Hey, my previous thread got burried and the problem is kind of different any way, i also did some thinking and i can better explain the issue
I some how managed to try and instal an S3 omega rom on my Note 2
device got stuck in "Samsung galaxy note 2" screen
i turned it on and off, it loaded the stock rom
[*]However there was a problem, the device would hang after the screen would go to sleep
[*]and the pc wouldnt recognise the phone via USB
So i tried to instal the correct note 2 rom, it went smoothly but the screen and usb issue was still there, since then i tried to instal all kinds of stock and not stock roms, the issue is still there, i tried to to a mega wipe, etc, nothing seems to work.
Please help me, im completely lost :<

I tried to install perseus, no dice. :crying:
Don't know what's happening. If you cleaned each partition I.e. cache, dalvik, data, system then it shouldn't be a problem. Trying different kernel doesn't solve it strange...

hello i know i didnt start this thread but instead of oppening another i have the exact problem
somehow i flashed s3 rom and now no usb and if my phone goes o sleep doesnt respond need to reboot it
i have returned it to stock rome and root it again
every time the same thing
well, atleast i know for sure THATS the cause, and that im not the only retard who tried to flash an s3 rom :>
the thing is what can we do to have our phones back to normal
its really annoying having to turn the phone back one ever 10-15 mins
I've been trying to figure this out for the past 2 days, and i dont think theres a solution, what im doing now is trying to reset the flash counter and flash the stock rom, then go to samsung for them to fix it,
whenever i flash any custom rom whether the rom version is android 4.2/4.1.2/4.1.1 , my phone has no bootscreen and a messed up flashscreen when it sais (samsung galaxy note 2 GT-N7100) but then after waiting the appropriate time, the rom works fine but same problem when rebooting... i attached the flashcreen and how it looks like, i have no idea why this happens.i just press the lockscreen after rebooting and waiting and the rom works normally. i rooted using the Galaxy Note II Toolkit v3.0.0 GSM. i first experienced this right after flashing and entering recovery(cmw) but twrp worked fine then, now any rom i flash i experience this,
Is anyone faceing a similar problem or can help in anyway ?
I am using Samsung Galaxy note II GT-N7100

Hi,
I bought my Note 2 about 2 weeks ago and kept it to OTA Updates, until recently updated via ODIN and CWM to a few different Original Custom FWs (PA3, RootBox, Carbon, ETC)
Thing is, i like charging my phone overnight, and it just freezes right when i plug it into the charger if the phone is turned off, even if it's on the power block that came with the phone box or via any usb port in my computer.
I've read that it's the kernel, but i've tried many kernels (perseus, limaro, neak, etc) and it always freezes. Also tried different base (official stock roms from sammobile, but i confess i haven't tried charging with stock because i always root it, and cwm it and custom rom it right away, i have no plans on coming back to stock)
I know this is no dealbreaker, but i'd like to be able to do it, since i only like to charge the phone once in a day, and it's when i'm sleeping.
Appreciate any help, thanks in advance.
Bump!
Factory reset.

I did, CWM Fatory Data/Cache Wipe and didn't work, not sure if it's the same from the rom factory reset option, willing to try (and reinstall everything from scratch) if you or anyone confirms this.
Thanks.

I did, Doesn't work with the original, or with any other, or USB to PC, just freezes, however it works on stock rom, just not any custom rom.
Thanks.
Try a super wipe and flash back stock rom. We need to cross out custom roms.

It charges while off on Stock ROM just fine, Just not on ANY CUSTOM 4.1.2/4.2.2 AOSP/AOKP, went to stock and came back to, say Carbon, or Rootbox with no luck, Still unable to charge while off,
Try not to undervolt it...when you try to undervolt too much there will be freezes when you lock the screen.. i had the same problem..
Thats my advice..
Make full wipe and install a custom rom..at the very first boot..try to access to stweak...grant it root pernission...and overvolt every cpu frequency step by+50mV.
Give it a try...i hope i helped you...ifbyes ..plz hit the thanks button..
If you have further question...feel free to pm me..or start a new thread.

It just started happening to me a few days ago on Jedi Master ROM... was working fine for about a month... if the screen stays off for a while or if it's charging for awhile it locks up... have to pull the battery
Have the same problem on slimbean 4.2.2 rom
Wysłane z mojego GT-N7100 za pomocą Tapatalk 4
Similar problem here, whenever screen is off for more than 8 seconds it will not wake up... Any ideas? I am trying stock roms and others, no solution so far...
Same problem with my GT-N7100.
I've tried both CWM & TWRP. It happens after flashing stock ROM to any of 4.3 AOSP based (CM10.2, ReVolt, Carbon, AOKP). When I'm trying to charge in power-off state, empty battery with white circle on center appears and freezes. Device doesn't charge and the only way to boot something (recovery/bootloader/system) is to reinsert the battery.
Changing build-in kernel to N.E.A.K. didn't help either.
I'm out of options. Please help :crying:
Happened here exactly after downgrading from 4.3 custom back to stock Samsung ROM. Of course lost IMEI but I managed to fix it and after applying ARIZA patch all worked well, however I flashed another stock, bit never and freezing started... Out of options so far as well. I will keep trying.
EDIT: Tried suggested in another thread RECOVERY software, however ODIN fails on sboot.bin every time...
My guess - trouble is in AOSP kernel. For example, if you install any AOSP based ROM and then install N.E.A.K. v2.2x SAMSUNG FW kernel (for TouchWiz) - problem goes away. You can't start ROM after that, but that's not the point.
I think we should post our issue in some kernel development discussion, like N.E.A.K. and hope they find solution.
btw 4.2 and 4.3 ROMs both has that issue.

Just installed Omnirom 4.4.2 on my Note 10.1 (2012) and am having the same issue. As soon as I dock it / charge it when locked, can't unlock and it appears to crash. I did not have this issue with stock.
Any further progress?
Thanks in advance.
Anybody ever found a solution for this? My note 2, N7100 hangs if charged when switched off.
Only when switched off, I shows the battery with the white circle and that's it.
AOSB KK 1.3.6, 4.4.4, krn 3.0.64-CM, latest modem, TWRP etc.

So the tablet sometimes loses touchscreen function. The physical buttons work fine when it freezes, it's just the screen that gets completely unresponsive.
The physical buttons work fine when it freezes, its just the screen.
I don't remember facing this issue in Lollipop, only in Marshmallow. Reseting didn't help.
This issue is similar to this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/help/tab-s-vzw-loses-touchscreen-t3037140
Same problem with my 807R4. Will be in the middle of something and the capacitive buttons and screen stop responding. Tried restoring all available firmwares thru Odin and problem persists. I'm wondering if it's a memory issue? This tablet is a pig with RAM! I would like to flash an AOSP rom to see if it's a memory issue unfortunately my model is snap dragon based and there is only 1 working recovery and 0 custom roms.

Haha across this and my starting doing this as well. I was even thinking of looking for a broken SM-T800 model and swapping the motherboard so I can use ASOP.. but idk.. might not be worth it...
Use the shortcode to access the firmware TSP settings for the touch screen and ensure that all parts have the same build number. If not tap the general update button and it should fix the mismatch.

What is the process for this?
Apparently very common. Have the same issue with my wife's SM-T807R4, the US Cellular version. Also seemed to get worse after MM update. Rooted it a couple days ago and started disabling or deleting the Samsung bloatware but so far it hasn't done anything. One thing that did work, though only temporarily, was clearing the cache with Titanium Backup. After doing this (and it took several minutes), I was able to surf the web (with Chrome) for over 30 minutes without it freezing. However, it started freezing again after a while and now is back to freezing every 2 or 3 minutes. It will however play an entire 2 hour movie without locking up so it definitely appears to be related to the touchscreen.
Update:. I think this may be a hardware issue. I booted into TWRP recovery and had the screen freeze. When booting to recovery, there's not much if any of Android loaded. If it was software related, I don't think the screen would freeze in TWRP.
Udate? Samsung nor Verizon offer update!
