Htc One M8s - heavy lagging - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I just bought m8s from Orange. (no brand, no simlock, seems to be full stock)
I don't know where to start a topic because it's m8 forum..
My problem is:
I've got Android 5.0.2 Sense 6 - 1.16.401.10 version
My phone is lagging as hell.. I did wipe twice, animations are stuttering, phone runs like galaxy s1 on 2.3.3 beta.
Im serious, I can't even use fb messenger because typing letters is lagging, google chrome is lagging..
phone is not usable, even lockscreen have got lags.
SOME animations are okay but im honest I've never seen so laggy phone before..
I did benchmark on Antutu and it scores around 33k points.
I checked CPU and 8 cores are "working"
I did wipe in system and from recovery - nothing helped
I checked battery saving feature - disabled
I compared my phone to my friend's desire 820 and his is just smooth and fast, ten times smoother than mine.
Can someone help me with that? Im sure m8s is not that bad.

Have you tried the latest release of the ROM
I have that problem on an older version of the ROM, but you do not need to hard reset - it takes a few boot attempts, but removing the battery and rebooting and pressing reset and rebooting after a while it does load back into the ROM
Let me know if this problem is in the latest release or an older one as I intend on upgrading to the newest to see if the problem is gone

Yea well I only got the freeze inside of windows a couple times, but I get the welcome screen hang every reboot
Might flash to the new ROM using MTTY and see what happens
BTW - there is a MTTY that does not require all the stupid code this and code that and USB drivers bla bla--- it just runs right from windows and takes one flash using the romupdate utility to complete
just make sure the new rom is sitting on the storage card ready for the new flash as the phone will just stop at the splash boot screen as it now has no OS on it

MEMO
I've been using the Memo Memory and Graphic Tweaked Rom for a few months now. Now using Memo 2.6.2, which works great. There's also been great feedback on bugs through the forum, which have all been removed.
Memo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649841
And the fast-MTTY (which is called Task 29, the formatting task) also works fine for me, you can find all info in this thread:

Hi before you plan to cook xda ROM . I will recommend you to try out Hong Kong Official ROM, I tried out a lot and compare different Official ROM here is the result :
The PROS that found in the ROM :
1st - Guaranty fast and stable official ROM compare to sea, O2 and also UK ROM
2nd - Receive GPS signal quickly compare to the other ROM
3rd - If u tried SEA ROM u may found out the weather unable to update frequently
4th - Google Maps Integrated inside the ROM .. which SEA ROM dont have
5th - If you using Chinese words then it is too bad for SEA and other country ROM no integrated so you need to install CE-Star inside .
This is why I recommend u Hong Kong Chinese ROM as it comes with Chinese program . You dunned to install!!
The CONS that found in Hong Kong ROM that is :
1) No WINRAR
2) It would be hard for those people who cant read in Chinese. Although I not really like Chinese ROM but after I tried it . I really satisfy with the ROM .
Give It a Try Download Different Official ROM from Touch Diamond From Various Country Website you will notify which 1 suit you the best.
You may consider the above options that I given and try it =) you may saw a huge differences.
Lastly , I wont recommend some of the ROM that posted in xda
1st - Drain battery tremendously , dry your battery life even faster than official ROM
2nd - Very lag + not as good as what your expectation, cannot reach what you wants sometimes or even worse design
3rd - 3G Video Call not Function In Certain ROM as they want to the ROM even LITE smooth and faster
HONG KONG LATEST OFFICIAL ROM - RUU_Diamond_HKCSL_CHT_2.03.832.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.44.25.24_1.08.25.20M1_Ship

2.3.5 rom slow graphics

I see people report that new rom is fast in graphics and slow in cpu response but for some reason i'am getting oppposing results
I am using this rom now... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361368
Reading through 3-4 messages is slugish and its not smooth and angry birds thend to lag. When i was using older jakintaru rom(salsa port) my phone was flying and games where smooth.Anyone have any idea what can i do to make it better?(any tweaks, tried clearing caches)Tnank you in advance
When I referred to faster graphics and slower CPU scores I was referring to the stock RUU of that release.
Rather than Jikantaru's release I installed the stock and let it upgrade my radio, hboot etc.
I have no Supercharger V6 or kernal scripts on it.
I used Link2SD rather than App to SD and any widget app or app that needs good priority on boot, like Set CPU, Battery Monitor Pro, Superuser, etc, I leave on Internal and don't make links to the second EXT2 partition.
Boots nice and fast then and becomes responsive sooner.
I also use Rom Toolbox Pro and define the various startup apps, freeze out system apps that I don't need and leave widgets unloaded that I don't need.
I also make use of the default memory tweak from RTP and the SD card read speed tweak.
I use Green Power for battery and wifi management as well. Works well.
All in all it has allowed me to install 400 MB of apps and I still have 50 MB of internal memory free, plenty of system memory free at all times for things like in memory processing of camera filters, etc, and a responsive, fast booting system.
Tnx m8 for sharring what do you use
Where did you get stock img for flashing?

It seems like you are just too laze or you want everybody in the forum to show you everything without searching...

I prefer Jik's Salsa ROM, it looks and feels exactly the same as the 2.3.5 update in my opinion, response feels the same etc.

OK, sorry about my manner but there are lots of people just thinking that the other members are supposed to sort the info for them and I was a little bit nervous after I read some other threads.
We all have to help each other not only with knowledge but with time spending too, I hope the people will become more principle and will request things just after they tried (no matter if they are sure) to find the info themselves.
Regards
I'm using the stock RUU 2.3.5 release and it's much faster, graphics and all.

Agreed. It's what I've been running on and I've tried every rom on here over the last month.
Off to play with the Salsa Euro 101 with the OC kernel mod and remove Data2SD in exchange for Link2SD.
I would love the Stock RUU 2.3.5 with an overclockable kernel. Nothing else fancy except the ability to have min 19mhz max 806 mhz.
Yeah,i will now install stock and wait for the overclocked kernel and i hope we can then stop flashing our phones every few daysFor now i think we can use that stock 2.3.5 with supercharger scripts couse they do verry nice(lag fix) in my pnone
After installing official rom and some testing i can also confirm that this rom is fastest i have ever triedIt works verry nice, smoth and graphics is great, cheers

S4 Mini Freezes

Three times I have experience with "random" freezes.
Twice on lockscreen and one in stand by. In both situation was phone hot like a hell. Someone another have "enjoyed" this?
I own this device only for two weeks, so this situations are realy sad!
Which firmware do you use? I had similar overheating issues with XXUAMG5-DBT ROM with additional battery drain issues, so I reverted back to XXUAMF5-BTU, the factory firmware.
I use factory firmware shipped with my S4 mini, no customization (I9195XXUAMF7).

Did you try any other firmware? If not, have a go with MF5. However, I didn't have such issues with MF7, apart from battery drain ones.
Currently I didn't try any other firmware. There is no other firmware version for my Region and I don't have experience with flashing Samsung and what are differencies with in regions.
When did you experience this? If the device is hot like hell, then you were probably using it while playing games for extended periods?
I never experienced this though on my MF5 firmware.
I have the same problem on my stock s4 mini. I have TIM brand version: 9195XXUAMH1.

I have also the same problem. I own this device for 7 days and it freezed for 3 times. Crashes when i am not using it.
i have also experienced another strange problem: When I open or close Wifi, it lags!!! For a few minutes (3-4), you can see the screen, and when you trying to give a command it's sooooooo slow.......
Baseband Version: I9195XXUBMJ7
Wtf, I did had another serie of random restarts and crashes.
But now today my phone was felt ****ing hot also toghether with a crash, I set it off for a while restart again using.
Then 5 hours later I'm calling with a friend, phone falls completely out and now it doesn't react anymore,
when I connect my adapter to the current it doesn't react anymore :s
Any idea or people who has had that?
(edit) First I tried 3 times with removing battery and back in (without result)
then I did get out the battery now for 5 minutes , I did it again in the phone ,
then I connected the adapter with the current and it was loading again :'o
Would it be safe to use it for some days ? Or should I better retour this to samsung in the first place?
Or contact them first?
Greetings
Since last firmware update , all this probs are fixed here.
(I did also a master reset 3 weeks before that update)

[Q] Do I need a ROM and a Kernel?

Sorry to ask such a noob question but I am quite confused...
My Daughter has a MT1-U06 which I am not sure is either the Huawei Mate or Huawei Mate P6? (there seems to be sections for both that contain MT1-U06)
The phone is a UK model on Vodafone UK, I updated the ROM due to being so old and a couple of problems that have existed since owning the phone but although the ROM's I have tried loaded she was constantly getting "process has stopped" errors on almost everything she tried doing... I tried various different roms which has resulted in the phone working but it locks up quite often now, the long and short of it is I am now not sure what ROM/Kernel I have loaded on the phone and am just looking for a combination of the two (if I even need a Kernel?) that I can load and will give her an operational phone.
I thank you in advance for any advice that can be given.... thank you...
MT-U06 is huawei mate, and P6 stands for other version of phone although they use almost same hardware. As for rom you can check its version in settings-about device-build version.

What is the best working custom ROM for Desire HD

Hi everyone!
Right now I want to reanimate my old HTC Desire HD and I search for a custom ROM that will work well with it.
I tried CM13 and CM12.1 in aceopt version and it don't works. I get a message "Encrpytion unsuccesful" like here shown: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ht...om-cyanogenmod-12-1-nightlies-t3070621/page86
So right now I search for a another working version, so the device will come back to life.
Greatings ...
Hi,
Try CM11, it was working very well when I have been using my DHD.
SVHD is also a very good ROM, so stable and bug free, but unfortunately it is only Android 4.0.4.
Maybe you didn't prepare your phone to flash aceopt version of this CM (read the instructions in cm's thread)? Maybe try a normal version, if it exists?

I'm afraid the phone would be very slow with encryption enabled.

Yes I think I will give CM11 a chance. And I think that a lot of apps that don't run under 4.0.4 could run with 4.4. SVHD is very good, but more and more geocaching apps I use don't work with it. On 4.4 they should.
It is my replacement smartphone, when my main, a Samsung S5 Neo don't work or so.

This is great. Security patch is from 01.08.2018 and it is already LineageOS. Seems to work great. The only problem I have with it is, that Google Play Service stopped. Maybe I solve this.
First look is great.
Maybe installing this ROM without Google play services and using microG or yalpstore instead of them would be a better idea?
