E6853, I had unlocked bootloader and custom rom. I tried to relock the bootloader and flash stock rom using flashtool. It appeared to work, but now I have no bootloader screen. When i plug in USB with volume down, I get brief red led, then green led, blank screen. Fastboot doesn't show any devices. ADB is working with the phone on. PC Companion "repaired" my software, so the phone works (with the exception of video on the back camera freezing).
Has anyone seen this, or have any idea how I might get my bootloader menu back?

After using the reset options from within Android the phone would not boot, so I tried flashing a stock ROM using what I thought was the appropriate non branded RUU but it stopped part way with a message about it being the wrong ROM.
Since then if I switch on it vibrates but that's all. If I connect to the USB it is recognised as My HTC in device manager. If I connect charger the light comes on and it charges until the orange light goes green.
I have tried pressing the back arrow button while powering on but it doesn't show up any differently in Device Manager - Still My HTC I also tried Vol-Down and Power but nothing, screen remains black.
It WAS S-Off via the AlphaRev CM7 Hboot. I didn't change this before using the RUU.
I am not feeling confident about this and would be very happy if someone has any useful pointers I could try?
I do seem to be able to connect with fastboot via Android Flasher, but it seems to fail verifying signatures... ( I tried flashing the recovery image)
Hoping...

Its just an SLCD brick. Perfectly fixable. Just search"SLCD brick fix" and follow the guide.
So what can your phone do right now???
And what is your bootloader info?
If amber light comes on you can probably get your phone working
Sorted
I actually made a Gold Card and then ran the Stock RUU via USB and it went through fine and it's now back working perfectly. I guess this was a similar fix to the SLCD method as suggested. Thanks very much.
Hello people,
I hope you can help me?
after I unlocked my ion in the root mode and the bootloader
I (which ran without any problems), I have (I think)
inadvertently (or better through their own stupidity)
instead of the boot.img here
use these
and on my written ion
comes shortly after the restart, the "sony" logo and then it restarts the whole is repeated several times are only a black screen is shown. the backlight is on. after about 5 minutes, the device switches itself off then.
when I connect it to the power supply, the LED turns red, just on the pc.
I'm not in the flash mode (green LED) still in fastboot (led blue)
I get it myself down again?, or should I send it?
ever thank you for your help!
PS: at the moment where the Sony logo appears on the screen I get a short USB Connect!

I'm afraid that you must somehow flash stock fw and stock kernel. For this use Emma or Flashtool. To install all necessary drivers you must install SUS.
Sent from my LT26i using xda developers-app
UPDATE: I was able to get into fastboot and flashmode. I am trying to flash back ftf file but it is stuck at 0%
When I hold the power button the phone will vibrate every 3 seconds (almost like a pulse).
I had a locked (and non-unlockable bootloader) so I was using this CWM for locked bootloaders. I made a back up and preceded with flashing rom. No my phone will not turn on, not even the backlight (I do however get the red notification light when it is charging).

its more helpful if you show us your flashtool log,
and make sure to exclude the simlock.ta file in files selection when choosing ftf package
Was able to fix it using Sony Update Service. Didn't work the 1st time but when I tried it a second time it did. Apparently the battery wasn't charging.

i think your phone brick ,try to flash again with flash tool. if fail . you must go to sony center to recover
So I got my brand new Z1C today and as you would do I rooted, backed up my TA and unlocked the bootloader. I also flashed on fastboot DooMLoRD kernel to get cwm.
I saw a new stock update for for 4.4.4 so I decided to try update via Sony PC Companion. Update downloaded but I was prompted that I could continue due to 'modified software'. So I decided to restore my TA to bring it back to stock and phone doesn' turn on
When I press the power button it vibrates but there is no display. If I wait a few seconds and press the power button it does the same. I can also still boot into fastboot mode. I attempted to flash a .ftf but I can't seem to get it into flashmode :crying:
Would anyone be able to help please?
Ha, that happened to me as well when I tried to restore the dreaded TA. But if fastboot is working, flashmode should too. Turn off the phone, press volume down and plugin usb. Iirc there's no LED confirmation in flashmode, but you'll see it in flashtool.

Flashmode managed to work! Phone seems operational now.
Deary me that was a bit worrying. Is it quite normal for you to have to flash a .ftf after restoring the TA or something? Nearly crapped myself...

There is an LED confirmation for flashmode, a shortly powered green LED. Fastboot is indicated by a solid blue LED.

You've done correctly, but you've missed one step, before flashing your locked TA and rebooting you have to flash a stock kernel, otherwise the "modified software" test in the locked bootloader will be triggered (by the unsigned kernel).
You have not bricked your phone, this thread is incorrectly titled as I'm sure you knew when you posted it.
Ok,
Was installing the viper rom on my M8, and for some reason, now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. Obviously the install went pear shaped. But now I cant even boot the phone into recovery mode.
Boot sequence now is: Google lettering appears on screen, followed by green android with the blue spinning shape in its chest, then the green android with the red triangle and black exclamation mark appears and the whole thing loops again.
When plugged into the PC its not recognized so I cant use adb to boot into recovery or try load another rom/wipe cache etc.
I've tried all combinations of power button & volume up/down to break the boot sequence, no joy.
Any ideas how to resolve, or do I have a very expensive paper-weight?
Cheers,
sombaht
Rest assured, if the screen comes on, the phone isn't bricked.
Red triangle with exclamation point is stock recovery.
What was your exact sequence, in detail? From bootloader unlock, install custom recovery, etc.
Was the phone on Lollipop when you unlocked the bootloader?
To reboot into bootloader (not recovery, there is no button sequence to boot directly into recovery on this device):
1) Hold power and vol up for several seconds to force a reboot
2) The moment the screen goes black to reboot, let go of the buttons, and only hold vol down
3) Don't let go of vol down until you are on the bootloader screen
4) Failure to get into bootloader is virtually always user error. You either started pressing vol down too late, or let go of it too early. Just repeat until you get it right.
But from there, as mentioned it sounds like you are on stock recovery. You will probably need to flash TWRP again via fastboot in order to do much more.
Did you flash a custom recovery before you flashed the rom?? Can you boot in the bootloader mode (turn of Device completely- turn on again and hold volume down all the time.. then you should be in the bootloader)?
And your phone is not really bricked
Edit: damn to slow should not write on the phone

My friend, did you flash it using stock recovery or custom recovery? if you did flash it using stock recovery you will meet this kind of problems. I suggest you try power button and down if im not mistaken and go to hboot and fastboot usb and connect to adb, type fastboot devices in cmd if it detects your device then you can flash TWRP , find any kind of custom rom for M8 and flash it. I also assume your bootloader is unlocked and driver is installed in your PC.
Problem solved. Redpoint73's key press combination worked!
Cheers,
sombaht
