soft bricked - stuck at boot logo
I tried to flash in ODIN AP and am now stuck at the boot logo "Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+" screen. I'm able to get into download mode and have tried several times to reflash with no luck. I may have screwed up and forgot to select OEM before attempting. Can someone please help?

Had the same issue...
Mine would boot but would stay on.
wiped
flashed tars
Be careful MM is touchie.
Even deleting normal apps you would of on JB can freeze up the system.
If you have tep your fine, just tell them after the last update your phone started rebooting. They replaced mine no hassle. Check out my post on how to get tep if your past the 60 days if you don't have it.
DO NOT USE SAMSUNG WARRANTY WITH TRIPPED KNOXS! ONLY TEP, SPRINT DOESN'T CARE.

Do we have a custom kernel yet for MM? Trying to debate rather to go MM or to stay on lollipop...

Anyone having issues with lag after installing xposed?

Just got a S6 Edge + for a real good price and it came with 6.0.1 PG1. Rooted, TWRP and hotspot, and it's all good so far.
Thanks.

I'm having a problem with xposed. Modules are doing nothing

I have the same problem. tried your suggestion, I get a boot loop after flashing S6 Auto root. I guess I have to wait for Chainfire to come up with an update for S6 Edge.
STUCK - Same Issue
So I'm stuck at the Samsung screen even after using the recommended ODIN version v3.10.6. Does anyone have the factory image for SM-G925T to restore using Kies? Is there something else I can try? I can't get into recovery mode using the posted button combinations.
Hey sorry it didn't work for you. Like I said I was in the same situation as you and sombody suggested it to me in the cf auto root thread and it worked for me. Once again my oppologies
Was the suggestion to use a different root image or a different version of Odin? I have not tried a different root image.

The suggestion was to use different root image. I had already downloaded the Odin that was recommend in the forum I believe the Odin I used was 3.10.6 and I used the galaxy S6 root image. Also I took the first ota before I did this
SUCCESS!!
BINGO!!! I used the SM-G920T root image and it worked!!!!

I haven't had any luck :crying: did anyone encrypt or enabled Knox before trying to root? because I had enabled all those before rooting, maybe that's why I can't root.
I tried rooting my phone yesterday using CF's root for SM-G925T and Odin 3.10.6, but it just got stuck on the boot screen. I tried to fix my phone several times using different versions of Odin, using different computers and nothing, then I just tried one last thing before sending my phone back to T-mobile - I rooted my phone using the file for the regular S6 (SM-G920T) and voila!! My phone came back to life and it's been working great with no issues.
For now make sure to root your S6 Edge using the root method for the regular S6.

Does anyone know what are the differences between G920T and G925T? (And I don't mean 5 ) besides of one being for S6 and S6 edge. Any difference in functionality? (I assume they had a reason for the two variants).
I got the root to work but I can't boot into recovery...the screen flashes and freezes...any suggestions
you folks who successfully rooted; did you root before the OTA, or did you take the OTA, and then root?
thanks, waiting for my phone today!

It wasn't the memory leak fix or cell standby fix I know that lol

I tried the S6 root file and it just bootloops. The S6 Edge file just gets stuck on the bootscreen. Any suggestions?
After rooting, does the Knox flag get tripped to like 0x1? And with the Knox flag tripped, does the fingerprint security still work?
And I wonder if a tripped Knox flag will affect future Samsung Pay functionality?

Flash one of the prerooted roms in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2956667
Read the OP carefully and choose one of the three versions there.
Most use the Hybrid X 3.0 version.
As far as the odin procedure you mentioned, that's for odining twrp custom recovery and it works.
^_yep_^
And if you're wondering what's up with the stock root you attempted, if you took the OG5 update, you need to flash SuperSU zip and a Touchwiz-Android 5.1.1 custom kernel for Sprint Note 4 in recovery prior to boot for the root exploit. The older root tutorials no longer apply; also, they may likely fail to warn you that you cannot flash older stock tars if you updated past OB7.

Root Marshmallow 6.0 Update

Hello I was able to easily root the newly released 6.0 update for the sprint galaxy s6.
First download
Cfroot for the G920F model
Download
Flash with Odin 3.10.6 or higher..
Wait for the script to finish etc and once the phone reboots, force the phone into download mode and flash the stock 6.0 recovery
Download
Then force the phone back into recovery mode and wipe cache then reboot phone back to system
Enjoy rooted 6.0 MM !
Props to the mighty Chainfire and his wizard skills
ok am i waiting when it attempts to boot recovery or just press the buttons to boot it into download again to re flash the stock recovery?
All we need now is twrp. I havent tried this root process yet.

after flashing cfroot you must wait until it finished the process..it will take a min...then after cfroot tells you it's done rooting the phone...you flash the stock recovery

thank you for finding this root method

we got a dump of the stock recovery (im assuming thats what the other file is to flash) so im sure it wont be long till we get a custom recovery:good:
Confirmed, works for boost mobile 6.0.1 marshmallow.
Would TWRP 3.0.0 work with this or are we gonna have to wait for that update? Need my xposed modules for sure
We dont need a MM twrp....the current twrp will work just fine to flash a MM custom rom, someone just needs to make a rom.zip we flash it on top of LP and profit.

Can't we use flashify to install zip files? I've used xposed on stock ROMs before I thought.
will this work for 925p?
Awesome now i can mess with titanium backup. . Thanks Guess supersu is not working it says no su in the binary. Redid the steps i used odin 3.10.7 it didnt boot after the cfauto was flashed it actually booted into recovery is not seandroid enforcing. forced into download mode pushed down restarted again it went to the recovery is not seandroid enforcing screen. So i flashed the recovery cleared cache phone booted thought i was good to go nope lol. Also the same happened when i tried the twrp with odin but i had to flash the rom to get back up and running so heads up.
Guys I would definitely wait for a custom recovery. What if something happens and you have no backup?! Also, you need a deodexed ROM for Xposed to work anyway! This method would be good if all you care about is little stuff like AdBlocking.
you don't need deodexed rom anymore there is an exposed that work on 5.1.1 adn 6.0 but we just need a recovery to flash it.
but i agree i would wait to have a confirmed recovery for marshmallow

What is the correct custom recovery to root the new 6.01 update?

I have tried several versions of custom recoveries to flash via Odin to root the new tmobile 6.01 fireward that was released today and have not had any luck so far.
So far I have tried using the recommended versions of twrp 3.0.2-0 with no luck:

https://dl.twrp.me/zenlte/twrp-3.0.2-0-zenlte.img.tar.html
Has anybody successfully rooted with the 6.01 T-mobile firmware that was released today? If so could you please provide a link with the exact custom recovery file you used.
Thank you in advance.

Search for 3.0.2 nobleltezt twrp and download latest version (This recovery is for Note 5 but works awesome, and S6 Edge+ TWRP stuck or won't boot)
Flash in Odin but remember to uncheck auto-reboot then reboot manually with volume down and power button combo.

Correct, I odined MM from Sammobile for the TMO S6edge+, this morning but could not get rooted and Titanium up and running all day, flashed and odined probably 15 times. Long story short, both firmwares are DPD1, and work fine.
Ok that makes sense. I'm using a COKC 5.1.1 note5 ROM on my edge plus so I guess it's the same principle just on a different Android version.
Thanks

2.in g928t 6.0.1 you do not need a custom kernel?

I just got this phone (SM-928T) and switched to Tmobile 2 days ago. Much happier with-mobile by the way. Anyway, I am on 5.1.1 AOGD and was weary about installing OTA updates so I didn't take incase I wouldn't be able to root. I currently have root via CF-Autoroot for 5.1.1 but, for whatever reason I cannot get TWRP installed on it though. Once I do it, it soft bricks and upon rebooting I get an error in the top left stating "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" I can only get back into ODIN. Recovery doesn't boot. I have to reflash with CF-Autoroot in order to get my phone to boot again. So my question is, if I install stock 6.0 firmware via ODIN or Smart switch returning me to stock 6.0 and "unroot" then flash then these files I should be on 6.0 and achieviable root again? Thanks for any info!
- Sorry If this is a dumb question, but I haven't been in the rooting scene in awhile since I had a Note 4 that couldn't be rooted on Verizon for about 2 years.

Soft bricked me galaxy tab s 8.4 SM-T700 help please!

Soft bricked me galaxy tab s 8.4 SM-T700 after upgrading to 6.0.1 I searched around and found a guide that claimed you could still root it. so I downloaded odin, twrp, and supersu. and after some time of fiddling with it I finally got twrp up and running and installed supersu and tried to reboot, now i'm just getting infinite boot loop. I've tried a few of the of the common fixes like deleting delvik cache and cache but nothing seems to work. I can still get to recovery mode and download mode but I don't know where to go from here If someone could give me instructions to factory reset somehow or something else? that would be must appreciated I'm stuck and would appreciate any help I can get. If you need any other info just let me know and I'll provide what I can.

Greetings and welcome to xda. The easiest solution is to download the latest firmware for your device and flash it with odin, you will lose root but it will fix your bootloop. You can use this website/app to get the correct firmware

Of course you can root this device on 6.0.1 . It's been done since it was released.
You need to keep up to date. See the twrp thread in the dev section.
