Not sure if I'm posting correctly as I am pretty new to XDA. But does anybody know of any other kernels I can use for R.R. Remix (marshmallow). Problem with current kernel is games lag badly. If anybody can point me in the rite direction that would be much appreciated.

I have searched for this answer and so far have come up short so if it has been previously posted I apologize and just a nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I am running Hardware version 003 and have found that with any of the roms I have tried if they include a custom kernel or even when flashed separately everything works except my camera. Just wondered if anyone else had come across this and if there were any work arounds short of sticking with the stock kernel for now. I am mainly just looking for the additional speed and performance that others are getting with the custom kernels so if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently running a sense based rom.
thanks for reading and for any input!!
Dear all,
sorry, for the maybe very n00bie-questions, nevertheless, I am hoping for some explanations, which try to help me, what is going on exactly
1) Buidling roms from source:
I'd like to take the JB example, where a lot of "ICS patches need to be merged into the JB source".
What kind of patches are meant?
Why is it that complicate, to compile the source and then somehow, it is not yet working for the device (even, after integrating the kernel)? Can maybe someone explain a little bit more, what exactly is causing the trouble?
What would help to make things easier?
2) Shaky was/ is working on a 3.x Desire kernel.
What is the major difference between a 2.3x and a 3.x kernel?
Why is a 3.x kernel needed/ suggested?
Why is it that complicate to build a 3.x kernel for the desire?
What would help to make things easier?
You see, I am missing a little bit on the basics, but would like to understand more in detail, what is really going on, when the devs are sending information around.
Would be highly appreciated, if someone/ or more than one would try to bring my knowledge to a higher level.
Thanks in advance for all your support!

Hey, I know there are already a fair number of threads out there on this, but they all seem to be for "n00bs" or beginners, which I am not. I would like to write a custom ROM, including comiling the kernel and all that other jazz. I get the basics of *modifying* a ROM, but what if I want to significantly change something? And I have yet to find a tutorial on how you can compile the Android kernel for the Captivate Glide. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
I'm thinking about trying to just compiling vanilla ICS (pun intended ) so that I can get the hang of the process. Then I can do my own stuff and not be constantly worrying about bricking my phone.
Hello i have a samsung galaxy s3 running android 5 lollipop the liquid smooth build.
was wondering if anybody could help me out with a overclocking kernel , or point me in the right direction .
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not to sure about the the s3 kernels but OC has to be set manually in the kernel its self though some lines of code.........long story short unless you know how to code and build kernels, nope you cant
thank you for reply
was just curious do you prefer the stock rom over custom rom images for the s3.
liquid smooth rom has some issues. ( i just really wanted lollipop )
was wondering if i should just have left the stock rom.
again thanks for your time.

"all I can really do, is stay out of my own way and let the will of heaven be done"
thanks guys for your quick responses.
in case anyone else is interested i found one that works great.
it's called
neocore-kernel-2014-12-06-#63.zip
Hi guys,
I've been in and out of using custom ROMs/kernels for a while now, and finally found a rom I like nearly as much as OOS, so think I'm gonna stick with it a while. It runs well, but battery drains much faster than Oxygen so I want to try a custom kernel, but I know from the last time I tried an aosp based rom it's gonna break the WiFi, though as I understand it there is a fix/workaround?
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or do any of the kernels provide this fix OOTB? I want to know the fix before flashing just to save hassle, I'm using Resurrection Remix Pie v7.0.2, haven't picked which kernel I want yet (open to suggestions) ?
Bluspark if you want to stay close to stock. It's HMP. If you'd like to try out EAS go for Weeb kernel. Both provide the same battery life as stock for my usage and both are great and have great support IMO.

Just check the kernel threads whats. I doubt there is any kernel which would break wifi...
There are a couple of implementations of WiFi module actually. Some kernels have multiple versions like Weeb, and you need to select the right one for your ROM to make WiFi work.
