Can't see your pic ... too small but that's not important.
What important to get help is :
Post fastboot getvar all result without serial & imei no.
Someone will be able to assist you
You can get fastboot USB means your connection is good.
Thankyou for the reply..is this what you need..

You can run RUU 4.16.401.10 exe - http://androidruu.com/?developer=M8 then do OTA to the latest
Or you can run RUU 6.12.401.4 zip - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/marshmallow-6-0-update-htc-m8-european-t3296141
Both ways you need to relocked bootloader and lose all data.
Or my favorite way using a nandroid backup and no need to relock bootloader.
Restore 4.16.401.10 nandroid backup and install its 4.16.401.10 stock reovery then do OTA up to the latest.
All files needed and how-to read : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
I tried running RUU 6.12.401.4 zip, i was connected via the toolkit as that seemed the only way i could connect, it ran but failed....now it won't let me get back into bootloader...
I then tried RUU 4.16.401.10 exe but i get usb not recognised...
Never use that outdated toolkit ... it gives more trouble than helps .. your screenshot details is one of the trouble that you already have with that kind of toolkit.
I don't have time to put things in details as you're supposed to read the threads that I linked above.
Anyway, read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926362&postcount=4
and this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
Read thoroughly these two links and follow accordingly .. you should be fine.
Important - relock the bootloader for the RUU to work with command fastboot oem lock - read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64893560&postcount=17
Ok..i have managed to get the phone back to bootloader and i am currently in fastboot, i have a black screen with white htc..can you just confirm what i need to do next as i'm worried i won't get back to this stage
Thanks
Right..i copied the RUU 4.16.401.10 exe into the adb folder and renamed firmware zip..in command prompt i typed fastboot flash zip firmware.zip but i get
C:\adb>fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
target reported max download size of 1826418688 bytes
sending 'zip' (1687272 KB)...
OKAY [ 47.245s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
FAILED (remote: 32 header error)
finished. total time: 47.401s
That show you don't really read what I wrote above.
RUU exe you can't rename it. Just run the exe follow the RUU instructions.
RUU zip you can rename and do what you did above, but you still missed something that I wrote about htc_fastboot.exe
I'm on mobile, not easy to guide you when you don't read those links and make notes.
Honestly i'm trying but its a lot to take in if you don't know what you are doing...i appreciate the help you are giving me and i am a lot further than i was..
Just use the RUU zip that I wrote on post #6 and the process.
You should be able to do it
Forget that RUU exe.
ok now i get......OKAY Flash Zip Complete Execution time is 366(s).
I then typed fastboot reboot but the phone is still on the white htc screen
Sorry my bad..i held the power button for a while and now android is starting and optimizing apps
Now running setup......
Thankyou

Hi guys,
I have read a lot of threads on this and other forums and i didnt find any way out for my device.
I have a problem with my HTC One M8 AT&T, bootloader is unlocked, S-ON, and i can only navigate in hboot in hboot & fastboot modes. no htc logo screens or sth like this.
Its friends phone and he told me it completely discharged and booted to hboot and wouldnt boot to android. i just want to make it work again, wiping data is not the problem.. can you tell me what should i do to get recovery( TWRP/ CWM) working, thats all i need for now because im going to s-off later. i tried to do something but it didnt work.
Here is data about the phone:

4) tried official HTC KitKat 4.4.4. RUU.exe but failed:
5) tried bootable RUU over sd card- failed at "parsing...." command
i am 100% sure it isnt about corrupted files or wrong md5 sums or usb drivers not working, i tried 5 times every step i described here just to be sure( ofc i will try everything from the beginning if you have some ideas).
last thing to mention:
i found 2 threads with "similar" problems:
first one, second where @redpoint73 told them a solution may be formatting through Windows device manager. I searched for cca 3 hours in device manager and disk management etc- didnt find a solution.
maybe formatting through fastboot could be a solution( format[:[<fs type>][:[<size>]] <partition> format a flash partition. ), but my knowledge about cmd/fastboot/htc partitioning is way below that point.
Can please anyone help me? Thanks in advance
Anyone guys?

Not really got much input I'm sorry, but this doesn't look good at all bootloader) version-baseband: INVALID_VER_INFO you can see this all along your bootloader screen shot, id say the phone is dead, baseband chip problem.
your drivers on your computer also look to be installed wrong.
171 RUU error is a USB connection problem, which again links back to your drivers, should say MyHTC
also which RUU are you using, because your version main is missing ?
Hi everyone,
So my HTC one M8 was rooted with TWRP recovery. It was running Android 5.0 I think. I got an OTA update but I was not able to update it because of TWRP. I wanted the update so bad and I searched on Youtube to know how to update the software. I found a video and I followed these steps.
1 - Replace custom recovery with stock recovery
2 - Process OTA Update
3 - Replace stock recovery with custom recovery
However, when I replaced the custom recovery with the stock recovery, I downloaded the OTA update and updated it. But after the update completed, the device never booted up. It shows the HTC logo then it goes black! (The screen is still on, but black!) Have I bricked the phone? How Can I fix it please!
PS. Here is the video I watched www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPT5J8xG6w

That video is nonsense. There is a blatant mistake at 6.44 and the knob doesn't see it. You need to go back to stock first, then take the OTA.

Go into fastboot and open a command prompt. Type in fastboot getvar all and post the output here. Remove your serial and IMEI numbers before you post. Hopefully we can get you back to stock.

Okay, before I see your respond I did a stupid thing! I flashed TWRP and I wanted to flash stock ROM and I followed these instructions from this website
http://www.carbontesla.com/2015/01/htc-one-m8-4-16-401-10-stock-lollipop-ruu-0p6bimg/
But when I want to flash the rom its says "target reported max download size of 1826414592 bytes error: cannot load 'L50RUU.zip'"
Anyway, now my device is " Relocked" and when I type fastboot getvar I get this>>>>

Luckily you have a WWE device. Download this RUU and run it from Windows. Make sure you have HTC drivers installed. The easy way to do that is to install HTC Sync and then uninstall it. The HTC drivers will be left behind. That will take you to stock 4.16.401.10. You will then receive the update to 13.

No, the bootloader needs to be relocked/locked for the RUU.exe to work. It should work from fastboot mode. If it doesn't, I'll be on again tomorrow.

Glad everything all worked out. MM update should be out any day now. Enjoy.
OK this is my old phone that i gave to my dad . Has been working fine but he asked me to apply the update as it keeps coming up and he didn't want to do it .
I run the update which then stuck at x %
I have factory reset the phone and wiped the cache . After doing that it seems to boot.. says installing apps(165) and then reboots and says starting apps and then just sits there .
Im guessing it stuck half way between the old rom and the new .
The HTC manager wont see the phone . Downloaded the RUU for it but it wont see the phone . Thought it might be easier to put a custom rom on it but because the pc wont see the phone i cant unlock it to install a custom rom .
The dam thing is driving me mad... Wasted 6-7 hours googling stuff to try and resolve it but everytime i think i have found a fix its not quite right !!
Please can anyone help ?

The is a UK phone originally with Orange which i unlocked to use GiffGaff Sim
Im at the state where i have wasted 8+ hours googling and trying things and still pretty much where i was at the start . There dosent seem to be a RUU for uk (exe) and all the various .img have tried they dont work . Im happy to go custom but im assuming because its locked and S-On and the fact it wont boot to the OS that makes things trickier .
Can anyone help ... in english and list the files i need to flash this back to standard or custom just so it works please !!
Regards
Snaggle
Don't know whether this will help but worth a try.
Flash a htc signed 6.12.61.4 firmware and see how it goes.
You can get the file and how-to on post #5 in my backup thread linked in my signature.
See whether any error when flashing signed firmware.
Example : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66787175&postcount=7
the link to the file is now dead
It's my file .. I know the link is good, just tested.
Gotta go now ... good luck
yup was my bad... clicked wrong thread... Ok tried that and still no go .... what options have a i left ?

What exactly are you trying to flash? You can't flash much of anything (.img) with a locked bootloader.

S-on is not a problem, and locked bootloader is not an issue, in that it can be unlocked. Nor is no OS that big of a deal.
If there is no RUU for your version, than your next option may be to unlock the bootloader, install custom recovery, then install a stock TWRP backup (or custom ROM).
Hi
My phone is stuck at fastboot. Here is how it started:
It was working fine and suddenly it hanged and then turned off(Thought might be a battery issue as the battery is old and drops to 0 unexpectedly when under 30%). Later on, after plugging it into wall socket charger the orange LED kept blinking and on connecting it to the laptop it showed the device as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008.
After trying a few things with power and volume button once I was able to turn it on to fastboot. Tried factory reset but it failed and went back to dead state.
Current situation:
I am able to turn it on to fastboot mode.
(How:By removing its battery for more than 40 sec's. Reconnecting the battery, then connecting it to laptop. Usually it turns on by itself and fails to load OS(normal boot) so goes dead and then turns on again after some time to fastboot by itself. You can try pressing the vol down and power button to turn it on )
Things I have tried:
1)Installing recoveries- all have failed including stock recoveries.
I have tried TWRP kitkat , lolipop ,CWM etc all the recoveries I could find for my device.
going to HBOOT->Recovery .Shows 3 android logo on skates and then restarts to fastboot mode by itself.
2)Flashing RUU/Stock ROM using the external SDCard method (renaming to 0PFJIMG and then HBOOT to autodetect and install) but in that all the things fail showing "FAIL-PU" and then later as that the package size is , probably because the HBOOT version in ROM is lower than my phones version.
I have tried installing/flashing this file : 0PFJIMG_A51_DTUL_M60_DESIRE_SENSE70_MR_hTC_Asia_India_3.17.720.3_Radio_01.01.010_U10305041_08.01.510 15_release_478672_combined_signed_2_4.zip (1.57 Gb)
Downloaded it from 3 different website , all fail to extract, says its currupt , dont know why!
To fix the HBOOT I have even tried the flash the lower version HBOOT using fastboot commands bt that also fails as the device is not able to load in the RUU mode:
fastboot oem rebootRUU -> this fails and the device turns off with orange LED blinking and the laptop not recognising the device any more(i.e as a usb/fastboot device, it shows it as an unrecognised device). Again I have to remove the battery and reconnect to make it On in fastboot mode again .
Due to this problem(command failure) , I am unable to temporarily flash lower HBOOT ( 0PFJIMG_A51_DTUL_3.17.720.3_signed_Hboot.zip)( Read it somewhere that flashing this will solve the problem of "device halted due to large image update" that comes when flashing with Sdcard) and then flash the RUU via fastboot as well.
Since I have S-On , I am not able to permanently downgrade the HBOOT version as well. + on top of that since recoveries are also not installing I am not able to install ROM using them.
fastboot erase cache -> also fails

So in short , I am unable to flash recovery, go to oem reBootRUU mode to flash using laptop, flash RUU using ext micro SDcard and the device never turns on after a restart(Reboot fastboot option in fastboot mode fails)
Thanks in advance. Help will be appreciated.
I am not a noot but neither a pro. I welcome even complex solutions such as flashing eMMC etc.

These are the screenshots i obtained, Please suggest me the procedure that must be easy to follow, considering my limitations of IT advanced knowledge.
Thank You. I am now waiting for you response.
You need these steps :
1. Change your current modelid: 0P6B6**** to 0P6B10000
How-to read this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
If you can boot to recovery (not sure twrp 3.0 can work on KitKat, if can't install twrp 2.8.3.0)
Then run command adb shell
Skip command su
Then the rest for Europe MID codes
2. Install RUU - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
There is a shortcut way with flashing firmware only but seems you're new to this, installing RUU is a better option
3. Install twrp 3.2.1.0
4. Install your Oreo ROM

Please Help me, My phone is currently off. Please help me.
Your getvar show you successfully changed MID as said in step 1.
But you skip step 2 and install lineage 14.1, this won't work & explained the bootloop.
Do step 2 then post fastboot getvar all. Once ok then only do step 3 & later step 4 install lineage OS

thanks My phone is working with Marshmallow. I want to move on oreo.......How I can move on to it, and please suggest me a best rom thanks.
Follow step 3 then step 4 as you completed step 1 & 2.
I can't suggest a best rom as I usually on my own customized ROM, but now I'm on Oreo LOS 15.1 and there's only one Oreo LOS 15.1 that openly public release for now.

ckpv5 graciously gave you all the steps required to update the firmware and install an Oreo ROM. Why are you skipping steps? Just follow them all. He wouldn't post it, if you didn't need to do it. Why would you only follow half the advice given to you, and expect it to work properly?
