Marshmallow update issues - advice needed. - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

Hello,
Since the Marshmallow update my phone loses all of my settings, preferences, passwords, permissions, etc. upon powering on after battery drain. I've reset the software, cache, and even installed Marshmallow via the computer update.
I'm out of warranty and don't know my options. Would rooting and installing that software be a potential solution? I haven't rooted a phone since my Incredible.... keep that in mind. Any references on how to do so would be greatly appreciated. Open to other advice.
Thanks!

Rooted my phone, no custom roms will work and now my phone keeps locking up

and for some reason won't connect to certain applications, and is having network issues. Before all this, I recently went to 4.1.2. Decided to try and go to 4.3. I actually factory reset my phone, cleared everything, etc. Went to add a custom rom and it gave me an error. Repeated processes again with different roms, a few separate times. Same thing. Not sure what is going on and is wondering if anyone could give some advice or may have an answer or suggestion to my problem. Thanks in advance
Have you gone through the process of upgrading your bootloader? This is pretty much required for any 4.3 rom. Here is how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321310 Just double check that you are installing the right file for your phone.

How do I revert to 4.4.4 on a stock Verizon M8?

I am on a stock Verizon M8 and just updated to Lollipop. No thanks! My battery is being eaten alive among other issues. How can I get back to 4.4.4 if the phone is completely stock? If I were to do a factory restore, do the updates reinstall incrementally in which case I could stop them before the 5.0 update? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
You can't downgrade OS with a stock device.
A factory reset doesn't do what you think it does (common misconception). All it does is wipe user data, and keeps the current OS software intact. It does not downgrade the OS.
If you did an OTA update and kept your user data, you might backup anything important and do a factory reset anyways. Some bugs after an OTA are related to conflicts with existing user settings or apps. But it might also just be a bug in the update software itself.
The information is much appreciated.

Wifi Won't Turn On at All

Hi,
I've run into a problem - the wifi on my Xperia Z1 Compact all of a sudden will not turn on at all.
The quick settings dropdown for wifi is completely un-responsive and in the main settings menu just slides to 'on' and does not change to blue.
The problem came out of nowhere, with no rooting, unlocking or anything.
So I tried updating the phone's OS - no help. I then did a full factory reset - no help.
I then resorted to running CWM and completely wiped the phone, including all caches and flashed CyanogenMod and there is still no wifi!!!!
This must be a hardware issue? The phone is out of warranty now, so what can I do?
Could it be some firmware or kernel update that I can do?
I'm pretty proficient computer and coding wise and I've flashed different roms to various phones before.
HELP!!! :fingers-crossed:

Downgrade 5.1.1 to 5.0.2 and other issues

Hi,
I have some problems with my Z1C, you guys might be able to help me !
I have a Z1C 5.1.1 rooted with this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/stock-14-6-1-236-customized-lollipop-5-t3264557 which was dirty flashed over this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/14-5-0-242customizedfrpre-t3083055.
- Well first, my battery life has been divided by two with relatively the same usage, especially when I am 4G LTE. Is 5.1.1 known for this battery drain when using mobile data ?
- I have changed my password on an account, and I can't connect to my account using the phone app but I am when using my computer so it really comes from the phone. Weird thing is that, when I switch back to my old password I am able to connect to my account. I thought it came from the Google Smart Lock password stuff, but I deleted the account in question in my Google Account, I have tried to switch it off but no luck either. I have wiped cache, dalvik, boot/reboot, uninstall/install the app in question already so I am kind of stuck.
- Lastly, is it possible to downgrade easily from my current rom to the previous one cited above ? or maybe you can advise me a battery friendly 5.1.1 rom
Thanks in advance!

Lp is not as good on battery as kk in general, but it shouldn't be that bad. Possibly a problem with dirty flash. Backup data and flash clean or try Dsttiker rom.
Yeah, whenever upgrading It's best you always flash over a clean system to avoid problems like these
While downgrading - it is very necessary to clean up Dalvik cache.
Otherwise downgrade didn't work for me what is logical, cache contained stuff which older system didn't recognize.

Factory reset on a corrupted Android OS?

So about a few years ago, I tried to root my galaxy note 4 (n910aucu2doi3), but I guess it rejected the root because it instantly bricked my phone, to the point where I had to completely wipe it using android recovery. The only way to get my operating system back was to download it online and install it through my PC (I had to find the exact version for my phone as well, 5.1.1 at the time, because it rejected every single other version).
Everything seemed to be working fine, except that I couldn't install software updates on my phone anymore. It was permanently stuck on 5.1.1. It was a bit of an annoyance but I didn't think much of it at the time.
Fast forward to now, and I'm getting several signs that my OS may be corrupted. My phone is constantly freezing, crashing and restarting. Maneuvering through applications causes the phone to freeze for a few seconds before either restarting or crashing the app. I want to say it's definitely a software issue, but I did install a new battery recently and it was working fine for a few weeks, could that be the issue?
If not, I want to start over, but I'm not sure how, and I don't know if it's safe to do a factory reset on this OS. Is there anyway I can get a fresh stock version of an android OS that can also update?
Any help is appreciated, I'm pretty much desperate.
I manually updated to 6.0.1 with the help of this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/general/updates-thread-t3663943
It seems to have fixed the issues so far, and my phone can automatically update again
