently with my cardboard (first time I use it) and when you moove it's horrible...you can see all pixel blurred :/
if Sony stay with LCD all their phone will be late(hasbeen) compare to concurrence
(Sorry for my bad english, I'm French )
So I have to change my z5 in November, when Daydream will come.

I am curious, did you overclocked your Play? Just wondering is it just bad parts or long-term damage by overclocking...

This may be a little nit picky but is there a way to adjust how quick the watch face comes on when you look at it. I have it set to keep the screen off. But when I look at it there is a delay for it to come on.. it's a little over a second... .. anyone else experience this?

Not aware of any way to adjust the speed or sensitivity of the screen wake but mine is definitely quicker than yours. More like 1/4 to 1/2 second for the screen to illuminate.

Its odd but my 2nd unit is a little slower, but it always work when you turn it so its looking right at you. If you turn it a little, flick it, but dont face it right in front of your eyes (direct shot) it wont go to active mode

Is it the Moto watch that senses the motion you make when you look at the watch?

Mine is at least twice as fast to wake when I playback your video and do the same motion at the same time. You ought to compare yours to an in store unit if Verizon has them.

Hmm that's interesting, what watch face are you using? and what settings are configured on your phone?
I haven't seen anything regarding this in the news or spec sheets, and since it's gonna have an LCD screen, I think it's a legitimate question.
Yes same ambient display as you would see on the Nexus 6

yes it will, but its not going to be as good as the nexus 6p ambient display because it will light up the whole screen isntead of the individual pixels, and thats the main reason im going with the 6p
Thanks guys, I'll try it out and see how it works. I just hope it's more responsive than on the Nexus 6.

If Moto X Style can use an LCD screen for their version of ambient display, then it should not be too bad

Oh no, that doesn't sound promising. But the Moto X is using 2k for the screen, not 1080 so that could be a factor for average battery? I think the 5x will be fine with ambient because doze and app standby

I'm pretty sure the 2k screen or quad hd screen is what's killing the battery much faster than it should. I'm also seeing a lot of people reporting their 2nd most used is the phone's radios. Myself and a bunch of other people report that it shows 5%-10% "phone without signal" which is weird because my old phone never had these problems, Maybe there will be a software update soon but I think I'd rather stick with a much smaller 5x which is easier using it one handed
i would take ambient display even if i had to sacrifice some battery
I just hope it works better than the Nexus 6. Coming from a 2014 Moto X, it's hard to stomach the way it works on the Nexus 6.

Just seems real inconsistant to me...with the Moto it worked flawlessly every time. With the 6 sometimes it comes up when i bump the phone, sometimes it doesn't.

With the 5X and 6P, there's Android Hub, which will make ambient display activation more accurate. Something to look forward to

Just to clarify, the 5X cannot pulse the time/notifications in white like Moto display? But the 6P does?

6P has EIS, smart burst, slo-mo at 240fps. Idk what else it can do but I think ambient display is the same since both have Android Hub
Sent from my Nexus 5
Ambient display is the same on both
The only way the ambient display will differ between the two is 5x=LCD and 6p=Amoled. Amoled screens only light up the pixels needed whereas an LCD lights up even black pixels (since the whole panel is backlit ) so theoretically the 6p ambient display should use slightly less battery than the ambient on the 5x

The Moto X Pure has a 5.7" QHD IPS LCD and only a 3,000mAh battery so I'm not sure what you were expecting. Putting a 3,000mAh battery in a phone with a screen like that and expecting good battery life is like putting a 10 gallon gas tank in a heavy duty V8 truck and expecting to get 350+ miles on a single tank.
Hello all, I haven't seen this problem posted elsewhere, but I've experienced burn in problem with my Huawei watch. I've sent an email to Huawei requesting warranty repair/replacement. As some of you may recall when the watch first came out and their were issues with the "red tint" and battery life, Huawei extended the warranty on the watch to 2 years. So, I am expecting that they will honor this. Anyone else know of a problem like this or have an occassion to ask Huawei to honor that 2 year warranty?
Pro tip: warranty on any electronic device is 2 years in Europe.
Thanks, I am in the US, so I guess that doesn't help me. We'll see what Huawei says.

Well, I have my Hwatch since February with always on display turned on and there is no burn in whatsoever.
Might be an issue with his particular piece.

Indeed. I got my HWatch in February too and I have been using the display turned on always(when on the wrist) and have not experienced any burn in. The thing is that I made sure not to fidle with the screen wake time which is by default 5 seconds(probably for good reason) and I also made sure that every watchface that I use has Burn In Protection.
If you followed the same guidelines, then the only alternative would be that you ended up with a faulty device from the start.

You can read about it in the description of the watchface(Google Play or watchface client on the phone if it is a customizable one), you can also see if the watchface has shifted whilst glancing at your watch in ambient mode and waking it up by touching/press power button(it will align with the normal watchface) or better yet: leave your watch on the table on one side and film it with timelapse for a couple of minutes with your phone while having the phone in a fixed position aka not in your hand-you will see the watchface shifting.
Hope this info helps
P. S. : I don't think the the feature in developer mode actually works cuz it never stays activated for me.

Did you do like Juliogo suggested? Go to settings > about > build number. Tap on build number a bunch to enable Developer Option. Go back to settings, now at the bottom is Developer Options. Click that then the 7th option is Wear Developer Option. 3rd option down is "Force display burn-in protection". Enable that. Good luck.

Will this harm watch? Why was it disabled to begin with?
Shatter their dreams! and haunt their nightmares !
So it's really for watches with OLED screens. LCD doesn't really have the burn in issue. What it does if very slightly move the watch face around so the number lines are always in the same place. See a timelapse video here:

LG G7 has also a LCD display, but it has AOD. So has nothing to do with LCD
Car can also sail,it doesnt mean it's a smart idea.
Same for LCD screens and AOD.(aka keeping my screen turned on all the time draining battery like there's no tomorrow, had it on G6 with 2h of sot lol...opposing to AMOLED screens which have only few pixels turned on for AOD purposes while others are shut off thus giving almost the same battery life with AOD as without )

AOD is meant for people that put it on a stand or a wireless charger stand, as I do. It has nothing to do with LCD or Amoled, it is a choice :good:
No it isn't. Fact that only two LG's lowest selling phones are using it in history of lcd screens shows its a stupid choice.
And no it is not ment as a night stand **** it's ment as a permanent and advanced substitution of notification led.
99% of ppl don't use stands of any kinds and look for notifications while phone is off the charger/stand etc.
99%? Give me a link where you got this information, you made me curious
It was a figurative expression, can u give me link that AOD is meant just for stands or a wireless chargers? You made me curious.
I didn't want to go there cuz idiotic questions demant idiotic answers

But I didn't have always it on but there was additional ''turbo'' button for gamez but it also showed temporary always on display so I just pressed it once and showed it for 5 seconds .. I used it espec next to bed or when I woke up early ..
