Ever tried to "learn" a finger and the unlock with another one? Try 5-6x with a "new" unlearned finger. It will always unlock the phone. Even with a friend's finger. Hope they will fix this horrible security issue with the next update
Sorry, Problem solved. I had a SmartLock-Device which unlocked the phone after it should ask for the PIN-Code.
:cyclops:
No such issues, if my finger was too cold I can't unlock with all of my registered finger for sure someone else's finger will not unlock it...

Hi T800 users,
I activated the fingerprint scanner about a week ago. It worked without any problems. Today I tried to unlock my tab but the scanner pad wouldn't accept my finger print anymore. I would get all sorts of messages like Swipe slower or Swipe faster etc. I had to unlock by using the alternative PIN code. Only after deleting the old finger prints and re registering a new set, this feature would work again. I only register(ed) 1 set of finger prints. Anyone else having this problem? LJ
I have never had this problem. Sometimes it wont read my finger because sometimes the home button gets a little dirty so i wipe it off. What I ussally do when registering my fingerprints is that i scan my main finger that im using only 3 times. Then I scan my other fingers incase my main finger fails the unlocking via fingerprint. I do all that under one registered finger print. May that could help?

I am going to try this. May be it works. I had the same problem again today and switched to pattern. LJ
Ok! Can you post back if it works or not?

I have read all sorts of instructions on other threads e.g. For the Note 4. Initially the scanner works. But after a while it wouldn't accept the fingerprint anymore. It really sucks. I have deactivated it now for good. End of story for me!

Weird... Works well for me., but then again I am not a heavy user of the scanner,.
No point of it in a tablet. I just use it for locking up apps instead of typing a password in.
After upgrading to the latest firmware NJ6 the fingerprint scanner seems to be working much better.
BTW this FW is brilliant, very fast and smooth, and there is much more free RAM than in the previous version. Highly recommended.

Me and my brother both have lg g3s, and recently I have accidentally reset his phone by guessing the knock code too much, thinking that it would only lock his phone for a few minutes. Now I am afraid that he will try to do the same thing to my phone, and I have no idea how to prevent it from happening. At this point, I think it would be safe to not even have an unlock code. So, I am asking if there is any way to remove this heavily flawed feature.
No you'll just have to not have a password or dont let him have your phone... Would be more sensible

The device is unlocking in the pocket! Even though I have a pattern on top of fingerprint password! I am little worried that my pocket will send unwanted emails to my boss or place an unwanted call! I need a remedy soon. I am sure this issue has been discussed and dealt with in the forum but a quick search did not reveal much. Google gave XDA thread links of similar issue for oneplus one but not for three.
Have you a Smartwatch or Bluetooth Headset? I think it's Smart Lock. Try disable this feature. Smart Lock disable all Security procedures while such a device is connected. And the Fingerprint Reader unlocks your device with the Temperatur of your leg. Try to put the phone with Screen outside in your pocket.

Anyone having issues adding their fingerprints? I get most of the way through and it dumps me back out to the menu. I tried about 15 times and same result every time. I feel like it is registering a touch somewhere on the screen or buttons or something when it dumps me back and no matter how I try to touch the scanner it does the same thing. I have never had issues like this with the last 4 galaxy fingerprint scanners. Anyone else? Ideas?
I have this issue on the note 7 finger print sensor. Whenever i place my finger at the lock screen, it does nothing and without any error message. i can only unlock it via pattern. Tried rebooting the phone and it is still the same. I even delete off the finger print and re-add the finger print but it is still the same.
Not sure if anyone else have this issue and how do we solve this?

Seems like a defective unit. On my n930f works even better than on my already sold s7edge.

Hey all. My question is how can I set up fingerprints for apps like banking but not have to have it make me set it up on the lock screen.

I don't think so because the app is taking the lock screen fingerprint info. Curious, why wouldn't you use the fingerprint scanner for the lock screen anyway?

I'd assume security. Law Enforcement can force you to unlock your phone using your fingerprint, but they can't force you to unlock it with a pin/swipe/other method of unlocking. You can plead the fifth with a password, but not with your finger.
Reboot. On the first use of the fingerprint scanner after a reboot you're required to unlock using the method you chose during setup.

Huh? What question are you answering?

@EeZeEpEe: I'm not answering a question. I was sort of commenting about the third post, wherein the poster brings up the fact police can force you to unlock the device if you use biometrics (i.e., the fingerprint scanner). If people are really that concerned, simply reboot the P2XL. The very first time the device is unlocked using the fingerprint scanner after a reboot, the pin, password, or pattern must be entered to unlock. This is because use of the fingerprint scanner requires any one of those security options be set.
The problem was, I was at work and rushed my post, rather than taking the time to make clear what I was referring to.

Ah okay. That's a good idea to keep in mind. Unless you're dead like the guy in the news recently. Largo, FL isn't far from me actually. LOL.
