rooted? unlocked? rom or stock verizon?
also how are you verifying you have t-mobile "signal"? call or text yourself.
Our rooted DI2 was unlocked via VZW before going on our Bermuda cruise last month, worked great for voice & incoming SMS roaming on prepaid carriers - black one running SkyRaider and red w. Condemned's Sabotage Sense, also switched to my China Mobile 3G Rom and had a very good signal - using the island's DigiCel partner's signal tower ... same on the ship as we switched off our CDMA services. I didn't change the APN settings for SMS/MMS and had issues not being able to send outgoing msg, something I didn't planned on doing ...The installed ROM was able to pickup and lock on a GSM signal fairly quickly and showed service on our devices.
Back in the States, if I switch to over to GSM only, we will pickup a very good signal for T-Mobile, AT&T; or, China Mobile 's Sim via AT&T or T-Mobile, good enough for voice calls & SMS. It depends, in part, on your GSM carrier's tower and partner carrier lists.

P8000 and North American Bands

Anyone know if there's any chance of getting (activating) other bands on this phone?
I'm in Canada using Videotron. If I set the phone to 4G, I am able to send and receive text messages, make phone calls but mysteriously cannot make calls.
If I set the phone to 3G, nothing works. If I set it to 2G, I can send and receive messages, make calls and receive calls but my data is slower than my 1982 1200 baud modem!!
Anyone have any insight on this?

G8 Thinq! AT&T Global: 2g (calls and messages) or 4g (Internet)

Hi,
I've bought the unlocked (Global) AT&T G8 Thinq! from Aliexpress and shipped it to Poland (EU). It seems that I can chose one of two - calls or Internet.
If I select the "2G" networks on, I can make calls and text messages, but the Internet is so slow, that it is unusable.
If I turn off the "2G" networks, Internet works fine, there is even a LTE icon, but I am unable to call and receive calls ('Mobile network unavailable' popup, when I try to call)...
There is no menu to choose network mode like 'LTE/3G/2G'...
Firmware is most up-to-date - G820UM20r.
Do you have any idea, how could I fix that?
BR,
Dominik

No phones calls in France

Hello, I bought an S7A on eBay. I unlocked it with the GSM unlock code provided. Everything works fine, except ... I can't make or receive calls. When I make a call, no ringing tone, and it hangs up 20 seconds later. When someone calls me, the same, then they come across my answering machine.
I'm on the latest version of Oero available, no root or whatever. From what I saw (on GSMArena), the phone uses compatible frequencies in France.
I am at carrier Bouygues Teelcom.
You have any ideas ? Thank you !
PS: I translate from French, please be indulgent!
Same problem, this phone does not work in China
Since then I have understood the real problem: the phone cannot switch from the 4G network to the 2G network for calls on its own.
I don't know how I did it, but now I can make calls without any problem, but switching to 2G is very long (15 s).
I specify that it is impossible to use VoLTE to circumvent this problem.
For receiving calls, the phone does not switch to 2G and the incoming call still fails.
But I can force the 2G network (With the Samsung Band Selection app). And there, incoming calls work, but we only have 2G to surf.
When connected to WIFI, the phone automatically forces the mobile network to 2G, so incoming calls work without the application mentioned before.
