The petition was noticed by LG & they publicly acknowledged it as their manufacturing fault. But what's the benefit? Those devices which were bought under official warrenty, they were being repaired in the past. But those who didn't have any official warrenty because they bought from 3rd party retailers, they were the actual sufferers and imo the petition was actually for that.
But it seems LG is still not clear to the public because when I approached to the local customer service center of LG here in Bangladesh, they simply denied the fact & said as I don't have any official warrenty, they are not gonna provide hardware support. WTF???? So what we gained from LG's statement? Simply nothing. Even the earliest batch of G4 isn't 1 year old!!!!
So if any of u guys can make it repaired from LG without warrenty, please comment here with
1. yr model no,
2. from where u bought the device
3. Is it the same model that is specifically designed for yr country (ie. H815T for HongKong etc.)
4. Which country u live in?
This data maybe valuable if LG continues denying the repair. Thank u.

They're not denying a repair, and we've had this sort of thread before. It clearly states in their announcement that you have to contact your local LG service centre.

My post also clearly states that I went to a local provider and they denied it.
There is no 'Local LG Repair Center' in the US. Customer support said they cannot repair H815s in the US.

Same problem with me. H815T. These are defective batch sold by sellers on ebay for $400+ price.
Stay clear of them. LG direct repair center in india refused to repair it. So i went to HK support and now working with them on the repair.
Hope they help with the local repair.
I bootlooped my (metroPCS) LG G4 a few months back flashing a Rom using Flashify. I'm still trying to work out a solution. Best of luck to you, and if and/or when I'm successful in my efforts I'll be sure to share my solution.

HELP HARD BRICKED my LG G4
At the time I did and ended Downgrade process seemed that all ends well but the device was turned off and no longer enciendio not give anything the PC screen or only recognizes the device as QHSUSB_BULK to find and install the drivers recognize the device with the name Qualcomm HS-USB QLoader 9008 (COM13):crying::crying::crying:
Thanks for taking the time to read the post and I hope you are taking the time to read this, and you can help me solve this brick on my lg g4:good:
any solution? :crying:
As far as I know there is no fix if you attempted to downgrade your bootstack...sorry. There is a bold lettered post warning not to attempt a downgrade. Hopefully you can get a replacement through your carrier but they may deny it if they can figure out what you did.
it is not known whether there will be any solution as lg LG G2 or G4?
I sent mine in to LG repair and about a week later got it back fixed and flashed to 81110N under warranty.
Took about 8 days total.

Bingo! there is no such thing as a hard brick if you got the right equipment.
How much did they charge to repair it ?

Under warranty = No Charge
(or at least did in this case)
Just tell tmo to send you a replacement under warranty for $20. They'll pay for shipping both ways.

I had not heard of that service. Nice.
But, I actually wanted my particular phone back. I don't have any of the problems some others have reported with wonky screens, messed up batteries, wifi issues or whatever some folks have experienced and I did not want a refurb nor even take a chance with another new unit. If I experienced any of these issues, I'd have been all over this for the quick turnaround.
Also, I bought mine outright and am a prepaid customer. TMO's official answer to our service requests is: Suck a big pink ****...go to lg

Yeah but don't they check the device and discover you just voided your warranty ?
Even then it isn't the end of the world, these guys have the tools to fix it.

soo I made some digging through the internet and i found Official LG statement about G4 and it says that :
"LG Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the LG G4 smartphone that has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components. Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (LG Electronics) for repair under full warranty."
I have unlocked bootloader and they sent me back my G4 from service with bill for over 250$...
I focused on that sentence : " Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (LG Electronics) for repair under full warranty."
Soo , what do you think about it ?
When I show that sentence to the service , will G4 get repaired ? or it will provide something else ?
(I'm sorry for my English , if it's bad ,because I am from Poland and it's not my native language )
I believe they usually regard unlocking the bootloader as voiding the warranty. Some have gotten theirs fixed while a lot of others haven't.
Depends on where you at, because I believe in Germany your warranty is not void if you unlock bootloader, cause LG HAS to treat Hardware issues differently form Software Issues, so they are not allowed here to take your warranty away from you if you tweak Software Side

But what about the warranty? Where have you bought it at? I have mine from MediaMarkt, just emailed them, they told I should bring it to them... I'm just thinking what they will tell me when they will see "Bootloader Unlocked" message
Lg hungariy say :no
Unlocked bootloader with bootloop / motherboard issue
Hello, I've face the same bootloop issue recently, I had unlocked bootloader. I've contected with LG customer support, where I described the whole situation. I've returned the device (as the customer care suggested me by knowing the situation) to a Hungarian - local - LG service. Now regardless what LG's customer care said they don't want to replace my motherboard because of the unlocked bootloader. :crying:
What you suggest me to do? Where can I check that why someone's got repaired while the other's aren't? It depends on where you live, that they fix this problem or not (even with unlocked bootloader)?
ps: I've got a H815, with T-Mobile carrier lock
Thanks forwards!
My G4 went into booloop without any reason. I installed a Custom rom and everything was finde for weeks and now if i want to boot up there is only the lg logo and it repeats all the time
i tried to unbrick it with lg flash tool but the flash tool stops at 9% and says: Upgrade stopped due to an error.
i hope someone can help me with this.

This is a common problem on our G4s, mine is currently on repair due to this problem... LG admitted that the bootloop problem is due to a hardware issue and it will be fixed under full warranty.
I recommand you contact a local carrier from which you bought the G4 or local LG service and tell them about your problem.
They have to repair it for you since they officially admitted the hardware problem.

It's a manufacturing issue. The problem was made while they were producing the LG, so whether you unlock the bootloader or not, the bootloop would still appear.
They basically sold you a device with defect and they are literally BOUND to repair it. When I first spoke to LG here they were also rejecting me but then when I spoke to the main director of something here in my country, a representative here IDK, whatever... and he said you know what, you're right, send your phone here we will repair it.
The unlocked bootloader DOES NOT affect hardware, they can't deny that statement!

I was worried too, but i didn't want to admit it is my fault, because it's not! It's their fault and they must repair it.
So my nexus 5x has shut off and just won't turn on, tried all the tricks i have learned over the years, from cords to button combos, I am chalking it up to the motherboard. I have called LG they referred me to google google referred me to lg, when lg decided they wanted me to send it in they said wow this international we don't have parts for this.... I said can you send me the number to international repair they said we don't have that.... seeing that this website is world wide could someone think of a way lg might accept my repair or do i have to send it overseas if so does anyone have a number for that? Thanks in advance gang
Had the same issue with trying to get a repair. They referred me to their Canadian website for support. Looked like they had one price for any repair, but I didn't pursue it.

My daughter bought it on eBay back in Nov. 2016, brand new, worked flawlessly until 3 days ago where it started having data issues and finally a day later entered a continuous boot loop. I am aware that this is a "known" and reported issue about the 5x (not sure if H790 as well or just the Int. version).
Occasionally it will remain on for few minutes/hours but then out of the blue will enter a boot loop.
It is my understanding that LG U.S. won't fix it at all, not to mention under warranty which is kind'a interesting, considering that with laptops for example, some of the leading brands (Dell, Lenovo) provide international warranty no matter where you are and LG U.S. won't provide warranty for its own device.
Any other reliable place in the U.S. that anyone is aware of, where we can fix it?
Thanks in advance.
Do you really want to spend the time and money to repair it if the repair part will fail ultimately as well. This is a manufacturing problem ...

Don't know, just checking options. What does it mean "manufacturing problem"? Does it mean that any 5x that get to this stage is un-repairable and finished its life, after 6 months?
If it was purchased new, LG might fix it without charge. I bought mine from B&H Photo and I had the receipt. Even after 15 months, LG replaced my mainboard, no questions asked. I went to their mobile phone support website and got a return authorization number. Took about a week.

Problem is the H791 model is not in the list, only the H790, so I can't open a warranty claim. My daughter called them and they asked for the imei number and they referred her to LG Australia based on the number.

I am having the same problem with LG H791 phone purchased on ebay in April 2016. LG USA won't fix it after admitting this is a manufactory problem. How did you manage to fix your LG H791 in the USA?
Thank you in advance! I am very unhappy with LG customer service.
Phone suddenly hung while browsing........Got a 'Crash on LK!' error with MSDOS kind of black screen....switched off by pressing volume up button, not POWER OFF button....phone does not restart.
LG H791 model Google Nexus 5X
LG says this is international version and made in Denmark. LG Denmark will have to repair it. LG USA can't help. Any LG redresal/repair mechanism?
