[Q] Whatsapp message history corrupt after reboot

I have a very strange problem, im trying to be as clear as i can
every time after i do a normal reboot, when i open up whatsapp my message history appears to be corrupt. It then restores to the auto whatsapp backup made around 4.00 am. Since i am a heavy user of this program, this leaves me with lots of missing messages and pictures.
This happened when i updated to sebas's v5. Every time if i flash a rom, i make a backup with my backup root (without installing whatsapp from the market). This has worked always (i get every message and picture from the backup point), except for the last three rom switches (v5.0, 5.1 and 5.1.1).
Ive already tried to delete whatsapp completely and then installing it original from the market, but this still leaves me with a corrupt message history after a normal reboot (with a hot reboot there a no problems).
So why dont you use a hot reboot instead ? Well because the camera (both 3.0 and 3.5) sebas is using keeps getting stuck after shooting a couple of photos, in which i have to pull out the battery and do a restart (ending up losing my message history). But this camera problem is an other subject
So if anyone could please help me with my whatrsapp problem, it is very annoying is a hardcore user.
I don't know the real answer to your problem..but ! Tonight I flashed the 5.1.2...had the same thing with whatsapp. Really everything else worked fine. Now flashed it on a other sd card ALL is fine. Strange ....
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
just a suggestion, have no idea if it will work:
when whatsapp restores the messages take a titanium backup of it. then using titanium backup delete the whatsapp application, dont delete the backup data
delete (or rename so that you have a backup of what is there) whatsapp history folder from your sd card, reboot the phone
then from titanium backup restore app+data
again as i said im not sure if it will work so make sure you use backups if you dont wanna lose anything, especially the whatsapp history folder on the sd card
I also have to the same problem today Winesh.. tried everything using Titanium Backup by restoring files but it doesn't seem to work. I could try Hassand's method.

[Q] Unable to restore whatsapp messages

HI guys first time poster here
I did a factory reset on my stock jellybean xs a few hours ago and am having trouble restoring my whatsapp messages.
I have backed up and copied the entire whatsapp folder to my xs. When starting whatsapp for the first time it will detect a restore but when selected, none of my messages get restored.
My .crypt file is over 10mb big. And i installed the latest version of whatsapp.
Any clues as to why it might fail?

"Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped." (CM 13)

I'm constantly getting the two following message dialogues whilst navigating (can hardly navigate without getting interrupted):
"Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped."
"Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped."
I just flashed CyanogenMod 13 and recovered all my apps through Titanium Backup and now I can't get rid of these messages that pop out every second. Any help on how to solve? I'm on Zenfone 2 ZE551ML if it matters.
Titanium Backup is to blame here.
I guess you can't recover any old backups after flashing the new ROM. Not sure though.
Try to factory reset or reflash CM13 and then install your apps manually.
Good luck!
check if you restored any google apps through titanium bkup.

Whatsapp restore from google drive error

Hi,
My old OPO phone was water damaged, and I've just received an Oneplus 3 as a replacement. Unfortunately, when I try and restore my whatsapp chats from my backup on google drive, it detects the backup (about 500mb in size) but then gives an error message “Unable to restore your chats from this backup” and then offers only to restore a very old backup. I have lots of photos and messages that I need access to and want on my phone.
Has anyone come across this problem and/or has a solution?
One thing I thought might be causing the problem was that I temporarily used a data only sim card in Japan in my old OPO when it was damaged. Could this be causing a problem?
Thank you for any help you can give.
As an update. I skipped the restore and then went into the menu settings to restore. It went slowly through the restore, and looked liked all 522mbs were restored. I can see picture files on my device now, but on whatsapp only empty groups are shown. All my chats are missing. Any help would be so much appreciated.

SMS didn't restore after fresh 8.1 install

When I installed the developer preview, my text messages automatically restored for the first time since I've been using Android (~6 yrs). Stupid me didn't bother to use SMS Backup & Restore this time when I flashed the factory 8.1 image and none of my texts restored. When I check Settings|System|Backup it shows "SMS Text Messages: Waiting to backup" while every other category shows backup or sync completed.
Is there a way to recover my texts from the last backup? How can I ensure they backup properly in the future?
