dont change the WM size.... it will drain your battery much quicker and heat up your device.
Stick to 1080p and 320 dpi. you will get more icons and better room for everything.
if you want to stick with 2160p you should change the dpi to 480p
Right now im on 400dpi without wm resize. There will be a huge margin on the launcher but i chose to install nova for replacement. At least it can contain apps as much as an z Ultra. Have thought to move to 320 but it seems it's too small for my liking.

I have set lcd density to 200 running cm rc2 and the icons look fuzzy (time looks fine though). Whats the problem?
Also, what other roms give me the option to change density?

Change the settings and try different numbers, you can use any rom and have lcd density, download it from the market.
I guess that wasnt clear - what roms are themed well enough to work with lower density?
Can someone attach lcd density here please.

open /system/build.prop in a text editor using root explorer and change the value there
ok thanks mate.

Its actually ADW not CM that's the issue I am running the iron man ADW theme and its fine with 200 density
Ey!!
Maybe a silly question, but does somebody know how to change dpi on DHD?
I mean, my screen can handle 5 ''icons horizontally'' ,
how can I change the dpi to get for example 10 ''icons horizontally''.
Thanks in advance.
There's a thread here abouts for changing the DPI (although might only be if you have Cyanogen ROM) but the search I'm sure you'll do will bring it up.
Home Replacement apps like LauncherPro or ADWLauncher allow you to set number of icons but can be a bit hit or miss.
Thanks for your reply,
i got launcher pro, i made it 5icons horizontally en 4icons vertically.
if you make it more, the icons gets ugly, they dont fit normal, and some problems...
what it does, it makes the icons smaller but doesnt change the screens dpi i think.
i got stock rom.
The ugly icon issue is why I didn't bother changing it.
With a stock ROM, unless it's rooted I doubt you'll be able to change the DPI. I do recall someone mention an App but I memory serving it was for the Galaxy and tests failed on the DHD.

you can either edit the build.prop in /system or buy lcd density changer from the market ......

Both methods require root access (A rooted ROM).
true story, which makes mines NOT ROOTED xD
so i have to root it first..? no other solutions?
No you can't change your dpi without root.

after scouring youtube and finding nothing Im going to rely on XDA , anyone care to show off with video of their customisation, the S2 has no notification light, not a great launcher and a pretty janky looking lockscreen - otherwise seems a beast of a phone, would anyone care to show off? I would love to know if the very few shortcomings of the device software (and the led deficiency) can be fixed easily with third party software
pretty please?

sounds good but coming from a htc hero I love being able to glance at notification light when I enter my office again and know without waking the phone if i got anything new...
of course, you could show off the combo via some juicy 24fps streaming goodness ... ?
It's not a video but here are my screenshots

wow , that looks slick! I don't know the default lcd density for S2 but I assume that 202 was to fit more on screen? smaller fonts etc?
nice one!

Default density is 240, 202 is indeed smaller fonts and icons so you can fit more!
202 Seems a bit strange, It might look better at 200. By my calcualations the effective pixel numbers around there work out

brill! love the massively wide toggle widget and of course the lovely speed, sadly its now going to be goodbye htc hero once my network has the S2
I appreciate that mate, nice to see a decent lockscreen and some non touchwiz in action

These density changes afect the apps also? Or only the launcher?

I've tried the LCD Resolution app on my ICS 4.0.4 Arc S and the layout of the menus etc were pretty messed up. do any of those apps work well on the Arc S? and if so which one and whats a good dpi setting to use to improve the visual experience?
Sometimes you'll have to experiment with numbers 1-9 on the dpi scale. Example I'm at 240dpi, in order for my stuff to look correct I need to set the rest of my dpi on a 3. So example, my usual dpi will be 163dpi. If I do anything other than 3 besides 240 mg screen and information will be messed up.
Edit : Certain launchers will also make a difference as they may be specified to work at the original dpi or be flexible to a new dpi.
Edit2 : Sometimes certain roms don't like dpi, a few sense and ics roms here on the Droid Incredible have issues with the dpi, if I got below 200, sense and ics roms cause certain things to stretch or stay the same dpi even though its a new dpi. Example, sense lock screen gets smaller and does not fit the screen so its off. I try to avoid using dpi on sense because of this and many other reasons, AOSP is a great place to use dpi.

Because using dpi messes the market up I use LCD Density Modded Pro. It allows you to get items from the market your android can't normally find.

Hi, I have been reading about this in this forum. How does it work.? I mean our gnex is 320 dpi. Does it mean that when we drop the value of our dpi will result in bigger text/image resolution. Is it the same as computer monitor resolution, that is when resolution is lowered it will result in bigger, less sharper, lower quality images and text. What are the uses of lowering dpi? Thanks in advance.

yep its true, if you reduce the dpi it would resutl in a bigger text and icons
it help ppl who dont like small text,
rom PA 2.99+ has this feature, to change every app dpi , its cool you chould try it
