Hi,
I would like to use Shuttle+ but have the problem that when I switch to it from Radio/DVD/MyMusic the current media source does not stop and I get two players playing.
I tried MTCManager but it resets my Joying unit when I cycle through sources (known fault)
Is there a way to stop the current media source?
I though of maybe using Automate/Tasker to kill it then start Shuttle+ however, is there a simpler way?
thanks

Just press the back button to exit the MTC app and then launch the player of your choice.
I've noticed that if you use different storage locations you can achieve that.
on my HU I have:
1-sd card
2-micro-sd
3-usb
4-usb
when I put 2+1 I can use two different apps and the one pauses the other (also radio, if working).
when I tried 3+1 I had to stop one music player in order to hear the other.

I'm going to have to try this. BY 2 + 1 do you mean using a program on 2 and 1?
Dave
thanks all, I'll try these out ;o)

1-sd card means that I have a place for a full SD card on the front [equipped with my wife's music with ShuttlePlayer]
2-micro-sd means that I have a front slot for "MAPS" i guess it is for iGo maps (which I don't have), but it also works as a storage. [equipped with my music with PowerAmp]
Right so what you are saying is if one app is on SD and one is on microsd (/storage/external_sd) they turn off when you switch them?
Exactly, at least on my HU

That is interesting, I may move apps around to see if I can duplicate this.
Thanks

I've just flashed to the Jacko ROM, and am finding that if an mp3 podcast is playing it stops if I press the power button to turn off the screen. Does anyone know how I can configure WM to keep playing the podcast when I press the power button?
I was facing a similar problem with my origninal HTC TPII which came with default T-mobile ROM version.
I upgraded to the following ROM version today and I can now play the music in my media player while turning the device to sleep mode.
ROM Name : WWE RHODIUM Cookie Energy style
ROM Version : 03.Jul.2010 WWE
ROM date: 03/15/10
RADIO Version : 3.45.25.14
May be you can try the above ROM and see if it helps you..
Thanks for the suggestion. Funnily enough I just switched from the Energy ROM to Jackos ROM, mainly because it leaves me with 20Mb extra program memory! I'm not keen to go back to the Energy ROM for this reason.
Thanks for the reply.. I am a newbie and like mentioned earlier, I tried installing the Energy ROM today itself.. I have yet to try the other ROM's and will try them step by step once I am convinced which is better..
Your explanation gives me a valid reason to try Jackos ROM very soon..
Tried to help you, seems I got some additional knowledge.. Thanks again..
Haha, again a funny thread xD
I guess your problems with playing music while suspended are related to SD card problems. Format them, copy your music back to a folder and see if it works! I had never problems with playing music and turning my device off 0.o And I'm listing a lot to music with my headphones or BT headset while traveling.
Why not install the Sk_customs Keep the music playing .cab. It does exactly what you want without changing the rom.

Thanks for the suggestion. OK I just reformatted the memory card then copied everything back to it. Same problem - music stops when I turn off the screen.
Where can I find Sk_customs Keep the music playing? I've never heard of it before.
I ran into this problem and went through all the motions and in the end it was the card itself, the brand, I think it was a transcend 8gig. Got another card, different brand(Danelec or something) and the problem went away

Do you use a 3rd party multimedia player? I found that CoreCodec would not play while the screen is turned off (with the headphone plugged in), but HTC built in audio player plays it just fine.

I use Windows Media Player, but have also tried Pocket Player 4.1.
I'm pretty sure it's not the card that's the problem as it was working fine with the previous (Energy) ROM.

Any News on where to get this?
Cab would be great.
I found the file (don't remember where, and sadly it doesn't work for my phone). Oh wait, I just saw that this is a Tilt 2 thread (I have a Tilt 1): I came upon this thread by googling, not through the menus.
Again use the shk_customs keep the music playing cab does exactly what you want. I use the CorePlayer and it works perfectly for me to keep the music on when the screen or power is off.
Why use a piledriver like a rom change when a small hammer works fine.
Is it just me or is anybody else disappointed with this app? I have the Sony XAV-601BT double din head unit in my car and yes it syncs up (albeit after a bit of messing about plugging things in and starting the apps in the "correct" order), and works fine with the Phone/Navigation/Standard music player, but I was expecting more.
The way Mirrorlink was described (or how I interpreted it) was that my phone screen would be projected onto the radio head unit, not having me forced to use Samsung's limited app and nothing more. I know for a fact that I can access the home screen of my phone because the app crashed on my phone once and closed, leaving my home screen showing, but soon rebooted, locking me back into the Drive app again
The main gripe with this I have is the fact I use the Spotify app on my phone to listen to music. I have managed to get it to play through my car head unit through DriveLink, but cannot control Spotify directly through the head unit other than to skip to the next/previous song and pause/play. I cannot select playlists as the Spotify app is not shown on the headunit, just the basic player (which actually shows the wrong/no track name info at all) - all of which I can do through the bluetooth ADCP, without mirrorlink at all.
Does anyone else know of a way to get out of the Drive Link app and onto the rest of the phone menus whilst still connected to the head unit? Or are there any community created Mirrorlink apps similar to DriveLink that would work instead?
Thanks a lot for any input

You need to remember this is the first release. They've said they will develop it more to include more options.

Yes, I appreciate that, but the ability is obviously there (as I've seen it when the app crashed), they just chose to lock you out from accessing your actual phone.

New version (1.1.012) is out. Apk. SamsungApps
Try putting your parking brake in. Only the car mode on the cellphone work when the head unit is in driving mode.

Hi Raiden2387,
I am also trying to use spotify via Samsung Drive Link application. I can only stream it via bluetooth, but not via Drive Link.
Could you please explain how you could manage at least to skip to the next song?
Would be great help.
Thanks.
I've asked this question before but there were no replies.... I hope this time I'll get some pointers and re-phrase my question better.
I'm using the GSM Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1
Sometimes my music stops playing when switching apps or pressing the home button to return to the home screen, it doesn't happen all the time, but very troublesome when it does. It happens usually just right after unlocking the phone from sleep. I'm using the stock music player
I've noticed that this issued happened to Android phones as well, I tried to update the stock music app, and switched kernels. I don't know what else I can do. I don't recall encountering this problem back in 4.0.4.
Any help would be appreciated

Give us a bit more info:
1. What music app are you using? If it's an app that can both play local media files and stream, which are you doing?
2. Are you playing your music through headphones, the internal speaker, or Bluetooth?
3. If headphones, have you tried other headphones? If Bluetooth, how far away are the devices?
4. Which ROM and Kernel are you using?

I said I'm using the stock music player, Play Music.
I'm playing music through headphones.
I am sure that this problem is not because of the headphones
I'm using the stock 4.1.1 ROM JRO03C. This problem happend on both the stock kernel and Franco Milestone 5
Are you running any other memory hungry apps? Sounds like your music player is getting killed because the memory is needed for something else.
I've had this happen in two instances, so hopefully my personal experience will help you.
The first time, it ended up being a faulty cord in my Nokia Purity HD headphones, I bought a new cord and that fixed my issues.
The second time it was because I was attempting to play music, that I had downloaded in Spotify, but since I was in a crappy coverage area, it would pause the music every time I lost a data connection, even though the music was stored locally. Switching Spotify to offline mode fixed it, so you might try switching to offline only mode in Play Music.
Even if you don't think it's your headphones (for example, you tried them on a PC and they worked), you have to remember that phones have many more contacts inside the headphone jack, used for the media controls in headsets (headphones with buttons and mics), so if there is a short in your headphones that makes the phone think you're pressing the "Play/Pause" button, it wouldn't show in your PC, because most if not all PCs lack this functionality.
Hello all,
My (stock) HTC One X has the following very annoying bug: All music apps randomly pause audio (at any time, screen on/off).
I've tried with Winamp, the stock music app, the plain google music app and Deezer. It happens least frequently with Deezer and most frequently with the stock music app. (Drawback with Deezer is that it doesn't allow you to play music stored on the phone).
Does anyone have a fix for issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm posting a new thread since the existing topics about audio playback seem to centre around distortion or ticking sounds. I don't have any of that, perfect audio until it is randomly paused. Moreover, once it is paused it can't be "unpaused" from the lock-screen for some reason (so this becomes more annoying when driving/jogging/walking).
Rooting and installing a custom rom could be a solution, i just wanted to explore other options first.
Thanks for any help!
Does your headset have button(s)? Maybe you press them without noticing.

You are not alone, I've been having this problem as well. I've tried, winamp, stock, google play and it happens with them all. I just have plain headphone's plugged in.
I can only assume it's another app that conflicting somehow.
I have however enabled the player on my lock screen, so I can re-start from there, but agree it's painful when hands free is required.
So I've searched around for an answer but haven't found anything, so here goes....
I have a stock S3 and when I'm playing music on my phone (stored on the external card) and using headphones plugged in, as soon as the screen turns off, the sound comes through the speaker. I've tried 2 different music apps and they both did it, along with trying 2 different sets of headphones. I have the 2X Battery Saver, which I disabled and tried again with the same result. If I'm listening to Pandora, it doesn't do this, so I'm guessing it's something with the music being on the card? Any direction would be helpful, thanks.

If you have stock and an unrooted, unmodified rom on than this should be app related. Are you using the default samsung music app? Also what version are you running (4.0.4 or 4.1.x) Here are some things to try:
1. go to settings->sound and try to look for settings that may be causing this
2. got to settings->security and try to look for settings that may be causing this
3. go to settings->apps and find your music apps and press clear data on it. Then reboot and try again.
4. I did find a chat room with issues you described. The one suggested solution was this "Unplug your headset, start the music and then plug the headset in, it should reset for you correctly. Could not tell you why that's what I had to do." (Don't know if it works since I cannot test it)
If I have helped, please slap that thanks button
