I have a lg g3 verizon and you are able to downgrade the latest 35 B update to 10 B via a DLL file and TOT file for 10 B....allowing to install custom recovery etc... Is there a TOT file and a dll file available at all for an older firmware version for the lg g4? Has this been tried?
Thanks in advance

My AT&T E980 is now a F240L 30C. Im totally stuck in download mode. I tried using the Telcel Mexico E980 KDZ but the LG FlashTool 2014 keeps saying that its losing server connection and keeps deleting the mexico E980 KDZ at every try. I also tried the TOT for E980 AT&T but no luck, my phone is only read as an F240L 30C, so the flash tool wont flash my e980, i also tried using the universal dll but no use. PLEASE HELP ME OUT do0dz !!
If it show that you loose The connection then dont click "OK"!!! It flashes. Weit while your device reboot then you habe your e980 kdz flashed :3

TOT method makes strict check, KDZ method does not
e980 which is AT&T's model imply TOT method for flashing back the phone. During the process it checks SBL3, as I understand, for the model of the phone. If it doesn't match, you get this error. If you proceed with KDZ method (not AT&T's ROMs), LG Flash Tool 2014 is not checking a model of your phone. You will be able to flash a ROM, but your device will not be reported as AT&T's LGE980 and you may have an access to 16GB only of internal space (if the image is for 16GB model). This is, btw, the quickest way to get your phone back to life if it is bricked. After that you will still not be able to use TOT method because SBL3 is still not native to your phone.
For success with TOT method you have to replace SBL3 along with SBL2, SBL1, aboot, and (probably) rpm and tz partitions from AT&T image, because secure boot checks each next partition to be matching the current one. You can take their images from extracted TOT file and use dd command from custom recovery or rooted Android system.
WARNING: it is quite dangerous to get a hard brick, so do it at your own risk and only if you understand what you are doing.

Hi I just found a solution to these problems that is much simpler than this. I have an att E980, and I wanted to see if I could get the sim to work on the stock lollipop kdz version only to discover that I could not, and was stuck from flashing back using TOT method, well I found a method to get back to a version of e980 in order to use the TOT method, I am working a full in depth tutorial post for it but long story short is if you flash the wrong version all you need to do is download the panama E980h kdz where all the other modem files are located here, http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Stock/E980H/ | flash it using the lg 2014 flash tools. Then you will be able to use any e980 tot file again to flash, I just restored my phone back to stock with no model error issue.

You'll first need to revert to stock using either the KDZ or TOT method before taking the OTA...

Thanks for the reply. That means I'll have to install all apps all again.
Any method I can make the Ota file flashable through recovery?
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
not if u backup all apps i use all in one tool box so when u go back stock just download all in one then restore apps make sure ure back saves on external sd or will be lost on restore from tot.
A TWRP flashable *.zip can be created from the KDZ file, but I'm not sure how it's done. Unfortunately the only TWRP flashable ZIPs I'm aware of are for the D851, those having been created from the 20b, 20e, and 20g KDZs.

Well I recommend a clean TOT or KDZ flash. Hope this will fix your problem. Please do follow this post to flash TOT or KDZ http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2785089 then Update If update available (Sometimes we get update in KDZ or TOT) then reroot again
Hello all,
I have a LG G3 D855P Brazilian model.
I've updated my G3 to Marshmallow via the LG Flashtool 2014 using this method:
http://www.android.gs/manually-update-lg-g3-to-android-6-0-using-marshmallow-kdz-and-flash-tool/
I have also installed TWRP to root it in MM.
My phone is working fine, but I want to revert back to official KK or LL. The problem is that I am now unable to restore it back to factory. I have tried the following options:
1. Using the LG FlashTool v1.8.6.527 with LGD855AT-00-V10e-EUR-XX-JUL-08-2014-16G+0.tot and LGD855_20140526_LGFLASHv160.dll.
Doesn't work. The FlashTool complains the device model is wrong (should be D855 when it's actually D855P)
2. Using the LGUP tool. Doesn't work also. It gets stuck at the "Start TOT Download" part (9%) and it never finishes.
What are my options? As far as I know, the TOT file I've been trying to use is the correct one.
Thanks in advance!

Use kdz firmware extractor tool .

What MM are you using now? So far as I know you can donwgrade from MM to LP, not KK, using the LGUP tool.
If I were you, I'd unroot or reflash the MM. Then downgrade to LP. Try to use KDZ files,
I want to clean wipe my lg g3 and install stock firmware. The two methods I discovered was kdz method and tot method. Are these two methods the best or are there other ways I don't know about? What's the difference between these two methods and which should I use to wipe everything off my phone to make it as if it was new from the factory?
You should use kdz as there are no tot files for the latest firmwares.

After some reading(I may be wrong, if someone knows better, correct me.)
tot files requires a dll file to be flashed.
tot files are released for upgrades that can't be downgraded. This makes sense for me as all tot files are from KK, there are no LP and MM tot files.
I never used lg flash tool 2014, only LGUP with kdz files and it works without issues.

Sorry this is confusing. KK is a downgrade from LP and MM. What do you mean by "tot files are released for upgrades that can't be downgraded." LG flash tool is easier.

I mean there are tot files for the first KK update, you can't downgrade lower than that, because that is the first one. This is my thoughts, I may be completely wrong here [emoji3]
is there any available file of kdz nougat version? im looking forward to upgrade my lg g3 korean version i have already 6.0 as of now there is no issue or bug from it
I want to unlock my LG 500L(I guess everyone wants that right ) which is updated to nougat.
I tried to downgrading using the F500l20u kdz from lg firmware using LGUP but it failed at 11%.
Replaced the .dll file , still no luck.
Tried to go back to LP using the tot but it failed giving the unknown command error.
So if anyone of you who want to support the unlocking of LG g4 F500L with nougat can give me suggestions on how to go back to MM in order to flash the USU.
Flashing back the Nougat kdz works fine though.

Pls provide the exact way:
You replaced the dll: which do you use? Share the link. How did you replaced it? Write the file path you used.
You tried to go back to LP: which one? Share the link.
If you used the right dll you need to flash a MM based ROM first afaik.
what lgup version do you use? Shown at the bottom when started. Should be 0.0.4.0
I would recommend to change the title to something better explaining what you need (downgrade a f500 from N to LP).
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Labs
I used the LPUp with dll version 0.4.0
I download the LP tot from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/tot-lg-g4-korean-f500l-tot-flash-files-t3294417
I downloaded the kdz of LP and MM from here
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-f500l-firmwares/
I followed the LP up refurbish option.
I tried the .dz file extraction and installation using the LPUP, still it gives the command unknown at 11%.
I used the latest .dll file from this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-lastest-version-lgup-dll-file-t3586220

You better had posted in help forum instead of here. Report your own thread (button beyond your post) and ask for thread move to help section... Just a suggestion..
Besides that:
Have you tried that https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4...rying-to-flash-kdz-lgup-t3666486/post73642302
Yea I know it's for the h815 but it's known that cross flashing between f500 and h815 is no problem an if that works well then you go UsU anyways
Ah and yes you have to hexedit the kdz to make it flash on yours.
