LG PC Suite, Firmware Update Stuck - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello ! I have a big problem
I tried to restore my phone with LG PC Suite after some problem, he needs to go on warranty but i was rooted and twrp recovery so i tried to have a "stock phone" before it
I have done a "restore error..." on LG PC Suite but now my phone is sutck on Do not unplug the USB connection and in a square "U USER S0.0 AS0.0 B89 UHS
S U LG D855 05.0 Hrev_10
D85520h
D85521a"
I cannot acces to recovery and the phone won't boot, it always go on firmware update ... I had some files that i haven't saved, they are lost ? How can i do to unstuck it ?
My phone will go to my seller for warranty because I had a lot of other problem before ... When i tried to restore error, that's because i had bootloop, freeze, lag (on every rom i tried, even old save), the plastic around the mic (up and down) is broken (a lot of G3 have this problem) and my screen is yellow (due to the glue) on the left top corner or my SIM card wasn't always detected (but she works fine on others phones) but if i can save some files ... But I have no hope, I know Android ... This is my third phone bricked or with problem

Can you boot into download mode?

Well I suggest using the LG Suite and try to install a new update but it will remove root. You can root it again( I believe) and its not a hardbrick( like mine) so you should be fine with the update.
lg suite solution
I already try that solution with lg suite but after phone restart whole process is stooped i i have the same alert screen that i had when i try manually go into download-mode. so secure boot error, boot certificate failure or something.
Pushing files under linux via dd command
Hi guys right now i prepare some files like boot.img, aboot.img and also laf.img so kernel. boot-loader and download mode.
But right now when i check i`m not able to find under Linux my G3 i doesn't have any additional storage devices except hard-drive.
Right now my phone is able to work in few modes:
- When it turn on and boot normally (sometime): i can connect it as MTP, PTP, and charging ( but update via lg suite don`t work)
- When it don't turn on at all (boot-loop) - it`s not recognized by windows at all
- And sometimes when I leave it in boot-loop for more or less 5 minutes it goes to some orange screen that with subsystem error kernel crash and after i push volume up i theory i`m in Dload mode and phone is recognized in windows as LGE with com port but i cannot use LG flashtool 1.8 (error when model version checking, and in lg flashtool 2014 error of phone connection and process is stopped)
Any advice?? how to make phone to connect as qualcomm... to make it recognized by Linux

LG G4 H81510h download mode not working

Hello Gurus,
Well i am trying to boot my phone into download mode but i am continuously getting
secure booting error 1014 and my phone then boots lollipop 5.1 which is stock rom.
my lg g4 model is h81510h build number lmy47d, it is not rooting or flashed anyway.
I want to flash flash marshmallow kdz with lg flash tool but my phone is not booting into download mode, please help or suggest any other method
HALP PLS
I'm having more or less the same problem. I bought a used H815 and it came with Android 5.1 (software version h81510h)rooted and stock recovery. I tried upgrading to MM over OTA but tapping Update Center leads me directly to the App Update screen instead of giving me a choice between software update and app update.
That is when I decided to go the KDZ route but when i tried switching the phone to download mode it went there and in the top left corner there was this 'Secure Booting Error 1014' message and then it restarted in about 5 seconds. I have tried this multiple times with the same exact result.
ADB detects my phone but when I send the 'reboot bootloader' command it just does a plain reboot so I can't use any of the fastboot commands. I also have no idea whether this phone has an unlocked bootloader or not.
Also for some weird reason my phone is not using the MTP mode when I connect it to my PC. It either uses PTP or charge-only depending on what I select but if I select MTP it automatically reverts to the previously selected mode. LG Bridge doesn't detect it and neither does the Mobile Support Tool but I can transfer images just fine. MTP was working last night but it suddenly stopped working and I have no clue why.
I can get into the recovery without any problems.
Please help me get it working again

Same problem with my H811. Any solutions?
I cant get my g4 into download mode. I was able to earlier but it died on me. My buddy has the same phone so I am using his fully charged battery now (mine was around 40$) but I'm still getting nothing. Should I reformat the SD card and try again? I can't think of anything else.

something weird with my lg g3

So yesterday i was browsing facebook on my phone when it suddenly freezes and i couldnt do anything so i took the bactery out. Now my phone wont boot it stuck on logo screen but this time not LED appears i dont see the LG logo moving i use to see a bright color thingy near it and this time no flashing LED i can enter twrp recovery but the internal storage becomes 0 and i cant flash a new rom because it gave me an error. I tried to enter download mode i thought it work it said download mode then for a few secs the screen just turn black and nothing. So this is basically hard bricked im guessing?

It's just the universe's way of telling you to stay off of facebook
You can tell if it is a hardbrick if your G3 shows up as something strange in the device manager of your PC like qualcomm 9006 or 9008 or something else under "ports" and will not be recognized as a phone. So check what your device manager on your computer says under "portable devices" and "ports", when you plug the phone in and you can tell if you're bricked or not.
For reference: when i'm in download mode(firmware update screen)on a healthy G3 my pc sees the phone as LGE Android MTP device under "potable devices", LGE Mobile for VZW USB serial port(com41) under "ports", and "LGE Mobile for VZW USB Composite Device" under USB controllers. (*Don't mind the VZW tags as that denotes it is for a Verizon phone.)
It's good you can get into recovery, but internal storage reading 0 in recovery is strange. What error do yo get when trying to flash something in recovery? Have you tried reflashing the TWRP recovery zip or .img file in your recovery? Have you tried a different/new battery(check the date code on the battery to see how old it is - if it's 2014 it's probably bad)? A bad battery can cause random shutdowns and bootloops, it could cause your phone to reboot while in download mode(which could be why you don't make it to the "firmware update" screen after it says "download mode"), but I doubt it would cause the recovery errors
Also, please include your G3 variant (D855, Vs985, etc.) and the ROM you were running when all of this happened. Someone may have experienced your issue before and it could be ROM/variant specific with an easy fix...if it's fixable and not a catastrophic hardware issue.
Best of luck to you getting it fixed :good:
yup it says qualcom 9008 thingy i might try to reflash an image and see what happens lol im planning to buy a new phone anyway so if it cant be fixed oh well idc XD. battery is from 2014 and its lg d855
Happened to me several times, phone get overheat then just refuse to turn on
In my case, I let it charge to 100% and if still not booting, reflash the ROM

G4 H815 bootloop/freeze - "The Call of the Bin" ?

Hey guys long time lurker here !
I'm experiencing an issue with my G4 h815 currently with AICP (rev from around April) and TWRP (from around January 2017).
Since the last update of AICP I did (so back in April) everything went fine with the phone.
I did nothing weird with the phone (haven't installed an app for months, neither droped the phone or whatsoever)
It suddenly froze while I was browsing Chrome, then bootlooped 2 times, couldn't get past the "swipe to unlock" thingy.
I then decided to get into recovery mode with PWR+Volume down buttons => "do you want to erase blabla ?" => YES => "Are you sure blabla" => YES.
The "TeamWin" logo from TWRP appeared once, phone bootlooped again, and until then it just freezes after the second "YES" when I try to get to recovery mode and then bootloops again.
Obviously this crap happens when I'm far away from home (and for a long time) so I installed drivers / ADB stuff on my laptop but I can't get the phone to be recognized by win 10 in any way. ADB says : error: device '(null)' not found
I'm a bit lost right now, any thoughts / keywords that could help me getting sorted are welcome !
Many thanks in advance,
Fosco
Ok I managed to go a bit further ... discovered about the download mode thingy (Vol UP while plugin it to computer).
I installed LG UP, picked a KDZ file here.
I was then able to "upgrade" the phone with the stock rom : Complete success from the process perspective. It then froze on the basic LG logo. I removed the battery, entered recovery mode, reset worked, phone went back alive => "android is preparing apps, etc" but then it rebooted and froze again on LG logo.
Am I missing something ?
EDIT : Tried LG Bridge method aswell ... can't get it to go further than boot ... still freezing on the boot screen
Went ahead, disassembled the phone and heated the CPU ... looks like it needed it-ish.
I am still stuck on the LG logo, but atleast now I have the green android guy having his belly "moving stuff" and the blue led is glowing
Nah seriously this is getting annoying ... IDK what to do next ... Cure it with lawnmower ?

Phone model on motherboard

Hello XDA community,
Recently I ordered a second hand motherboard (from chinese third party) for my old LG G3 to have it as a secondary phone (for waze and whatever, to not affect my note 20 ultra battery ) and when I received it and replaced the old one (which had BSOD) everything seemed to be fine, but it wasn't because in fact it had a firmware version LGD855-V10m-ISR or something like that and I couldn't update it from official means. I said "no problem", root it, flash custom recovery and flash LineageOS to have new software on it. I managed to root it with OneClickRoot script but when I tried to enter recovery i was surprised to find out it wouldn't work (tried physical buttons, software, ADB - nothing works). When trying to boot to recovery, a "Fastboot has started" screen shows up (but device isnt in fastboot in fact because fastboot tool doesnt detect it). The only thing that worked was Download mode, but when i tried to flash LGD855-V10-eur (which i remember i first had on old motherboard) with LG FlashTool, it failed (some error about partition change at 6%) and also erased the system and now only Download mode is available. Now my question is: where can I find the model on the motherboard because i doubt this is a simple D855 and the firmware version differs. Also some context: now the LGFlashTool says state "READY" on the com port but won't start a software flash when i plug the USB in, LGUP said model unknown from the beginning. I didn't manage to find it by myself on the motherboard (maybe i need a magnifier or something) and I'm requesting your assistance.
where did u buy the motherboard from
