I cannot do anything.
Everytime I hold vol up while putting in usb it takes me to charge only mode thingy. I just cannot do anything. I don't have a recovery. It does nothing but put me on a boot loop when I hold vol up+power.
I installed this http://andriodroom.blogspot.co.nz/2015/02/lg-g-pro-f240lsk-e988-e980-twrp.html IDk whats happening!
I wish I had your problem rather qhs_usbdload_9008 mode .
But i think i know how to help. the same thing happened on my lg optimus f7. This happened over the course of 3 months. My phone was soft-bricked since I had formatted the system partition. Recovery still worked but it was not able to restore my phone since it was on able to copy over file to the phone"s storage since the adb was only able to push file the where no large than 10mb. So I tried to fix this ,being an idiot, i pushed a recovery not meant for my phone, a twrp recovery and since there was only 2 cwm recoveries out there(that seemed to work but had some bugs ( I did not realize that the original worked fine but I cloud not tell the difference between the two recoveries ) ), and I installed it. It would even boot into recovery mode after that. All it did was just turn and the led just flashed rainbow colours for 2 sec and turn off leaving the lg logo on the screen. although I still had the ability to boot into recovery it would just doing nothing adb and fastboot no longer worked. It wasn’t until three months later on Jan 3 2016 that I hardbricked my LG optimus G Pro E980. I soon ran into a thread on XDA developers for the fixing the lg g pro e980 from hard brick by ricarnes. But everyone on his thread complained that it did not work; it only work on my lg optimus f7 not my lg optimus g pro. too me that is odd. But we have to consider that the two devices are quite similar, one just look like an mini verison of the other and they both were released at the same time.
lg f7 - midrange device, feb 2013
lg g pro - flashship device, feb 2013
Here is the link to the thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/help/fix-hard-bricked-e980-t2829684
After performing the fix I could not boot into recovery but I was able to enter download mode using the following key combination :
Volume Up key
Volume Down Key (may be optional)
Power button
Home Button key
Then plug the usb into pc with battery in to enter into download mode. (it is easier to already have the phone plugged in with the micro usb that it is to have to plug in phone with usb already plugged to the computer)
To fix it involves the following materials:
a mirco sd card
a mirco sd reader
linux distro
Windows 7 or Xp ( I tried on windows 10 but I would not recommend that since it did not work for the g pro only the f7.)
factory/official micro usb cord.
Hope this helps and if it does not it means that the thread is probably for soft bricked devices not hard bricked ones. ( I would consider yours to be semi-hard bricked if there is no bootlooping)
I am currently working on a way to fix my problem by booting from the sd card.
getting the computer to recognize it as SDBOOT (05c6:9025) mode instead QDLOAD (05c6:9008) mode. All help to this project/my problem appreciated!

dont worry there a some 32gb micro sd cards on ebay a low as .45$ those ones were the same one i had. you might have to use a 16 gb one. and you might want to check if you mounted the sd card first. try to use a laptop/pc with a built-in sd card adapter. I had the same problem too but i forgot exactly how i got around it.

I'd do that if I lived in the US. I live in another country and I need to pay $100+ for shipping. I'd rather pay someone here to do it. However, I'd rather have a newer phone...

Hi Guys. Today i rooted my phone for the first time (LG Optimus G e970)
Everything went well, then i uninstalled the bloatware from AT&T and a few of the google apps that i do not use like books or music, and on the next reboot i got my phone bricked with the LG loop and "Security Error" message.
I found some great info on these forums on getting the phone in working condition with the help of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2388440
However, before i go ahead and restore the phone's original firmware, i would like to know if there is anyway to recover some of the files. I have some important notes i wish to recover, everything else is on google and the external SD card so im not all lost.
I am able to put the phone in download mode by holding the up and down volume keys and then powering on the phone with the usb cable connected to the PC, but it is not showing as an external disk on the computer. I do have the LG drivers installed tho, the same ones i used to root the phone.
Any ideas?. thanks a lot.
Yeah..maybe you should go on at&t section??

Long story short...I hard bricked my phone by flashing a rom for the wrong phone. Phone would not boot at all. No signs of life. When plugged into the computer...I noticed a driver being installed (Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008). A quick search...and a few forums later...I knew for sure my phone was bricked.
Here's what you will need:
MicroSD card
MicroSD card reader
Linux (I used Ubuntu) and Windows
Patience
_________________________________________
Here is what I did...In Windows
1 - Download your stock firmware for your phone. I have an e980...so my file would be one that ends in .tot...most other Optimus G Pro phones have stock files that end with .kdz (search XDA)
2 - Download http://d-h.st/naQWindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.1.0-Release.zip - 1.33 MB. This will work on both .kdz and .tot files.
3 - Open WindowsLGFirmware and locate your stock firmware. A list of files will show up. Click on the boxes on the left of the name of the file for the following...SBL1.bin, SBL2.bin, SBL3.bin, aboot.bin, rpm.bin, tz.bin, backupGPT.bin, recovery.bin, persist.bin, modem.bin, misc.bin, boot.bin and PrimaryGPT.bin.
4 - Then click on "Extract.tot" (or Extract.kdz). Extracted files will be in the same folder at the WindowsLGFirmare.
5 - The PrimaryGPT.bin file now has to be written to the MicroSD card. I used http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/latest/downloadWin32DiskImager.
The rest of the files, put on a usb stick for now.
Once that is done...boot into your Linux Distro(I installed Ubuntu due to permissions needed in the following steps)
6 - Once booted into Linux, have your sd card in the card reader and plugged into your computer...go to Terminal and type ls /dev/sd*
(You should see something like this.../dev/sda /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2 /dev/sda5
/dev/sdb1 /dev/sdb2 /dev/sdb3 /dev/sdb4
/dev/sdb5 .......... /dev/sdb36
7 - Next...in terminal type sudo gdisk -l /dev/sdb
You will see a list with columns for Number, Start, End, Size, Code and Name.
You must match the number on the list with the files you downloaded earlier in Windows. Write down the number in the number column for each of those files. (Example: SBL1 for me was number 2)
Now transfer the files on the usb stick that you downloaded earlier in windows to your linux desktop.
8 - Now in Terminal type sudo -i
Then type dd if=/the location of the file/name of file.bin of=dev/sbd(now type the number that your file was on the list)
This is what mine looked like dd if=/home/ricanares/Desktop/aboot.bin of=/dev/sdb5
You must do this for every file downloaded from our stock firmware(except for PrimaryGPT.bin)
9 - Now reboot back into Windows. Insert the sd card into your phone. Plug the phone into the USB port. For me, the soft keys lit up, which made me feel closer to recovering my phone. At this step, not much happened for me for at least 10 minutes. Then while plugged into the usb port and while sd card was still in phone...my battery fell out (didn't have the battery door on). Put the battery right back in...and the LG boot screen came on.
10 - Finally...remove battery while the sd card is still inserted. While holding down the volume keys, plug the phone back into the usb cable and now you should be in download mode. Now follow the guide found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660 and your phone should be back to stock in minutes.
_________________________________________
If phone does not go into Download Mode...try volume up and power or volume down and power. Another thing to try if this doesn't work for you...in step 8...instead of using your stock firmware recovery.img...search xda for a cwm or twrp image to flash. Just rename it to recovery.img.
Good luck to all. Hopefully I wrote this guide clear enough. This is my first ever!!! I finally got my hard bricked phone working and had to share the news. After trying to fix this for the past 2 days...I am off to bed. If you wish to buy me a beer...PM me. Thanks
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This guide was made for the LG Optimus G Pro E980 but may work for all other variations.
For me, when it only lights up for a split second when I remove the battery. My battery is at 100% (tested on my other device) and I can't do anything with the device. I've waited a bit and nothing has happened. I have not seen the backlights turn on except for when I remove the battery.
edit: could you link the stock firmware that you used?
edit2: when i use my empty battery, it lights up, but it disconnects/turns off every ~3 seconds. It may be because this battery is defective, but did this happen to you?

I rebricked my phone to see exactly what I should tell you...here's what I did...When the soft key lights came on...i left the phone plugged into my computer for 10 minutes. Then disconnected the phone...held down both volume keys and plugged in the usb cord...it then booted to download mode where I was able to continue to the link on step 10.(Try this a few times)
The stock firmware i used..i found here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420219 Right under where it says "I am aware about my links..." there is a link...click it and download these 2 files LGE980AT-00-V20g-ATT-US-APR-28-2014.zip.htm and LGE980_20130314_LGFLASHv151.dll
I had originally also thought my battery was defective...but it was fine. As long as the battery has a decent amount of charge...you should be set. Keep me updated. Good luck
Few questions..
When you use the imager to write PrimaryGBT.bin to the MicroSD card, does it then seem "corrupt" to Windows and asks to reformat it?
Also, simply after sticking the MicroSD card into your phone and plugging it in (w/ battery) the soft keys just light up? And did they stay lit up even when not connected to the computer? This didn't happen for me with my full battery.
And one you didn't answer: with my empty battery it the soft keys light up, but they turn off and disconnect from my computer every ~3 seconds; did this happen to you?

Thank you for your tutorial... I managed to get the 'unbrick microSD', but my phone keeps being undetected by my pc. The two soft key lights simply flashed on and then came off again in 1 second or less... Does your phone keep the lights on when connected in that manner?
To be sure if I followed your steps correctly:
1 - Battery: inserted; microSD: inserted; phone plugged-in -> soft key lights ON
2 - Wait 10 minutes
3 - Remove battery and put it back in again without disconnecting the phone;
4 - LG bootscreen should appear;
5 - Disconnect the phone and connect it again pressing the volume keys.
6 - Download mode should be back
Is that right?

The image writer did show that the MicroSD card needed to be reformatted...so it does seem corrupted only because of the flashed .bin file. But does not need to be reformatted till the phone is fully back up and running.
The soft keys did light up for me only after I flashed it with all files onto the MicroSD card in the steps I listed above. Did not stay lit up for more than a few seconds. When disconnected from the computer...they would not light up.
I don't know about an empty battery...but with my battery which was at at least 60%...the keys did light up for a few seconds ...and i did keep getting disconnected from the computer which is why i waited 10 minutes before doing anything.
Have you tried other key combinations? Try volume down, home key and power button. Try with and without being plugged into the usb port.

The soft keys did not stay on for more than a few seconds for me. The steps are correct. Try removing the sd card and try holding the volume buttons and connect to the computer via usb. The phone is detected in QHSUSB_DLOAD mode (all the drivers have been already installed) only if the microSD is removed, the battery is inserted and I press the volume keys while connecting it to the pc. Otherwise, it remains undetected.
The soft key lights go on only connecting it with the microSD inserted and without the battery.
My battery was at a decent charge (40-60%) 3-4 days ago... I don't know if it went out of charge now.

No lights on using the ac adapter. I've also discovered that the e986 kdz file cannot be read by the firmware extractor.
Thank you for your help... I'll continue tomorrow (it's quite late and I've got to get to work early :S) with your help. I'm planning to leave the phone to LG assistance if I can't recover it before this weekend.

I own an e986 (as I mentioned in my thread)... but I think that the two models are similar. I didn't think about the possibility to boot up the phone using the microSD, but as I saw on the net it's quite common for all qualcomm-based devices, so I'll give my phone another chance before leaving it to LG assistance.

Some news. After reading for hours yesterday...even though the e980 and e986 are similar...they do have some differences when it comes to the software. You must download the kdz for your phone and use a kdz extractor. I believe you said the extractor in this guide is not working for you...if you search google, you will find a few. Once you're able to extract the original firmware...restart the process. Reformat the sd card before beginning. I am in class right now, but will do my best to respond to you quickly.
My Samsung galaxy s 4 mini bricked it self apparently. STOCK ROM 4.2.2
It was rooted nothing more, only some small mods for the framework.
put my phone to charge and went to sleep. was late to because the alarm didn't ring. i took my phone to check why it didn't ring, and nothing. no light, no sound nothing. i took out the battery put it back in try to start nothing.
Anyway it doesn't get detected by odin, can't access download mode nor recovery mode. Only thing when connected to pc is installs driver for QHSUSB_DLOAD. I have tried different ways to fix it and the only way without sending my phone somewhere to service is to boot the phone through sdcard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2541005&d=1390771555
ValenteL has provided a .zip file that you run in recovery either which one you have and it should give a .img file at the size of 128mb into your sdcard
Those who have the debrick.img file from a stock 9195 4.2.2, would you be kind and sen it to me so that i can try fix my s4 mini
also i have already tried a debrick.img but from a 9192 don't know the firmware version but it didn't do anything
Here you go. http://d-h.st/XK5V .. Extract the downloaded file and u will get img file in a folder.

Thanks for the debrick image but it seems my phone it totally bricked only JTAG or a real service could fix it. if you have any knowledge in this part could it be that the sdcard i used are too slow? i have used 16GB class 2 and a 8GB class 4, still no sign.
Edit: 16GB class 2 and 8GB class 4 works fine for boot through sdcard
I could say it has progressed a little i am using the 16GB class 2 sdcard and when i plug it to the computer the phone vibrates but no qhsusb_dload is detected and odin also finds nothing
Edit: When the phone vibrates it indicates that it is turned on, mine only took a little while to go to the boot recovery mode but failed to boot the os and switched mode to either factory mode or odin mode.
The Debrick.img worked fine just need to hold down power button for like 10-15 seconds. but it seems like my phone has a broken partition, i9195 connects to odin but cannot be flashed because of, false pit file? i have read that the pit file needs to correspond to the gb model the phone is and the firmware version for instance 16GB 4.2.2, so now i need a .pit file to be able to continue the recovering process of my phone.
It is better to use a class 10 sd card.
Check the general section for the thread that explains how to unbrick using pit file.
Hey my Phone just vibrates but there is nothing on the screen and my computer downst detect anything how did you get through that vibration
Link Down
Hey, could you please provide another link for the image? Dev-host won't work anymore...

can someone send working debrick.img ??
i found one on net but not work for my i9195. I was trying with 16gb class 4 and 128gb XC 1 and different card adapters and no success. nothing to appear on my device, i was trying with power button and with USB JIG and nothing. When i plug device to PC nothing appears. but when I put it to PC without microsd appears qhsusb_dload. I dont uderstand why this not work for me.
Here are all events:
1) no microsd with battery => Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4) and after 10 sec disconnect
2) no microsd without battery => USB Input Device and after 5 sec disconnect and than Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4) and after 7 sec disconnect
3) with microsd with battery => nothing happen
4) with microsd without battery => USB Input Device and after 5 sec reconnect and again again again .... infinity...
this makes me crazy, what to do?? i am on windows 10

with bootloader CF-Auto-Root-serranolte-serranoltexx-gti9195.tar.md5
but noone of the 2 image make my phone boot again (i see it connect on USB if i dont have the SD CARD inserted)
i have tried some old SD CARD and the last ..i used a "modern" Sandisk Ultra 16GB HC I , and it is a 10 Class
but the recovey boot wont come on !!
and suggestions ?
maybe that 2 debrick img are fault , or it is needed a specific IMG ?

i could not connect once more becouse now it is again IN CONTINUOS REBOOT STATE during recovery from SD CARD

try if you have warranty.. or try jtag box.. there isnt a way to fix this yet.. funnt thing on G2 shortening a circuit brings back to life..
there's no way to fix it? really o,O
I wrote a guide a few months ago for the Lg G3, isn't it possible to use it with the right DLlL and TOT/KDZ file?
https://open-freax.fr/guide-unbrick-your-lg-g3/
emmc chip is faulty or corrupt.
I fixed mine by heating up with hot air soldering gun until solder reflow.

Same here on my h811. I followed instruction almost exactly but missed 1 thing. It looks like there is no way to fix it by reflashing. Having soft bricked Samsung,Moto and LG g2 and finding ways to recover all of them,it was a shock that this happened to my g4. Androidbrick.com also mentions that we are out of luck.
Other people have sent it back and got it fixed. You can go to LG website to apply for repair. Did the same today and will update the outcome.
When I tried to reverse the sbl1 image, I saw some instruction about booting from mmc1 (I have no clue if it's from a usb stick or the sdcard)...
(since I have really ****ty skill, I had no success in reversing anything related to the bootchain, but I can still read clear string...)
I guess it should be possible to write a copy of the g4 system on it and then boot from it. Unless lg kept the code in their bootloader but patched it out.. (would be stupid tho...)

That's pretty much exactly how to fix the problem from what I seen from the people who are withholding information. I was able to get as far as make the phone turn on and Secure Boot Error 1006. I also at one point got it to detect as LGE Android NET device, unfortunately I didn't make a backup of the SD card before flashing another partition to try and go further. I also got the recovery to popup and attempt to restore default settings, but it just reboots into the 1006. I also created the entire G4 system partition table and everything from a US991 KDZ file and got the same SBE 1006 as I did with the LS991 dump.
I think perhaps LG is working with a universal unlocked boot loader on the SD card to bring up download mode and flash whatever stock firmware. They are for sure plugging into the SD card and then flashing via USB

If it can help I had the 9008 problem on my LG G4 H811. First there was no dump to do jtag , I found mmcblk0 files somewhere on xda , so I took a 32 gb SD card, flashed it with PrimaryGPT ( taken from extracted 10N H811 firmware) using win32diskimager and then I flashed each of the 50 first mmcblk0 to the SD card using dd command of Ubuntu, put the SD card into the phone and bam, phone is alive and it can entre download mode. I tried to flash a 10N firmware but the firmware goes to the SD card, I finally flashed a custom recovery, custom rom, the phone internal memory became the SD card, listing /dev/block folder does not show any trace of the emmc, so I think that my emmc is dead
bottom line, like you, I think that the solution is with the SD card method, the inspiration came from the optimus g pro boot repair with some creativity, but I think that something is missing .

YES! This is exactly what I wanted to test, even if the emmc is dead, your phone is still "fine." Use the sd slot and it will rise from the dead.

I had no luck at all with mine. Theres no indication the card is being read, phone just gets to boot screen then turns off again after 15-20 seconds then does nothing till the battery is taken out and left for a while. Then the same thing again.

Better still, I got it repaired under warranty.
So I soft bricked my LG G Pad II 8.0 Tablet... Not the worst thing in the world, except that 1.) There seems to be not much at all on the internet as far as stock ROMs or how to guides on fixing my particular tablet. 2.) My computer does not seem to be recognizing my tablet when trying to use ADB, despite having installed all the drivers etc.
My device is stuck in a BootLoop, it will allow me to try a Hard Reset, which is unsuccessful. But it will not go into recovery mode OR Download mode no matter what sequence of the buttons I push and i've scoured the internet trying different button sequences.
My Tablet will charge when plugged into USB, my comp will also go *ding* when i press the power button with the tablet plugged in as if it is reconginzing it and everything. Also Device Manager seems to have it listed with no Exclamation Point or any sign of trouble... Just when I go to use ADB and i search for the device it says *error no device found*
The Tablet just sits there with the LG Logo screen pissing me off more and more as my attempts fail.
I will say USB debugging was not enabled beforehand *cough cough* my mistake
Will reflashing it work by using the MicroSD card method? If that is the only way i will have to just buy one i guess. It did not come with it and it is a Wifi only tablet, no carrier attached.
And if I try the MicroSD method, will it still work without being able to put the tablet into recovery mode?
I believe I have the correct .IMG file for my stock ROM... I just can't seem to get anywhere with flashing it to the device at this point.......
Please Help!

*UPDATE* So I happened to stumble upon a random piece of information that proved REALLY useful in this situation. Someone put in a forum that Lollipop ONLY is detected when plugged into USB 2.0 ports NOT USB 3.0 ports like I was using. So I did this and was able to make my tablet enter into Download Mode FINALLY.... Anyone have any good methods on how to Flash Stock ROM using ADB and a connected soft bricked tablet?
I have already tried a couple methods that I have found and they were unsuccessful. One was using ODIN software and the other was using LG Flash Tool, unfortunately neither worked....
