my zenfone 2 freezes while wiping cache partition and it now does not boot into recovery mode even after pressing volume+ and power key. it shows error only.
i can only boot into fast-boot mode but to upgrade or downgrade i must restart it to recovery mode to clear data and cache and to update/downgrade firmware by ADP or side-load.
while connecting to PC, PC shows android is connected but ADP devices doesn't recognize any device connected in device list. what to do now please suggest. i didn't even installed boot-loader in my cell.
i also want to know how to pull my internal storage files to PC as i didn't backed-up my data because i just want to wipe cache. and it went out to so much of destruction.
Same issue here. I wanted to wipe the cache partition as it was mentioned it could be a possible fix for the flickering screen, vertical lines of discolouration, and freezing of the graphical interface unless the volume is changed/notifications screen swiped down which forces a GPU refresh or something of that sort.
This happened since the latest update to the Asus Zenfone 2 firmware. Please fix this ASUS.
The new way to enter recovery mode when the dead droid bot appear is to hold volume down + power then press volume up then release all button.

Stock ROM rooted. I think bootloader still locked.
Upon turning on lg-v500 there is a message in the corner
"Secure booting error
device unlocked so boot success"
and goes straight to TWRP
Cant restore backup - says successful but goes again to TWRP after reboot with same secure booting error message.
Tried this
Now, you have TWRP right?
Grab an external SD card and load a ROM onto it through the PC (for GPad)
Put SD in GPad, factory reset device.
Now go to install, external sd, locate ROM, Swipe to flash.
After flash wipe dalvik and cache then Boot to ROM.
No luck - result as above. boot to twrp and error message
Want to try this - but can not install usb drivers on 3 laptops, so no connection with lg pc suite
Download LG PC suite and install LG drivers to PC.
Plug LG GPad in PC
Run the LG Suite click Upgrade recovery.
Now it will download stock LG ROM and after download will flash automatically.
Will then reboot after flash.
Hopefully now is fixed.
If hangs at boot screen boot to stock recovery, (power off, power button + Volume down, when LG logo appears let go off all buttons, now press all three in. Will need two hands for it,)
Then get a factory reset prompt, click power button twice to perform a factory reset.
Any ideas, guides please?
That option helped
get the LG mobile support tool, power down the tablet completely (hold power for > 30 secs), hold the vol up and down buttons, and plug in the USB. This will put it in download mode then use the LG program to reset to stock
Nexus 5X - was working fine all this while till about yesterday evening.. then suddenly when i causally checked, it was in powered off state.
Normal press of the power button did not work. No response. Pressed Power button for 10 seconds -- google logo appeared...... and that's about it -- it powered off again when OS/Android started to load. (no android boot animation).
Tried to boot to fastboot -> was successfull. Phone stays alive in fastboot mode.
Tried to boot into recovery (I had TWRP). Again, shows google logo and then when TWRP screen shows up - phone shuts down.
Dont think its a power button issue - since in fastboot/bootloader mode, the power button and rest of the buttons work as expected & the phone does not reboot.
Battery is fully charged using official charger.
Further, in fastboot mode, i am able to access/push .img files - so that way, i could push full factory image (with no errors, including userdata) & relock the boot-loader & also install the factory recovery.
I can now get into factory recovery -- but nothing much.
One thing i noted was, while in factory recovery, if i try "Apply update from SDCard" option, it says its unable to mount /sdcard (error).
The phone was purchased directly from google & is under warranty.
Have had nexus 4, nexus 5 without any issues in the past.
This nexus 5x --- has been replaced once in the past due to yellow screen issues ...
Any help/fixes will be appreciated...

if you press hold power + volume up you go into download mode. there is a thread with all official MM and N roms, so you should be able to install one and hopefully fix your problem. ofc do a clean install
if that does not work, then you might have more luck with lg flash tool to do a factory reset
if nothing works then imo its hardware problem, but since i am not as good at such stuff as most here i refrain to say so

Hi, I have a Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (64 GB). My phone's screen is flickering and I'm trying to do factory reset. It also has other software problems. The thing is that it won't do any factory reset from it's menu and not getting on recovery mode screen when I boot, in order to wipe data. When I press power button and volume up shows the first screen, which have 4 options and whatever I do I keep getting this screen. I can get the recovery mode screen. Is that possible to do something with adb commands?
Hi.
I have a Xiaomi mi5s 64/3 GB in an endless bootloop. Here are the details:
The phone is:
rooted
bootloader unlocked
developer mode enabled
internal storage *not* encrypted
no MIUI account activated
USB debugging on
running the last EU MIUI 9.x development version (don't remember the exact version) with Android 7.0
has TWRP 3.2.1.0 and supersu 2.82
no password is set for unlocking the screen etc.
For some unknown reason the phone suddenly rebooted yesterday and got into an infinite bootloop cycle. I haven't changed any roms recently or done any such flashing. My google play automatic updates were disabled, but a few days ago I manually updated all the apps.
The only odd thing that happened prior to this bootloop, was that when shooting some photos with the google camera mod (same one I've been using for the past few weeks), 2 images were saved as corrupt unreadable files. But that happened a few hours before the bootloop suddenly started.
The current status is:
1. I cannot turn the power off (tried holding the power button, or power button + vol up and down for a very long time --> nothing).
2. I cannot enter recovery mode using vol up + power.
3. I cannot enter EDL using all 3 buttons.
4. If I hold volume down, it enters fastboot but automatically exits from it within 4 seconds (ADB and miflash cannot detect the device in this short period of time). holding the volume down button for a long time has a repating enter-exit-after-4-seconds from the fastboot graphics.
I waited until the battery was completely dead, than started charging it and the status described above was unchanged.
QUESTION 1 - restoring the internal data is my number one priority - does it seem possible here?
To be exact: I want the DCIM folder with the photos+ videos. What should I try now?
QUESTION 2 - I ordered an EDL cable, but am unsure if it supported for my MIUI version. if the EDL cable works, can I force the phone to enter recovery mode from within EDL?
If so - I guess I can copy the internal data to an external USB OTG flash drive I have (that works well with the phone).
If my data is restored, I will then move onto trying to reflash the phone, but at this point this is the least of my worries...
Thanks all.
Anyone?
Maybe it's a problem with the button? I would disassembly the phone and check the hardware.

I don't know - the buttons don't seem like they are stuck in any way. When I push them, they click back out as usual.
Update - I created an EDL flash cable by stripping the cable gently, exposing the green and black wires, and looping them together - connecting this cable to the phone didn't help either.
Maybe I need to wait for the battery to die so the phone will turn off, connect this cable to the phone, keep the power button pressed while I connect it to the usb port in my PC... what do you think?
I have the same problem with mi 5s which started after update. Don't know what to do.
Took the phone to a local lab - it was all due to a faulty power button module.
This morning I was experiencing an issue called "MTP host has stopped" while playing a heavy duty game in my Galaxy Note 2. I thought doing a reset would fix the issue. So I reset my phone then it rebooted in TWRP recovery mode. I then did a clean wipe selecting all the boxes as in data, system, delvik, cache, Sd etc. and rebooted my phone. The phone rebooted fine but it now stuck in Samsung logo screen as I have wiped out my OS.
The worst part is, My power button is already broken. Which means I can't enter into recovery mode by pressing Vol up + Home + Power.
I read other forum topics on whether there's any solution on how I can still enter to download mode. All I found is that I either need a working power button or I need to create or purchase a USB Jig that will help me force my phone into Download mode.
But I would like to avoid using USB jig. Is there a way?? Please Help!! :crying:
