HTC Backup not found - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people.
I made an upgrade to marshmallow from android 5.0.1, but before doing that I did an HTC Backup. Now I'm trying to restore my backup using the HTC Restore app and the system integrated HTC Backup but both of them say that there's no backup at all.
I have been trying for two days without luck, what should I do? My HTC Backup is lost forever? I will appreciate any help.

HTC backup has been removed in 6.0 , you should have used HTC Sync desktop software to backup your device before upgrading to 6.0. I am afraid you may not be able to restore your backup.

[Q] Unrevoked3 and HTC Desire

Hi,
After rooting HTC Desire with unrevoked3, flashing a custom ROM, is it possible to go back to original ROM and will it be possible to get HTC official updates.
Yes. I believe that it's enough to restore nandroid backup (Just to be on a safe side), however, after an OTA update, You WILL lose root, and if that update has fixes for some of the known rooting mechanisms, You could be left with unrooted phone for a while (until someone makes another root )
unrevoked3 works also with last OTA update (32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2)?
There is someone that have tested it?

[Q] Desire on TMobile - restore contacts?

Hi - I have a HTC Desire (T-Mobile UK - which seems to be different to other HTC Desires in functionality/menu options).
I did an upgrade to Froyo (official, OTA version) and it restored my contacts after the upgrade.
I did a factory reset (for another issue) and assumed it would restore my contacts but it didn't!! The data must be there but how do I get it to do the restore???
On the Desire with froyo no more data backup and restore at the moment..u can sync contacts with gmail
Sent from my HTC Desire
Thanks. Are you absolutely sure? I ask because when I loaded froyo it restored my data...at least that's what it said it was doing!
I'm sure:

When u loaded froyo, u still have backup feature because was in 2.1, now that u have froyo, when u did factory reset there is no backup feature (at the moment, we will hope in next htc updates).

[Q] Just seeking a little advice about restoring the stock RUU...

Hi guys,
I'm an Aussie with a Desire HD which has Middle Eastern locales (Got it cheap on Ebay).
All I've done to it thus far is temproot it via Visionary, and used Paul O'Brien's little trick to delete some of the stock apps.
However, an OTA update has become available (1.83.415.4), which I can't install as it wants to update DCSStocks.apk (and there may be others), which no longer exists on my phone.
I was thinking of reapplying the stock RUU for the software version I am currently at (1.32.405.6). Am I right in thinking that this will restore the stock apps to my phone, allowing me to install the OTA update?
So, in summary, the steps I was going to take are as follows:
- Backup all my apps with Titanium Backup
- Install HTC Sync
- Run the official RUU I downloaded from shipped-ROMs
- Restore all my apps with Titanium Backup
Are there any other important considerations I have completely failed to address?
If any of you knowledgeable folk could cast your eyes (and minds) over this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
You are correct, when you flash the RUU as you described, you will be able to install OTA updates again
Thanks very much, mate!
In terms of recovering all of my apps after reapplying the stock RUU, do I have to run/install each and every backed-up APK from the SD-card via Astro (or an equivalent), or is there a quicker way?
For example: Do you think that a reinstalled version of Titanium would be able to recover them in one hit? (I apologise if this is a monumentally stupid question, but I'm not sure exactly how this marvellous little application does its magic).

[Q] HTC Backup for GPE?

So, I keep converting the HTC One M8 to GPE and back to Sense using the RUU.
I'm wanting to go back to GPE for a bit, 5.0.1 but i use the HTC Backup to restore
messages, contacts and so on without me having to do in manually (which is annoying).
I want to know if the HTC Backup app will work on the GPE Lollipop version and if so,
Could you link me to the apk i can use?
Thanks , appreciated.

Couldn't find anything else about this but i found another thread that was never responded.

EDIT: !!
I RUU'd into the GPE Version of 5.0.1 Lollipop and i tried the HTC Backup , side loaded and it crashed, so, no, It won't be able to restore all my stuff (Bad HTC).
I wanted to avoid having to wipe and re-install my apps and messages, But yeah, it will crash.
(This for future reference for anybody else with the same question)
I created a Download link for those who want it:

Wish I'd seen this earlier....
I flashed GPE Plus+ today (http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/development/rom-google-play-edition-lollipop-v1-00-t2963927)
My only backup was with HTC Backup, because it's been so reliable before...
UGH!!!
(AT&T HTC One M7 - carrier lock removed (legally), rooted, still using AT&T on active SIM, getting ready to move to TING)

HTC Backup app after root on HTC One M8

Hi,
I've currently got a HTC One M8 running Android 5.0.1 and Sense 6. I'm about to root it, I've backed up my apps, contacts etc. using the HTC backup app, I just wanted to know if after rooting my phone (I'm staying on Sense 6) I'll be able to use the recovery option to recover all my apps and data,
Thanks,
PJRaphael
