Hey I found a 1080p hp usb computer camera and decided to plug it in and see if it would work on my double din. My stereo is an unbranded rk3188 7in running malaysk most current Rom. I downloaded a free open camera app off the play store but when the picture it's displaying comes up it's showing sideways so I have to turn the camera to fix the orientation. Is this something I can't get around or is there some setting I can change to fix that?
Ok got it figured out and mounted in my headliner perfectly. The camera is an HP-HD4110 I had lying around taking up space. Its shaped like a barrel so it's not overly big. I am using Auto Boy Dash Can Black Box off the app store and it has fixed rotation so the camera can be mounted upside down if needed. Usb plugged in and every camera app I've tried on the app store works like a charm. Win win

I ordered a new rear facing camera for my phone and installed the new one, but now when I go to the Camera app says the gallery has stopped, or comes up and says the camera is not detected then closes the app. The front facing camera works fine and the old camera module I had in it works still too. Do I need to wipe and reinstall my ROM, or is it just a bad module? I noticed that it has 120511 on the board and my original shows 120411 so maybe it's just not compatible? The reason I was replacing it is because the old camera has marks/spots that show up when you try and take pictures. I tried to clean it with a cotton swab and condensed air which I think helped a little but can't get it fully clear. :crying:
Could be a driver issue i suppose if it is in fact a different hardware version.
Hello
I have rooted and installed CM10.1, Android 4.2.2 and have been running without issue. However, I picked up a HDMI cable and when plugged in I do have a mirrored screen, but it will display as a landscape at a 90* angle. I am unable to figure out how to rotate the image clockwise 90* so it will be correct. Is anyone else having this problem? I have looked through the settings and still coming up short.
Please help.
Thanks
When shooting using rear facing camera with the camera button on the right side, the video gets recorded upside down. (it displays/orients correctly on screen while recording)
When the video is played back on the phone, it orients correctly.
However, when you copy it to a computer OR play it via DLNA client (eg: TV), it appears upside-down/inverted.
The photo appear to be oriented just fine on both the phone and when viewed on a computer.
Also, while using barcode scanner app, the camera image appears inverted.
Bank of America - Check Deposit feature shows image correctly oriently.
Is this a software BUG that would be fixed? Or is my hardware faulty ?
It looks as if the sensors are stuck or broken........at times! -- I am hoping thats not the case.
Im having the same problem with barcode scanners. I need this for work it making my life very complicated right now
The chase bank mobile app for check deposit shows upside down image.
This is so frustrating....
Any inputs on how to fix this?

It's something each app dev will have to fix in their respective app, as Google has indicated it's not a problem with their APIs, but how the devs aren't checking for proper sensor orientation. LG in their infinite wisdom (or likely due to limited space in the case), decided to mount the sensor in a reverse-landscape orientation, which is contrary to every other device on the market.
Thanks for that input.
Looks like a total cluster fk. Hope the native camera app is fixed by Google soon. Right now the videos recorded are rotated 180° (upside down)

I have an LG G710EM. So I had a battery replacement recently and everything was working fine. I updated to android Q via LGUP and now my cameras are working funny. If I open the camera app on android 10 the app crashes immediately. I tried safe mode and only the main rear camera was working. The wide angle just freezes.
I downgraded to android 9 and here the apps open and main camera works but when I tap the wide angle lens it freezes. If I tap the selfie camera the wide angle lens open and it works there but everything is flipped upside down WTF! its funny and frustrating. I've tried clearing data and cache I tried reflashing android nothing works. A little help would be appreciated.
Hey people!
I've just flashed the Stock Rom on my Xiaomi Mi6, so I'm currently using MIUI 11 (Android 9). This phone is non-rooted.
I'm having trouble with C6 Bank app (Brazillian bank app), in the face recognition step of login. Instead of utilizing the front camera as expected, it uses the rear camera, and the image is upside down!
I can't turn the phone upside down, because of the gyro, so the image is always upside down. Turning the phone sideways is not an option as well, because the bank app uses the gyro and it recognizes when the phone is sideways and tells me to "keep the phone straight up".
I've tried everything I could think of: Disabling the cameras with an app called Lens Cap (but it can only disable all cameras), plugging an external camera via USB OTG cable (I think it doesn't work because of power issues)... I've tried filming another screen that has my face on through a webcam, but that didn't work out either, because my camera stinks... As far as I've researched, there's no way to disable the gyro, so that's not an option as well. I'm not going as far as opening my phone and physically disable the camera, because I could mess everything up.
Do you have any other idea?
Thank you for your attention!
What's the banking app you have issue with?
Do you have both apps running simultaneously? I ask this because it isn't possible to use the same camera by several apps simultaneously.
"C6 Bank" a Brazillian bank app.
Nope, I don't have any other app open at the moment.
Thank you for your reply.
