Hi all,
I think it would be a good idea to list what users have paid for their HTC Desire when upgrading through their service provider.
To make this a useful thread I suggest we keep to a simple format of key information: -
Country - UK
Service Provider - T-Mobile
Contract Length - 12 Months
Tariff Name - Flext 25 WnW
Monthly Cost - £27.50

Upgrade Date - 17/05/2010
My Upgrade is Due next month so I will update these details then, would love to know what others in the same situation are paying.
UPDATE 17/05/2010:
I have upgraded today, T-Mobile UK is out of stock so I asked if I could buy it from a store, they said yes but only a T-Mobile store, well I called around and no T-Mobile store has any stock! So I called CPW and they had stock and checked the discount and it still applies!
Remember that my deal includes a F&F discount, and this is the reason i have to pay towards the handset, not a big deal I'm happy!

Do employees still get 1/2 price line rental? I thought T-Mobile had stopped that cos peeps were selling them on to customers!

Let’s keep this thread just about cost and ask questions like this in other threads. But to answer your question, people who originally had a Employee or F&F discount are able to keep them.

Are they on it permanently then? Is it still possible to get F&F now?
The deal I was offered was the Business Unlimited tariff on T-Mobile - 24 month contract at £30 with free phone and 3 months free rental ..... is this good or bad?
Anyone with the discount has it until they end their contract by moving to another provider. AFAIK T-Mobile is no longer offering this discount, so if you don’t have it you won’t get it.
In terms of your deal, I have no idea if it is a good deal or not, why not compare it with what others have listed on this thread. Maybe you should list yours in a similar format, so to help others.
I’ll be upgrading in a few weeks so I’ll update my first post with the details then too.

oh noes! it is gone with no warnings, pms or otherwise! I'm very upset at its loss
Probably because it violated Forum Rule #5.
That thread was kinda borderline.....

and why tonight of all nights and only aweek or 2 away from the thread being old news and obsolete
Although it was admirable that shinzul and toast were developing wimax for cm, a "bounty" thread such as that one was not in keeping with the spirit of xda. I cannot speak for them but I feel that is likely why it was taken down.
If you allow one such bounty thread where does it end?
I fully support the developers outstanding work on wimax, but the thread was just inappropriate.

Probably something to do with GPL.That's why most of the Gingerbread threads were closed.

Or was it rule 8? Can't recall, but anyway, whichever one prohibits compensation of developers in exchange for specific work.

Probably for violating Rule #8...
8. Donations.
We appreciate all donations to xda-developers.com, it keeps our forum online and well maintained. As a user you're allowed to ask for donations in your signature as a thank you for your hard work. However donations up front are not allowed, this forum is about sharing, not about getting paid to do something, that's what your job is for.
If xda allows one "bounty" thread they must allow them all. Where does it end? Does xda turn into one giant "Wanted" poster?
Everyone supports and believes in the work shinzul and toast were doing on wimax and we look forward to their eventual success, but if you solicit donations in advance for specific work to be done, then they are no longer donations but compensation. Donations cannot have an "if" attached.
WTF .... dont the mods know they can lock a thread too? why delete everything?
if they remove one then remove then all, or change the rules
damn... so close too.. just gonna have to follow shinzul's tweets.
You can get the phone for $150 at letstalk.com
Their price is 220 or something but use the coupon $75VZN for 75 more off. I just ordered one for $150 with a new contract. At the verizon store its 300 with a new contract.
199.00 at Amazon
Kang Kang Kang a Gong get it on.....

Cheapest place to buy via upgrade for Sprint???
I'm looking at Costco and it's currently $199.99 with $25 MIR (Free activation+shipping). The thing I have to consider is that I'm going to be using another phone line to upgrade, then putting it on my line. At some places (Letstalk.com, Amazon.com) they charge a separate ETF if that happens. So far, Bestbuy, Radioshack, and Costco are the only ones that'll allow me to do that with an upgrade ETF free.

I think wire fly charges an etf if u switch lines in the first 6 months.
There is already an Official Sprint ordering thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1694875

I see that i was charged $299.99 which means no taxes was added. Did anyone else see this?
nah i was charged full amount... 699 plus 48 bucks tax
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
$733.49
299 plus tax BTM
$299 minus $239.00 in best buy credit for tradeins.
$299 - $200 trade in - $50 extra trade in value promo
$299 + 43 tax - $200 trade in - $25 (left over on the $50) so around 113. Of course version will add another $30 (which I can't figure out i mean isn't this the same as saying the upgrade price is $329 ?)
