Dears,
As I'm a totally new Android user I have bought my z5 premium and rooted it. Unfortunately I lost my DRM forever but trying to cope.
I have downloaded the new camera app update v2 but each time I try to install it I get the error message app not installed.
Any idea how can I fix this and check for regular updates after losing my DRM?
Thanks and I appreciate your support.
Most likely can't. The proprietary camera software is one of the things that breaks with lost DRM keys. Here is a thread explaining how to attempt to restore them.

Did you unlock your bootloader?

Modifying the system apps/settings without Unlocking bootloader causes that. Did u delete sprint apps with a root app manager? Did u use freegee to unlock bootloader? If no to Unlocking bootloader download freegee from play store, run it (root needed) and give it another go

You'll need to use LGNPST.
You can go to the irc. And dl it there along with the bins.
The root guide will help you, and the teeny bin thread both will walk you through everything. In teeny bin thread, go to Additional info at the bottom of that section.

Also updating a ROM based on ZVC for a ZVB will do it too. Learned that last week. Lol
Hi,
I have a few questions. First, I would like to update the YouTube app on my Xperia Play, but it doesn't show up in the Google Play Store. My phone is rooted and running Android version 2.3.2. So, is the latest YouTube app compatible with it?
Second, if my phone's OS is too outdated to do anything useful, is there any safe way to update it without losing root access or personal data?
Third, my phone has an 8GB microSD in it, and I'm able to use it. The SD has 7.38 GB left. I'm trying to download a 1.5 MB app, and it says that my phone has insufficient space. I think it's because it's trying to save it to the built-in storage. Is there a fix to this? Thanks.
For your third question, search the market for the app MarketFix.

Apps to sd or a similiar app works like directory bind. Yes it is your internal storage. You can update without rooting up to 2.3.7 using the sony updater. You can update beyond that if you unlock your phone and install a kernel and rom.

So let me get this straight. I get the Sony PC Companion for Xperia Play (http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/), and I update the firmware to 2.3.7 without losing root? I spent a while rooting it on 2.3.2 and it would disappoint me if I lose root access.
And is this the right app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd

Oh yes you will lose root. Rooting on 2.3.7 is easier though only way you wont lose root is if you find a kernel and rom that are pre rooted so your phome better be unlocked.

All methods im aware of are safe. Never heard of anyone losing data from rooting. 2.3.2 is the hardest to root. 2.3.3 easy 2.3.4 very easy to find as well as 2.3.7. Only lose data if you unlock or install a new os

Rooting is not what it used to be like with the first android phones and iphones its very safe! Doomlords methods are extremely safe and usually oneclick! The worst that will happen is it wont root and it will reboot your phone. All of these root methothods have safety features built in whivh automatically clean up your system and remove all traces of root if it doesnt work so that your system will not brick.
The only time ive ever had issues it was always my fault and it only took me a short while to fix. I pretty much ezclusively use doomlord.

ive never used apps2sd. Have you tried using an app to make it a user app. this might work once its a userapp then you should be able to move it over. I personally prefer directory bind. As you can link any folder to the external sd.

It always redirect me to a site gocloudly.com/.......
I don't know what the reason behind that
So if anyone can help please
What i tried:
-tried with another phone on the same network and nothing happend just my d820u
-tried my phone on other network and still redirecting
-flashed the RUU again and tried without any app installed and still redirecting
I will try to add the site to the hosts file to block it (if i find a way to do it systemlessly with Magisk)

So,it's my first time rooting a phone.
I think I understood the boltloader unlocking part, but I'm confused after that.
Also, side question, can the bootloader be relocked after rooting?
I also understand the magisk part,I think, but I'm really unsure about the files I have to download.
So,is there a good guide,or can you guys help me out?
Side question 2 : is it an issue, that I'm running the beta version of Oxygen OS?
Thanks in advance!

Follow his instructions and you are good to go. Works 100% without issues.
Don't relock the phone and it doesn't matter if you have open beta installed.

Because it's not recommended to relock if the phone isnt completely stock. On xiaomi devices you will even brick the phone!

You can't relock the bootloader if you have done any modifications, the device won't let you boot.
For now rooting is a must for the other camera, but there is a new version that comes out (hopefully) soon that enables other cameras without root or any other modifications.
