Root status unknown ? - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys i have a SONY Z5 PREMIUM E6883 , i bought on Ebay brand new and unlocked, had it turned on with T-MOBILE, I got the unlock code from SONY for the bootloader, FASTBOOT/ADB would not unlock it for me so i used FLASHTOOL it shows my imei # and unlock code, to unlock so i did it said complete, back to service mode on the phone it says "ROOT STATUS UNKOWN" so i tried to flash a couple different recoveries made for the Z5P, i get quite a few different errors such as, if I type {fastboot devices} my serial number comes up ok { fastboot flash boot z5_stock_fixed.img } I get { target max download size of536870912 bytes, error cannot load ‘z5_stock_fixed,img’ its the same with {fastboot flash recovery recovery.img} and if I run {fastboot oem device-info} I get { FAILED : remote: unknown command } I can relock the bootloader with flashtool, and it will give me bootloader unlock allowed : yes, I would be really thankful for help I can get , getting rooted and TWRP installed, if it can be done remotely I’m willing to pay, {screenshots and saved logs here}

We are in a big forum, and anyone can answer when he wants.
However, you have make an "erase cache" before and after flash the boot.img?

certo che l'ho fatto...ma non capisco niente...
No, also my pc use VLC for open this, but this isn't the problem because i don't have the issue, i've used my unlock_code.bin at least 5 times.
And it alsways work.
In HTCdev, you choise "other all supportated device" (if i remember right)? And did you copy your token right without info in each row?
so any idea why my htc won't boot into rom??
As i read this all, i would give this a go on a windows 7 pc
And while im at it .... what is your hboot version ?
hboot is 1.36
got it all solved using in linux just had the wrong firmware.zip from xda because the o2 germany one is different from the o2 uk one just flashed through my mind today^^
but why is it that in adhd 18.2 my sim is not recognized? i used it in my old n97 mini took it out out in my htc wont work so i took it out put it back in my nokia and it worked there

OTA Update Location

Hi,
I made this stupid mistake of forgetting to turn off the OTA auto update. Now that it's already downloaded, I'd like to know where this update file is at so that it doesn't get updated and mess with my root. I can't even restart without starting the update process. Please help.
Please be more clear.
If you want the update files dowload location they are in internal storage , folder name is started with hw.....( I forgotted i remembered it was like hwota)) In that folder it was stored.

Hi guys,
i tried to update the new OTA B183 and as you know it didn't work since i have twrp already installed on it, i would like to know how i can restore the official recovery.img so i can update.
I already tried to extract the recovery.img and to put it in internal storage but i could not find it in twrp for encryption reasons (many folders with strange letters on it) and putting the recovery.img on external sd card and flashing it ended to an error...
What is the proper process to get the original recovery and to install it ?
Do i need to decrypt, format data and use a kernel fileencryption ?
I'm kind of lost because i don't know where to find the proper original recovery.img and the kernel fileencryption.
I know how to flash, fastboot, root, but for this process, i would appreciate a step by step
My honor 8 pro is a DUK L09, European version, running now with B130 update.

How can i slove "Your device is corrupt"

At the first, I was erased all the data and system.
And i got a critical mistake for erasing storage data.
I try to flash google stock image 8.1.0 (OPM1.171019.013, Jan 2018).
"Your device is corrupt" was occurred.
So, i did :
Fastboot flashing lock
Fastboot flashing unlock
And to flash google stock image again.
Then try to flash my original rom 8.0.0 (OPD1.170816.025, Nov 2017).
Unfortunately, "Your device is corrupt" appears again.
Now, i can open adb and fastboot mode, but no recovery and system.
Also, I have twrp backup to restore.
What should i do???
fastboot flashing unlock_critical
flash your original factory image, get stock working, then do whatever you planned on doing.

and reboot to bootloader.
Also, i cant' start the system and "Your device is corrupt" again.

How to do test point after show THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN DESTROYED

After upload 10.2.9.0 my phone was bricked with this message. The system has been destroyed:silly:
I have tried all the methods that exist for other Xiaomi phones because this is very new and I do not find tutorials for this mobile and whenever I do the test point and give it to flash it gives me the following error
dump error: <? xml version = "1.0" encoding = "UTF-8"?> <data> <log value = "ERROR: Only nop and sig tag can be recevied before authentication." /> </ data> <? xml version = "1.0" encoding = "UTF-8"?> <data> <response value = "NAK" /> </ data>
I have tried with China stable rom, China developer, global stable. I have tried with 3 cables. It always gives the same error
I resort to the test point because I can only enter Fastboot, I can not go into recovery. I do not have a Xiaomi account associated in my Device and neither do I have debug usb enabled. My last option was the test point.
It reached the step where the pc recognizes me as Qualcomm 9008 and when I flash the fastboot decompressed rom I get the error mentioned above.
Let's see if someone helps me tell me where I do it wrong.
Please help me

FIXED IT (at least temporarely)
- boot into fastboot mode. press volume down and power until you see the mi bunny.
- install and run minimal adb and fastboot on a pc
- plug phone to pc
- run "fastboot devices" you should see a line with device id & fastboot
- run "fastboot continue"
wait for it
tadam you will be back into the old miui 10.2.9.
first thing you should do is dev options, mi unlock and bind phone & account. (that way you can then unlock)

after you unlock you should have options that werent there on locked:
- twrp from fastboot, format and custom rom
- miflash the latest tgz
havent tried any myself, still on locked, waiting time 6 days
or you can just fastboot continue on each restart, xiaomi should fix the update eventually...

Moto G5 (Cedric) bootloader won't unlock. Adb says unlocked

Hi. I have unlocked several devices before and only this phone is getting on my nerves. I have followed every steps exatcly as on forums to unlock my bootloader. On adb it says "Done. Phone will restart now". After this the phone reboots back to fastboot and "Oem locked" status is still there (Phone gets wiped after this process). I have tried to install twrp but it just wont due to locked bootloader. In adb it says "Preflash validation failed" and on device bootloader logs it says "Recovery size misatch". What can I do to force unlock its bootloader?
Fyi: I have tried updating android versions (Noughat to Oreo) and several Twrp versions yet it wouldn't work

Can you do a simple screencast and link it?

Software channel is "reteu" on mine. I can't screencast right now but I can assure you that there's no error message anywhere while unlocking. On cmd it says Done. On phone it just restarts back to bootloader. No new logs are there. And there should be an error message after unlocking right? Well that doesn't appear as well.

Now do the the following
Copy and paste this line exactly - do not type it to avoid typos eg putting 0 instead of O
Code:
fastboot oem unlock GOSZ2EGP7B7G3Z5NQLUN

As long as it's entered correctly it should unlock
Apart from trying a different USB cable, not using any USB hubs or trying it on a different pc there's nothing else I can suggest as that is the unlock code from Motorola for the device unlock data
You could try flashing different firmware and then trying to unlock it
