Does the Glacier (mytouch 4g) take Touch Pro 2 / Droid Incredible batteries ? Anyone try one ?
I came from the evo to the mytouch but have had the incredible in the past. The evo and and incredible use the same battery but sad to say my evo battery did not fit in the phone. Battery was too big.

You will not able to use any other battery with the phone
Selling phones at radio shack (att tmo and sprint) I haven't seen a battery that looks like it would even have the contacts in the proper place or right size... so there might be a VZW phone out there that might be able to swap, but none of the current phones on other carriers seem to be cross compatible....

Anyone tried switching a battery from a G2? I just switched from one of those (quite against my will, as I loved the phone but had wi-fi calling issues), and the batteries look almost identical. However, not having them side by side, as I had to send the g2 back, I cant confirm for certain.
The TP2 battery won't fit. I had one for my Slide and both of those batteries are taller than the MT4G battery.
Pull your battery out and google the battery model number. I did and if I remember correctly all of the entries I saw were for the MT4G only, nothing else listed. So maybe it's a new battery?
The first Five Second
The same day i purchased my MT4G (release date) i pulled my tp2 out of my pocket, pulled the battery out, and tried to fit it into the MT4G... and i failed, it doesn't fit as stated in the post above... was worth the try 1500 mAh battery would have been nice

Dude, I got the same exact issue. But before I got this MT4G I bought for a very short time MT3G, and there yes, my extended batty off of my TP2 (Touch Pro2) fit, the door didn't but the battery did. Few days later, MT4G were released, so I was still able to return my MT3G and add a bit more money and get the MT4G, but here, this battery doesn't fit at all, like ESKIMOn00b said, looks like it, but it doesn't fit. Even if you magically make it fit, what are you going to cover it with?
So for now, no battery. Do what I do: Carry a charger with.
It use same battery as HTC Merge

And a door? Do they sell batteries for that model?
A Door would be huge issue, also. MT4G has this laching in metal door.
Hello everyone, yesterday, my two months old HTC Desire Z (NL, no simlock, CWM 3.0.0.5, CM7RC2) ran out of battery. When I put my phone back in the charger later at night, the red LED began flashing, 2 flashes (interval about 1sec.) and than no flashing for 2 or 3 sec. and starting over again. it sometimes boots into recovery, but then turns itself of after a couple of seconds. I left it in the charger a full night with no effects, let it "rest" for about 8 hours and put it back, still no success.. Anybody an idea? thanks in advance ;-)!
Did you try a battery pull? Leave it out for about ten minutes.
I was just going to put it back in after half an hour.. will edit if something happens, don't expect it as nothing happened after all the things I already tried
EDIT: goes flashing again, let me try to turn it on.
nope, nothing : (
This may seem a bit obvious, but did you try charging it through your computer? The AC adapter could just be broken.

That's not it, in the computer it doesn't even do the flashy thing. I think it's the battery, i'm going to buy a new one soon, €30 -.-" but since my warranty's gone it's worth the shot. keep coming with ideas please though! : )
Li ion batteries will stop taking a charge if they are over-discharged. Li ion batteries have a safety circuit that is SUPPOSED to prevent over discharge, but they don't always work. I've seen this happen to several folks over on the Touch Pro 2 forums. Charging overnight on the wall charger will sometimes work (USB is not enough). Otherwise you need a special charger/battery tester with a boost function to bring the battery back from the dead. Short of that, you just need to get a new battery.
Its possible you may have some issue besides over-discharge, such as a bad battery. But just in case, in the future it would be advisable to avoid discharging the battery below 20%, or at least 10%, whenever possible. Some here have claimed that newer phones, or perhaps the Android OS itself is better at preventing over-discharge of the battery. But this is the second post I've seen on the Vision forum with this same problem. So my inclination is still to be as cautious as possible with draining the battery too low.
I had this same issue once before, let my battery run out and then it wouldn't charge or turn on, so like stated above, I had a travel wall charger from chichitech and put the battery in that over night and it brought it back.

Honestly: I'm from the usa, I don't even know what the desire is. I'm assuming its a non us version of the g2.
In the tmobile store there are bigger batteries u can buy, I got the stock battery and never upgraded but I did see them there..
Go into your local store and I'm sure u could test it right there with there batterys.. if u don't wanna wait for ur friend that is..

I've been using the red chichitech 1800mah EVO batteries since October and love them, you just have to peel the red wrapper off and they will fit under the stock door. Plus for the price you get two batteries and a wall travel charger for what one stock battery will cost you, look for Chichitech on Amazon, I got them three days after I placed my order.

There is an Asian Desire Z too. In fact, the Desire Z is so much more widely distributed, I'd dare say the more definitive version is the Desire Z, and the G2 just happens to be T-Mob's variant. But that's just me. They are all Visions in the end, aren't they?

first hit on google was DON'T BUY THE CHICHITECH BATTERIES, and it says they're for the EVO 4G? how could that work on a vision..
I purchased the Thunderbolt about 3 weeks ago when in vegas, along with the HTC 2750 mah Extended Battery and door. That phone had on and off trouble connecting to the internet and all I used was the extended battery. Eventually thanks to the seidio holster my original Thunderbolt fell to the ground and screen cracked. I now have a brand new (I think) Thunderbolt from Asurian and I am home in North Jersey. When using the original stock battery with the device 4g internet works fine. When using the HTC 2750mah extended battery I can only connect to 3g. Choosing just LTE mode connects the device to 1x, and choosing full auto mode connects the device to 3g. My extended battery cover has the 2 spots where the antennas are. So I do not know what is causing this problem. When asurian sent me the replacement phone it included all new parts, including new sim card, if that matters. I have not rooted or done anything yet to the phone. Complete stock experience.
it may be that the antenna contacts on the extended battery cover may not be making contact with the antenna points causing you the 4g problems. I'd double check that.
Sounds like a bad battery cover.
Update: I have 3 different extended battery door covers all with the antenna contacts. None of them work with 4G. Standard battery and cover work fine still. Is there something on the contact points I need to remove?
I would just head into a vzw store and have them mess with it
lost 4g

I think the problem is more serious then that. I just received my htc extended, and have the same problem. Before had 4G with standard battery, but now 1x with the extended.
Unless I find a solution I will return the battery in a couple days.
At one point when they first came out with extended battery there was a batch of them that had antenna problems. But I remember they recalled them
Wonder if the same trouble is back in the store they can put the bad covers on a different thunderbolt and see if it has 4G problems if it does you need a new cover.
Thanks,
Bryan
Def a bad cover. The cover has antennas on it so if they aren't making contact properly you will not get proper signal.
Are generic batteries ok to use? can they harm my device in any kind of way?

Some can yes. Of poorly made it can destroy your phone. I only have Samsung OEM batteries for that reason alone

It's true, a friend of mine that I work with recently asked me if I can fix her droid incredible, every time it turned on it would freeze on bootanimation.zip and wouldn't advance. I knew the phone was booting fine with no issue whatsoever 10 minutes prior to it happening, and she told me a few weeks back that she had an extended batter so I made sure I could enter the bootloader on it, and I did with no issue, so I told her switch batteries, and it booted with no issue at all. I personally use the stock Samsung battery, and a trexcell extended batter that I have had no issues with and extreme battery life. Long story short is, stick to high quality batteries.
I had to buy the extended battery for my GNex replacement since it was my 2nd upgrade phone due to issues and I'm wondering does the extended battery have an NFC chip in it or what? I'm going to be really pissed if it doesn't have it and need to buy one that does have an NFC chip in it. I bought it from Verizon in store.
It has NFC

Yes it has it....pretty sure the box mine came in said extended battery w/ NFC chip. Could have been wrong...but pretty sure the box says it right on front.

Box never mentioned NFC on it and the back was a PITA to get on so I don't want to take it off to check the battery to see if it said it. I swear, that back cover came with a few bent pins right out of the box and made for a really hard time getting it installed perfectly.
As mentioned, it does have it. If the extended battery cover is a pain, put the stock one back on. That's what im using with the extended battery.
They just sent me the phone itself, no battery or cover. Had to buy the extended battery and cover.
I think the nfc is in the phone, the battery has to have the antenna
