My phone randomly rebooted today and then got stuck in a bootloop.
After a few restarts the phone then sorted of booted but claimed that the data was encrypted and it asked for my lock pin. The phone then confirmed that the pin was correct but that the data was corrupted.
I then tried to boot to recovery. After doing POWER + VOL UP I get to the HTC FTM mode and then when selecting Reboot to Bootloader the phone just gets stuck in a bootloop and after a while it goes back to the "Your phone is encrypted" screen.
So I tried going to the download mode and it get stuck in a bootloop with the silver HTC logo (the one that pops up when you go into the download mode).
I cant seem to find a thread that deals with the issue I am experiencing. Any and all help will be appreciated.
So it got a little better and a lot worse.
I was able to get into recovery but download was still messed up.
I then tried a lot of things, including recreating the /data partition which didn't actually help.
I even tried flashing the hsod_signed.img from the RUU, that didn't help to fix the download mode.
I tried that because I can't get into RUU or download modes.
And now after flashing a stock recovery it then won't boot into recovery either.
This is the result after flashing twrp-3.0.2-0-hima.img
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-hima.img

So as it stands I can't boot into recovery or download mode.
Failed to boot to download mode
Failed to boot to recovery mode
I can fastboot, so I am hoping people can just tell me how to fix it... or have I completely bricked it.

Hi
I have tried going back to Sense stock after trying out GPE edition lollipop flavour.
Unfortunately somewhere along the way something has gone horrible wrong and I'm now stuck in a bootloop with a Red Triangle
My bootloader is currently locked, althougth I am S-Off. I can still access fastboot and RUU but the problem is when I try to flash standard or twrp recovery i get the following error message
From RUU
./fastboot flash recovery recov.img
target reported max download size of 1830711296 bytes
sending 'recovery' (16092 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.442s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 1.447s
So I currently have no os, no recovery and no way of loading a recovery back on as you can see above... am I screwed ???
Have now managed to put stock recovery back (via ruu) on and at the top of the screen it says entering recovery but never gets any further ...
Have tried again to install twrp ... no joy there what so ever
Dont' Worry I got the same problem but I fixed it!!

Press power, volume up and down for 90 seconds. It will enter into bootloader.
Then press recovery. If it is not going to recovery, stay in the bootloader mode. Connect to the pc.
Download this software from this website.

Click your phone model.
(If it is HTC ONE M8 CLICK this link http://www.hasoon2000.info/?device=One%202014%20(M8))
Unzip it.
open the software.
Unlock the bootloader by following the step shown on the software.
After,
Click any recovery but I prefer TWRP.
Install custom rom and you are good to go
Absolute legend ... thank you !!!
so after years of playing with my m8 and flashing different roms and recoveries, it seems to have had enough. maybe not tho, maybe someone can help. if i turn on my m8 it will show splash screen with red writing on bottom as disclaimer then shuts off... it will only stay on if i hold power and volume down to bring up loader, fom there i can still access fastboot but nothing else, cant get to recovery. it just shuts off.. i figured i would try reflashing a new recovery and try again. nothing, just powers down device. i grabbed one ofthe all in one toolkits to try and push a recovery , says it works but still wont boot into it tried pushing a new rom zip and i get this message target reported max download size of 1826414592 bytes
sending 'zip' (662028 KB)...

Proper recovery version depends on your current firmware. I can advise more, if you do fastboot getvar all, and post the results (delete IMEI and serial number before posting) and what recoveries you tried.
Also, you may try fastboot erase cache, and then fastboot flash the proper recovery version.

Hi All.
Just bought a Wileyfox Swift. I'd like to install Lineage OS.
Reboot into bootloader, fastboot sees correctly my phone.
I run "fastboot oem unlock-go", my data gets wiped, then "fastboot reboot" and Android starts optimizing apps. Fine.
I go back into bootloader, now I try to flash TWRP:
Code:
# fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.3-0-crackling.img
target reported max download size of 268435456 bytes
sending 'recovery' (16908 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.532s]

I reboot, Android starts correctly, power off. Go back into recovery but I still have the original Cyanogen recovery, no TWRP. What I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any hint!
If you are on the fastboot screen after flashing you should just select recovery and go there
There's no selection menu in fastboot mode on this phone. To go back into recovery I have to power off the device and power on again with volume-down + power button; but the recovery I got into isn't the TWRP I flashed but still the original cyanogenos recovery.
Pull battery after flashing recovery via fastboot. Then boot straight into recovery (not fastboot, not normal ROM), TWRP should be there.
My Lenovo Z2 Plus suddenly stopped booting. I get the initial screen that confirms unlock with the Start option at the top right corner and then get a blank screen. A long press takes me back to the same screen. I tried to get into the recovery, and though I though I was getting the same blank screen, one of the long presses on the power button did actually get me into the recovery. When I tried doing a wipe of Cache and Dalvik Cache, I saw a brief progress and I got the blank screen again. Then I got into the fastboot mode after a couple of tries (the experience was erratic, similar to the recovery), so I tried to flash recovery and it was stuck:
Code:
$ ./fastboot -i 0x2b4c flash recovery twrp-3.2.1-0-z2_plus.img
target reported max download size of 1610612736 bytes
sending 'recovery' (18452 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.414s]

Could someone please help me recover this phone?
This just turned out to be a boot loop triggered by the low battery charge (close to 0%) and the AICP ROM aborting the boot process. After leaving the phone connected to charger for sometime, it booted back up just fine.
Here is how I proceed and stuck in bootloop :
[email protected]:~$ fastboot -i 0x0bb4 oem unlock
...
(bootloader) Start unlock flow

[email protected]:~$ fastboot reboot

But, neither device is going to off nor anything is happening, just Powered by android logo is showing.
How do I go into recovery mode or switch off the phone.
Kindly help me.
I can only try to suggest, as I don't have your device.
Try variuos combinations :
Just before device is blacking out
1. Press Vol up (Keep pressing) ,wait till it vibrates and the original logo appears. If the recovery you flashed is stock or a working custom recovery, it will open into recovery mode. Then you can do what you want i.e. wipe data ,etc.
2. If the above doesn't work, try with pressing both Vol up and Vol down. Usually Vol down is for fastboot mode.
But, the question is which recovery have you flashed? Is it stock/custom and was it working for you earlier?
Is your rom a custom or stock rom ?

Thanks for your reply. I tried all efforts by pressing volume up and down both the ways, but phone just switch on and off automatically, nothing else. It is not going into recovery nor into fastboot mode. I don't know why after successful flashing the recovery, which I have down in OP, why phone is automatically in auto switch on and off mode. My device is YU6000 which is having stock rom and recovery.

I don't know details of your device bootloader etc. ,but this link has information of flashing Twrp recovery and rooting.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ted-twrp-recovery-yureka-note-yu6000-t3613896
Also, I think you will have to use SP flash tool to flash boot.img and twrp. it should solve your problem.
you will have to install mtk vcom drivers for sp flash tool.
(About battery, last option is to remove cover and battery connector, which is risky.)
@GirishSharma
You can try flashing YU6000 factory image. Since there is no official files released (I'm not sure though) by YU, you can download from Firmwarefiles. You can watch YouTube videos for instructions.
Yes, that can be done by YGDP tool, or SP flash tool. as per the image type.
