"Google Now" command comes stock with JB. Press down the Home icon and slide up to the Google circle, and press the Mic Icon on the top right. Ask Google now a question or say "Call Mom mobile" and if you have Mom mobile listed in your Google contacts it will call it.
There are many other "Personal Assistant Android apps" out there like Robin, Sherpa, Speaktoit, etc etc.
I have not used any of it but it seems to work well according to the review. There is also a Motorola bluetooth in-ear hands-free that uses a Motorola Android app from Google market (I forget the name) that works very well with SMS messages. It reads text mesgs back to you, you can speak to it and it automatically sends the SMS text mesg. Works very well.

I just got a z5 compact, and i installed the usual sony apps, including the call handling smart extension.
But I have a problem that the app is not available on the smartwatch, so I get no notifications of a call.
Anyone have ideas on how to fix it?

Hi Guys,
Phone is a LG-H815 LG G4 running 6.0, purchased from Kogan (who import Chinese stuff into Australia), it's unbranded, kernel for OS is 3.10.84, build MRA58K.
My last phone was an Xperia Z1 and had Voicemail built into the phone (you could go into call settings and record voicemail etc, and it would save voicemails to the phone), so i'm just wondering whether this has a pre-installed voicemail. When I go into phone call then Voicemail my only service is "my carrier" and setup requires voicemail number (i.e. carrier based voicemail).
Is there a stock app that isn't installed or is there an option I'm missing, or does the G4 not support on-phone voicemail?
If not, and considering Google Voice is unfortunately not available in Australia, is there another stock App that will allow me to use on-phone voicemail?
Thanks guys
Some g4s had visual voicemail i never used it. Its not on the phone i just press and hold 1 on the dialpad and it dials out to voicmail which is on a server
Dont know in austraila but in us we just dial out phone number from phone and it goes to voicmail

Yeah we use a similar system, our mobs tend to charge you for it, plus you have to listen through the mailbox to find a specific message etc. Z1 stored it all locally and didn't use a network based voicemail so you could just open up your calls and press play. I'll try find an aftermarket download or rom or something with visual voicemail then, thanks

Hello all! Two weeks ago I updated to the most recent version of Google Hangouts (v20.XXX). I also have been using Google Voice with my GV # in conjunction with Hangouts on android 7.0 for several months. Last week, however, I updated my Xperia Z5 premium dual via OTA to 7.1.1 while on a business trip to another part of the U.S. Immediately, I could no longer make a voice call. Though I had GV setup to always use my GV # for calls, now each call attempted presented me with a splashscreen option to use the carrier # or my GV #, and no matter which I chose switched to the Hangouts Dialer to complete the call. However, when I attempted to make the call then (by touching dialer button), a splashcreen opened saying that I can't join a call already in process, and offering to either "Close the Program" (Hangouts Dialer) or "Cancel". Cancelling brings you to the Dialer with the call supposedly in process, but never connecting to the recipient. In Safe Boot, the phone didn't have access to Hangouts, and was successful in making voice calls. I tried reversing updates to Hangouts, clearing cache and data, all without success. I finally had to simply disable Hangouts and uninstall Hangouts Dialer, and now my calls are completed normally. Since everything with my setup was working prior to 7.1.1 just fine, I have to think that there is a problem between the latest version of Hangouts and/or Hangouts Dialer and android 7.1.1 (or perhaps Sony's version of 7.1.1 for our phone). Please let me know if my experience helps anyone else, or if you've also had this problem.
I need to enable calls recording both for regular phone calls AND for WhatsApp calls (eventually even VideoCalls, but just audio would be enough)
I keep stumbling upon threads about the native phone caller from Samsung, but this would not help with Whatsapp
Either or I stumble upon threads stating there is no way out since the 12 may 2022 Play Store modification (thus ACR Phone will still work with a companion app you should download from their own website, but as far as I understand...it would only work with regular phone calls (not whatsapp)
Could someone help me with a recap about that?
Would rooting the phone allow me to effectively use software like CUBE ACR (working properlly with Android 9 on my old (now death) Nokia 7 plus)
