Hey
I want to get a smartwatch for controlling music and reading notifications maybe even answering them
Is it possible with the sw2?
Notification and music yes.
Answers notification is more difficult. You have some apps for SMS but not for all others. No mic and not real keyboard so....

Hi guys, is it only me who have problems with notification sounds on Arc?
I love the phone in general but this particular feature is implemented horrible in my opinion.
There is only one notification sounds switch for all such sounds in Settings -> Sound -> Notification Ringtone.
If it's on the phone beeps every time when I get an email. This is very annoying, especially if you have many email accounts set up. If I turn it off it doesn't make any sound notification for calendar events which sucks.
Sms beeps still work when notifications are off, I don't really understand how it works and how to change it.
What do you guys do about it? Is it possible to have sms and calendar notification (better different sounds) and at the same time turn email sounds off?
Thanks.
EDIT.
Ok, I actually found what I was looking for. Sms application and calendar have their own settings for sound notifications. Haven't seen them before.
Am i being daft ?
I have a group set up ... how do i send a text to all the group members in ICS ?
from the messaging app it wont let me 'select' contacts. If i type the group name it doesnt find it. From the contacts app it wont let me send an SMS to the group ....
Do i need a third party app for this ??? (ive used GO SMS or Handcent in the past but i thought there would be a facility for it in raw ICS!)
I couldn't find a way to do this either so ending up downloading GO SMS
Why haven't Google done anything about this? Nokia's Symbian phones had by far the best mass SMS capability; just scroll down your contacts and tick... why can't Google do that??
Any update on this? Definately no native support for mass sms?
Yeah this is pants, It lets you create groups, but you cant do anything with them. Dont understand why this feature would be left out as its obviously in previous Android builds... wierd.
A lot of people seem to look down on Sense in preference to stock Android and I understand that this phone is for those that want a pure google experience...
...I have to say though I'm missing a lot of the little features I had with my HTC Desire.
So which third party app works best with ICS? Handcent was pretty rubbish on my Desire.
Another thing annoying me is when I'm listening to music/podcasts with through Poweramp, and I receive a text- I get the alert tone in my earphones and my music/podcast volume drops and then comes back up after the tone has finished. Does the stock music player do the same thing?
I'd prefer my music/podcast to pause while the tone is playing or play simultaneously with the tone (preferably with the tone at a lower volume) other wise I end up missing a good few seconds of what I'm listening to; Not always a big deal with music but can be quite annoying with podcasts.

[email protected], you're becoming the watchman for this forum, looking out for repeat postings lol. I wish Chris can just delete them or move them to the appropriate thread. I've been seeing so many new thread pop up lately asking the same questions we've been discussing a couple of months ago. As usual, nobody tries to search for it first.
Anywho, I just wanna mention one thing too regarding notifications. My situation is the opposite to what some people are experiencing. When people say they don't hear the notifications through the headsets, I can hear mine on the headsets AND on the phone as well. Yes, what I'm trying to say is that the notification rings on both the headset as well as on the built in speaker WITH the headsets PLUGGED IN. I didnt realize this until one day I was in the bus and had only one headset on and turned of the music when a text came in and i heard it on the free ear. I was like omg, have the other passengers been hearing this loud notifications all these times (I text a lot and thought they never heard anything) and I felt really bad.
Then I found out that the only way for notifications to not be heard on the built in speaker is to enable silent mode, in which the phone only vibrates. The funny part to that is that all notifications including ringtones still work normally on the headset, so I can hear notifications still without bothering people. I just have to remember to take it of silent mode once I disconnect the headset.

Thanks for the heads up! Weird that there are so many different symptoms of essentially the same issue - routing of notification audio.
Hi all,
my Google Now reminders fail to vibrate. The reminders will vibrate and play notification sounds on the phone though, but on the watch I can only see the card if I occasionally activate the display.
Actually those Google Now reminders would be extremely helpful as I can quickly set them up by voice command, but the missing vibration renders them useless.
Is it just me or does anybody else have this problem as well?

I am actually surprised hardly anyone is commenting about the issues with Google Now on the watch. It makes me believe my watch is damaged somehow.
Since the upgrade to 1.4 Google Now is very inconsistent. I get cards on the phone and not on the watch, not even a vibrate. I installed "Feel The Wear" and get vibrations but no cards. I have to open the Google app on the watch to see what was the notification.
Integration with Google Now was the reason I chose Android Wear instead of Samsung Gear.
Now it seems Google does not care about Android Wear.
I was also surprised that there was no feedback to my thread here. I was also searching different sites and found evidence, that there is indeed a problem with the Google Now reminders.
Example:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidWear/comments/45jfym/google_reminders_will_not_cause_the_watch_to/
But I still don't know if it is not working for everyone. It would be good if someone who has working vibration notification for Google Now reminders could comment on this thread.
I guess the question should be be:
Who is having NO problems with Google Now on this watch?
I haven't had any issues with Google Now but I don't use it for a lot of things other than sports scores and weather.
I have a new A5 2017. I DON'T play music on it but I PLAY A LOT OF GAMES.
It's really annoying me that when I get a message or email or something a notification pop up appears and obscures part of my game and I have to wait for it to go away before I can carry on playing.
I don't seem to be able to find how to stop this without turning off all notifications. I don't really want to do this. I will know which app a notification is from because of the sounds I have allocated to them. I don't play music so I don't mind how much noise they make. I just want to get rid of the pop up messages.
Can anyone out there help me please?
It's very simple actually7, specially on samsung phones like this one. Just install "game Launcher" app from the Galaxy Apps, enter the app and enable "Game Tools". That will enable a floating button on every game you play, where you can diassable alerts while playing, block the navigation buttons and even record your gameplay (internal sound supported).

Do not disturb mode mutes all calls and alerts on your device, unless you set them as exceptions. You can set Do not disturb mode to turn on and off automatically at scheduled times.
