I'm not super happy with the DEFY camera. Other than that this phone rocks.
BUT I had a Moto Milestone XT701 for 6 months before getting a DEFY and the 5mp camera on that phone took the best pictures in any light, under any conditions. The DEFY struggles with too much light and the autofocus nowhere near as good as the XT701.
I know there was a software fix to get the XT701 up to 8mp, anything like that for the DEFY, or any other tips/comments on the camera?
Snow photos on defy looks AMAZING and ****ing clear!!
On light days the photo quality is amazing.
Not recomend take photos on night but the aufocofus is really GOOD, take a look
EDIT: if you don't see the photo at full screen, you might think is a professional photo camera =)
So I made a post (not thread) about the front facing camera on the note 3 in the cm11 rom thread.
I noticed the kit kat camera did a way better job with low light and good saturation. On the note 3, the camera can have a tan deadish color .. The quality on the kit cat cam was HTC one quality or iPhone quality
The issue with the kit kat camera was that the picture was blurry after you snap the shot so it's unusable for me. Being as though the quality could be so good in the kit kat cam and have trouble when it's not really light out on the touchwiz camera tells me that it's the software with the camera app that Samsung provides.
I actually tried a bunch of other camera apps out and none of them seem to produce great quality like the kit kat one did because the highest they go in resolution is 1.3mp when this camera is 2.1mp.
Anyone notice this?

The front camera is the same sensor as the back camera on the Nexus 5 - and having both phones I can say right off the bat that both cameras on the OP3 smoke the hell out of the Nexus 5, there's just no competition. The front camera on the OP3 is subject to quite a bit of noise (more than you think) when it's not being post-processed by the camera app

but thats weird that front cam is better than rear one in low light
Everyone says due to the broken camera HAL, photos taken by the 5T running a custom ROM is bad. Since I'm upgrading from the OnePlus One, is the camera quality worse than the One? Or similar? I know there is the Google Camera mod but zooming in causes white dots in photos so let's leave that out of this thread.
I don't know about the OP One, however I will say coming from the Nexus 5X, I think the 5T camera was a bit over hyped. Its by no means bad, either though. On Lineage, I can say Snap has improved quite a bit. The pictures it takes I think are fine. I wouldn't say they are bad at all.
With time I think the google camera problems will be sorted out. They have already sorted out quite a few issues with it.
In good light it's near on perfect , bad lighting you get the van Gogh effect
Gcam with HDR enhanced is way better than OOS cam in low light
The photos on my op5t came blurred especially when I am taking photos of my kids or people that are moving.. What can I do? The cameras on the op5t supposed to be good.. The front camera though is great and Sharp..
I tried different camera app without any luck.
Suggestion anyone?? Please.. I don't want to replace my op5t the beast to Samsung device only because the camera, that is very important to me.
