Ah, ok.
Which charger are you using? And are you watching 4K content?

Can happen but not with a good charger.
It happened to me under heavy usage but only using the good old 550 mAh charger that in all other situations can charge the phone even if in use.
I suggest you using "Ampere" app to monitor mAh from charger

Same here when screen brightness is above 75%. Using sony cable and 1.5amp rated adapter from z ultra. Happens even when not watching videos, & just surfing and listening to music. Try lowering brightness always works for me!

You may need to up charger to 2amps if you're going to watch movies while charging. Also try to let it charge until full then watch vids and it should trickle charge between 100 - 96% if it continues to drop even if you aren't using it, you may have a problem.

Battery life. OMG!

Took my OGP off the Qi wireless charger at 9:00am at 100% charge. I did not use it at all. Checked email at 11:30am battery said 100%. What? Did not use phone at all, was at a party. Checked email at 5:30pm battery at 97%. Wow. Checked news and some videos. Checked phone again at 8:00pm battery at 92%, played some videos, checked some websites and weather then put phone down. Went to bed at 2am. Went to put phone on wireless charger. Battery was at 82%.
All I did was do the hack to turn off High temperature property and Thermal mitigation daemon. Then I went into the battery setting and turned on Quad Core Control. Screen brightness is set to 100%.
Amazing battery life. Just amazing. My S4 would go to 99% immediately after unplugging from the charger.
Yeah, Baby!
Idle battery life is proven amazing
- 9:30am - Took phone off the charger at checked email and news- 100%
- 11:30am - Looked at phone and checked email at - 100%
- 3:30pm - Looked at phone and checked email - 100%.
- 3:50pm - after watching videos and playing with phone for 20 minutes - 94%.
I'm in shock.

I've also noticed if you take it off the charger immediately after it says it's done charging, the battery will only last you about 10 hours, but if you leave it on after it's done for a few hours it can last you a billion years
I don't have any quad core cpu option in my F 240k battery settings

Coming from the S3, I'm really impressed with the battery!
I read several reviews that said "the battery is not that great".... I took my phone off the charger at 6:15am, it's now 11:20am (just over 5 hours) and I'm at 93%. With my S3, I would have been in the lower 80% by now, heck I would have been at about 93% by the time I got to work (40 minute drive). And I've been using it too... 2 push email accounts, several text, 2 or 3 calls, weather updates, ect... Standby time is just really amazing on this phone!
I could easily go almost 2 days with moderate use.... My S3 was ready for a charge in 12 hours with the same amount of use.

Well having this phone for 5 days coming from a GNoteII (alliance rom) and this phones battery doesn't last quite as long. Stand by with all connectivity off isn't nearly as good either. I'm still giving it time and waiting for my external battery charger so I can slow charge it and determine from there.

I was having issues when I first got my OGP with battery brain. Called LG did a soft reset and it improved my Battery life drastically...
Sofy reset=pull battery out while phone is on,leave out for 3-5minutes replace battery. Then run a couple battery cycles... 100% charge down to 15% or so ..my Battery life is great now, oh and give Greenify a look in the play store its a great app for extending battery life.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??
When I leave for work it's at 100%. I txt a few people and sometimes send out some picture texts. I'm constantly on Google+, Facebook, YouTube, and Flipboard during my breaks, lunch, and whenever else I can sneak off. By the time I leave work my phone is typically around 50 - 70% and once I get in my car I always plug it in to charge. I've noticed it charges faster than my old HTC One X+. Another thing I noticed is when I have it plugged in while using Waze navigation and sometimes the music player, the charge will stay at a constant. It won't go up or down. My HTC One X+ would always drain the battery using Waze even plugged in to the charger at about 10 - 15% per hour. I wasn't a big fan of that and always had me worried if I went on road trips and I drive A LOT. I put almost 30k miles on my VW Passat the first year I got her Overall I'm loving the battery life on my G Pro :good:

Couldn't agree more but I was just stating what I went from. Hopefully the development picks up around here.
I am also coming from a NOTE 2, after owning both I will say that MY battery life is better with this than the note 2 at 100 % screen brightness. 2 days on my last OGP before I Cracked the screen. But I will also say that leaving it on the charger after getting to 100 percent does help with it staying at 100 for a lot longer. this new OGP is shaping up to be the same way. Really great battery while watching video's listen to music stream from Rhapsody and Youtube. I even lost some service due to being on T-Mobile( don't live in a refarmed area) and I still will not go back to the Note 2.
Is this good /bad/ugly?
Frankly expected a bit more
Everything on including mobile data, wifi and screen at 42%
Most use was on mobile data (..70%)

Phone Drains faster than Charge

Hi XDA Forum!
I've got a Sony Xperia Z5 Premium that drains faster (or at the same rate) than it charges playing games such as Pokémon GO but also oddly using applications such as Snapchat. Obviously this is inconvenient as I'd like to be able to charge my phone via a portable charger and use it at the same time but the phones battery percentage either stays the same or goes down slowly while plugged in (whether its a wall charger or not). When checking the charging current with AIDA64 and Ampere, I get jumping readings but it usually stays around a charge rate of 300mA with the occasional jump up. Any reason for this ? Currently using build 32.2.A.0. 224 (Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow).
Realised that the Jump from 17% to 18% took way too long and looked at the readings for the charging current. Please see attached while I'm still sane Help on this is really needed!
Edit 1: Bear in mind the charger I'm using for this is rated for 1500mA and when using USB ports rated for 2400mA, the same issues occurs and with different cables (definitely seems like a phone issue rather than equipment used-issue)
Edit 2: Also bear in mind that my brightness is on lowest, WiFi is turned off, GPS is on Battery Saving and all other apps are closed via the recent apps drawer.
Send help pls!
Another Imagine depicting how bad this issue actually is. I can't use my phone at all while it is charging or else it just doesn't charge at all. The image shows that from ~10:00AM until now (4:00PM) it has gone up by roughly 4%.

Stop being so impatient, we all have lives here... Next, stop using your fone while it is charging and let us know how that goes. Next use a different wall outlet and charger and cable and see whether things improve. There are quite a number of factors at play here. Lastly, factory reset if all else fails...

When charging without using the phone, it charges slowly but surely. It is when the device is in use that it drains faster than it is able to charge (which is inconvenient seeing as I need to use it while Charging for a Pokemon GO event). I have tried multiple cables and multiple outlets and have just performed a factory reset yesterday (via Sony's Xperia Companion) which I'm not so sure has fixed the issue as I'm still getting the low current readings. If the issue persists I'll just get a Samsung Galaxy S7 next month since I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have this issue and I'll most likely have to send my current Sony Xperia Z5 Premium to Sony for repairs.
One more thing, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium's battery is rated at 3.8V and 3430mAh but looking in AIDA64 the voltage shows as 4.106V. Normally as a somewhat tech savvy person, I would be extremely worried quite a bit if voltages were this off. Any help?

yeah , calculate accurate and post it :good:
Mine went from 6% to 62% in 59 minutes today. It reached 100% after about 100 mins. Stock charger and stock cable. You have to look for the double lightning bolt symbol in the battery icon to know that it's charging rapidly. The fast charging only works with the stock charger. I tried charging with my Nexus 6P charger which charges that phone quickly but didn't charge my Honor quickly.
The company has made a claim that it takes 1 hr 50 min to completely charge with their OEM Charger. So I am sure that the QC3 works fine since the battery capacity is also 4000mah. Other phones with 3000-3300mah charge within 1 hr 30mins coz they have substantially lesser capacity.

23:02 @ 13% (11mins; +8%)

Next time if you experience slow charging you can try flipping the cable 180 degrees and try. Because that's what I've noted and even @venugopalu007 also experienced similar thing.
I use Ampere from the playstore to test the voltage on all my phones, so I can figure out what connections work best.

I am also noticing the same thing. This is weird.
Mine can definitely go full charge under 2 hours charging from about 10%, BUT only if I don't touch it at all. If I use the phone at all during charging it charges at a literal snail's pace even if I open low power app like an ebook reader. Screen is always set to around 35% brightness, and I'm using stock in the box huawei charger. Ampere gives it a reading of 1060mA then it goes down to 600ish mA and it does display the doublebolt in the battery icon . Is that normal? At times it can charge for 40minutes while I'm using a game app and it barely increased 1%(screen on) While my sister using a micro USB charger on her xiaomi redmi note 4, had no severe slow down on charging times even when playing intensive games while connected to the charger( Same battery size I believe).

Hello..
It's a 5v/2a.. and there is nothing that is going to change that.
If you stick with the charger that came with the device, you should have no issues simply charging it whenever you slumber.
It will not "Overcharge" and shorten the life of your battery.
The biggest mistake users make is trying to force a higher V/A charger down their deivices throat..
If you employ some of the features available to you via Power Saving options.. unless you are a Heavy gamer / movie watcher, you should be making it through a day... I'm averaging 7 SOT in 16 h powered up.. I'm @ 3h 41m SOT and 68% battery for example right now..

Determining the Actual Battery Capacity on a new S9

AccuBattery shows estimate of 2740 mAh on S9 one week old. If true, I'm replacing the phone tomorrow, if for no better reason than a comparison. However, there must be a better way to determine the actual "depth of power" of a non-removable battery. (Actual amount of juice)
Can anyone tell me how to determine that? How do I know I've gotten what I paid for in a battery speced at 3000 mAh?
Not with apps
Only 100% accurate way would be hooking a test unit up to the actual battery

Do you mean by opening up the phone?
I do not see that as a good alternative in this situation.
Has no one created faux pas benchmarks such as playing a particular Youtube video for 1 hour (or variation) with Google Chrome, with wifi measured signal strength noted, Screen on 100% brightness or measured alternative, and noting any other variables, for various devices?
Could you post any known similar results, compilations?

What I mean is, stop listening to apps for something they cannot possibly measure accurately as it would have to be done with hardware
If you want more accurate estimate of the battery capacity through Accu Battery - do not forget to go to flight mode first and then charge your phone.
BTW my 1yr old s9 shows ~2715mah (and it actually says it approximate value).

Thanks for the reminder. I usually keep the phone off but have not always been vigilant about Flight Mode. Definitely no data, but I have sometimes left WiFi or Bluetooth. With as little activity as I get lately, I had assumed I was not using much if any mAh during the charge.
2715 mAh on a 1-year-old S9 seems impressive. Do you generally try to stop charge at 80% or let it go to 100%?
Do you charge overnight?
Do you generally let power go until the phone notification of charge at 15%?
Thanks,
Marc
Comparative test of different recent phones
I noticed that AccuBattery's Estimated Capacity can be tricked into reporting a higher value by having the screen on for a few minutes just before unplugging.
That is discouraging this one from trusting the algorithms for the AccuBattery, as also stated by 'Detection.'
I did run a preliminary test with a few phones.
2 hours run time, in safe mode, airplane mode, WiFi strength ~ -53dBm at a distance of 30 feet. Google Chrome browser, youtube running Battery Drainer 2 video, sans audio, 100% brightness. (I assume the S9 is at 100% when fully to the right and into the red line for a little bit of distance.)
1st phone a 3-month-old refurb with specs battery capacity of 3400 mAh ran about the same time as the S9 spec at 3000 mAh. Which would suggest either the S9 is in better condition or the refurb is in worse condition than originally considered.
I will probably run this again using a movie and audio though I'm limited on the one phone to play video with 'Drive' video player. Hopefully, the S9 can use this as well.
All suggestions welcome,
Thanks,
Marc
