There is no city, state etc. fields in the address in the Contacts app.
It all gets put into one block of text.
When I import into other contact applications, like my Mozilla Thunderbird, the city field is not used.
Is there some trick to entering the city or is that feature simply not there?
My Galaxy S3 had all address fields separate and worked perfectly.

Does anyone know of a way that you can pick a different "from" e-mail address? I have multiple accounts, but am using Google to POP all the accounts, which I then access via Google's Microsoft Exchange with Active Sync. Whenever I reply (or send new messages), the messages are all preset with the gmail address in the From line, when I would prefer to be able to choose different addresses be entered in the From line.
I also have a Verizon WirelessSync account which also uses a single From address.
The reason I don't want multiple accounts setup in Outlook Mobile is because:
1) There's a limit of six accounts, and I have 13 e-mail accounts
2) Popping addresses every so often eats significant battery juice
TIA
I don't know if this will work for the way you are doing it, but Google Mail has a way to set a different "From" address, so that it looks like you're sending it from another account and not Google.
Go into "Settings", "Accounts and Import" and add your desired "From" address into the "Send Mail As" section.
I am aware of that option in Google, but that only applies to web-based mail. In other words, you have to be viewing your mail online via their web-based interface in order for that to work.
That's why I asked if someone knew of a way, or had a hack, to "open up" the From address field in mobile Outlook.
HTC Sync, between Outlook (all versions) and Android, will only sync the first 25 characters of a street address. At work, our street address easily exceeds that. So basically, I have over 60 contacts on my phone with about half the street address that it should have-- obviously unusable data.
Is 25 characters for a street address field such a tall order???
Allow me to elaborate: I work in a business complex that has a single street address (17 chars). Then, add the building ID in the complex, and you're already up to about 25. Oh, then there's the suite number too (the S from Suite or "Ste" won't even make it into the sync).
This is a serious botch on the part of HTC. The Android OS can easily handle over 25 characters in the Street Address field. I verified by manually entering the truncated data, once the contact was added to my Evo.
Fortunately, HTC Sync will not overwrite the "full" version of the street address I have in Outlook, with the truncated one. It obviously only matches on the first 25 characters of each when it does its field comparison.
Is anyone else having this issue? And if so, what are you currently doing about it as a workaround?
Frankly, I'm surprised this hasn't gotten much attention.
I can't seem to find certain fields in my "People" app. Specifically, if I add a person (spouse, child, manager etc) to a contact in google contacts, that field doesn't show up on my Evo in People.
Just to clarify. If I create a contact, either on my phone, or on google, they sync fine. But, if I then add a person (relationship) field to that contact, I can't seem to find that field on my Evo. Although, it is clear that correct syncing is going on. It is just missing the person field.
Is that field not synced? Is there a way to sync it? Is that field just not displayed by "People"? If so, is there some other application that can display it?
I did try a few other contact viewers from the Market, but I still could not find that field.
I don't think that field is synchronized.
Hi all,
Is there a decent email app out there that remembers the email addresses you have used in the past..ie that has an automatic address book and then auto completes addresses as you type them..? It would be nice to have the options for things like add all replied to addresses to address book and stuff like that.
Nearly none of my contacts have associated email addresses, just regular mobile numbers so unless I am replying to a message I dont have the email address to hand.
Thanks
Was there a recent system or phone app update that changed the behavioral display of contacts in the phone app? I have multiple GMail accounts, one has all my phone contacts, the other is only used for email purposes. I just noticed this on my phone today where my phone is displaying email addresses as separate contact entries in the phone app. Those addresses are people I have written to with my separate GMail account, but are not in my address book. If I launch the Contacts app, I can filter those email addresses out. But the Phone app doesn't eliminate them.
How do I configure the phone app to display only the contacts from a single GMail account?
