I have been unable to find a mod or a rom with call recording for the GS3 in T-Mobile. I have seen it available for Verizon only. Secondly i have tried Apps for this and the one i tried said my phone did not support up-link or down-link recording only Mic recording which required using speaker phone and well it didnt work for me.
So if thier is a mod or if you know of a rom that has this i would love to know i have searched yes and I fount nothing specific enough so as it should be my last resort is to ask everyone if they know.
So in Short I am looking for
A flash able mod
A Rom
or
An Application
That lets me record calls.
Also my Sig may not yet be updated i am running Hyperdrive ROM RLS14 with stock kernel.
Last but most of all Thank you for your help and for any devs reading this THANK YOU for your HARD work so others can enjoy it. I certainly do and it is Greatly appropriated. (is my nose brown? j/k)

The deTmobilized ROM has call recording built into it, you might try that one. :good:
We had this on several ICS builds. I'm sure it can be done, just someone has to try it. It's gonna be out of my league I already know!
As for apps, look into ?skvalex? Call recorder. He has a thread here on xda and several ways of implementing it. I believe it should work on our s3.

First sorry for posting in the wrong section.
Lastly Thank you for your reply's, the deTmobileized Rom was what got me interested as yes i used it with ICS and it worked flawlessly running wicked rom.
I loaded up deTmobileized Rom and i had several problems, i could not multi window to work properly I probably gave up on it too soon as my problem with the multi window was that it would not let me add newly installed apps to the menu. For me that sucked.)
I think ill make a backup of my current setup and flash it and see if i can get multi window to work the way i want.
Cheers

Its possible the all app enabled MW wasn't installed. I'm not aware if its an Aroma option but you can check the mega mods thread for the all-apps enable MW. Its in the Applications and Mods forum.

I have installed the detmobileized rom as they say on the op that it supports call recording. I have yet to figure out if this is available with the rom natively or it just includes the patched phone apk libs (whis afaik is what is needed and basically needs to be in a rom or someone needs to make something flash-able AFAIK) I am thinking if the exposed module tweak box works ill try it out. I used it before and the CRT effects work so i hope the call recording works.
If the exposed module works i may switch roms the other rom i was liking at the moment is hyperdrive but i don't like the whole phone rotation (just something that bothers me unless its an app for some reason) and cant figure it out i can stop all rotation or enable all but i haven't gotten the right set of settings to just disable launcher and phone rotation.
So i am learning AFAIK detmobilized does not have the xposed framework natively installed (hyper-drive does) I need to check out and see how to get this working ASAP
As i wait for a possible reply from this post that would make me ecstatic. I believe i am going to first make a nandroid of the DeTmobilized rom (i just did a SD card wipe my phone needed it from so many rom changes) and then i will install hyperdrive and just install the tweakbox module and hope for the best (trying hyperdrive as DeTmobilized is kinda old at 2 months versus several days, although thats not a measure of quality Hyperdrive has all apps multi window already installed as i have yet to flash that.
Anyway im going to try stuff out I hope the Xposed method (sounds easiest) works on both roms in case it works on one better than the other.
Any other rom suggestions are welcome i dont have the time to flash everything although i prefer stick based roms as they usually have everything i want many i can even theme AOSP if i wish but they tend to be easier to work with more functions and they ususally all work. Also currently due to the GS4 and nexus app ports using AOSP based roms just make me lose any touchwiz options
Sorry for bloated post.
Thank for all your help I appreciate it.
A little background on why i need it currently. (unrelated to topic read if bored or if you know about housing foreclosure when it comes to tenants)
Code:
Basically life lol, Ill share it with you lol.
I basically rented a house for the last couple years and recently found out my landlord has not been paying the mortgage.
(other people say she has a drug problem and she has the mannerisms and talks like someone using speed type drugs)
at the beginning of this month we got a notice tacked on our front door
and it almost covered the door so many pages saying she has not paid blah blah blah.
the house is up for auction on the 28th (5 days from now),
I have a lease and the new owners have 2 options one, compy with the lease until it ends or if they decide on moving in we get 90 days
(Obama changed the 30 day to 90days thank god for me sorry for those with terrible tenants)
In all she says things that don't make sense and tends to deny ever saying it
(she may not remember for real)
So for my possible legal matters i need simultaneous recording of me and the other party.
I used Total recall and just did not know how to set it up and was able to get uplink recoding (just me talking)
(i know the legality of recording convos in my state county i have spoken to a lawyer on this issue)
Last thing that erks me about this lady is knowing she was not making payments she rented her other property
(not adjoining but behind my house)
to a single father who has a boy with leukemia She knew this from lease negotiations.
(idk how long he has or what his life expectancy was but as a youngster a friend of mine died at 21 from leukemia)
so it bothers me she would do that to someone.
not only that but she told him nothing and he had been making repairs
(he asked her if it was ok and she said go for it basically)
on the home and spending his own money to make it a nicer place to live not knowing he is wasting time and money.
all i have to say is he was livid
sadly this landlord AFAIK has no other assets than a car to a law suit would be fruitless
sorry i hope anyone who read this is not saying
(thanks for wasting 30 min of my life guy)

Call recording is an option in the mods of aroma installer

Looks like Project Goosh had xposed built in.
Z999 I think has it natively.
Personally I prefer the native kind (at least when I used it on ICS). No extra frameworks, and more importantly Samsung had actually built this in, but it was disabled because it was too many places have all different laws regarding its use.
I imagine its the same in JB.

Well Z99 works fine natively but is lackluster in a rom a want. I remembered hyper drive has xposed installed in the rom so i installed the call recording module (not tweak-box) i think they would work the same but i have no need for other options i simple installed the module and boom enabled the call recording no problem once call connects record button appears and saves recorded calls to sounds folder easy peasy (i spent more time messing around than i had too) I had trouble trying goosh then adding xposed as the record module did not work in all I am pleased all i had to do was simply add the xposed module. (too bad more roms don't just come with it just to make it easy but being a dev is not easy so i understand esp if it was that easy for me to fix) It would have been a lot more work tweaking z999 than adding a single module to hyperdrive. For me Deviant Dev puts out some nice roms. Goosh has some great potential if they add the xposed framework installer and use an aroma installer. Other than that i am happy and i thank you all for your help!
Does anyone know of an closed module or something to edit what apps you see in EPs? I've googled and Googled and searched in the forums and I can't find anything other than how to activate it on the Verizon model.

As far as I know there is no xposed module that can accomplish this. Better to say there is no module jet, because maybe there will be one in the future.
But there is a custom ROM (ViperOne) that can do. As I'm usin' it myself on my spare unit I know that in this ROM you can put 5 user defined apps on the EPSM screen using their build in Venom Tweaks.
Hit "Thanks" if I was of any help.

Hey there well its a bit late but Yeah I know an app that can do that its called Xtended Settings and there's a link to it in my thread here:

Which is great, but none of the modules work for me. I know it's in alpha, so there's work to do. Some reports of bootloops, but a lot of users appear to be having a perfect ride. I had no problem installing the zip and then the APK, and I gave it root access just fine. It's just that no mods work.
I'm asking here if anyone has had success on the G3. Maybe there's something unique to our device that makes it glitchy. There are a lot of Nexus and other devices having a good go. Here's a screen shot with the mods I loaded. Yeah, I know Lollipop has Smart Lock, but that's been hit or miss for me, so I tried the xposed mod for that.
Any G3's rocking xposed? If so, did you do anything different than is outlined in the OP?

There are no G3 "rocking" xposed. It's only a first alpha release, meant for people who know java, art and xposed and are able and willing to help Rovo debug it on various phones.
Simply put, it doesn't work yet. Wait for a stable release.

Sorry of "rocking" rubbed you the wrong way. What if I asked if anyone was wearing xposed like a boss? Rovo didn't present is as something to be tested by a select few here or on Google+. It is more like: You've been waiting for this, and here it is. It's in alpha, so you might well see glitches. Give it a try.
I'm not saying he was careless with his presentation. I'm saying Rovo didn't intend for this to be an underground test specifically for those proficient with Java and art.
I've been on discussion board for ten years or so, and I've always had the problem of using too many words to ask a simple question. In this case it's: Has anyone got xposed to work with a G3 on Lollipop?

Sorry, my bad, i misunderstood you.
Yeah, it's working, as good as alpha should. Both on cm12 and stock 20h. However, it conflicts with smart cover and weather services on stock rom, so they have to be frozen or deleted. It also needs selinux to be in permissive mode.
Modules made for user apps (AppSettings, youtube in background, etc) work, modules like cpu frequency or temp in status bar work, coolTool would probably work too.
Massive tweakers, like g3 tweaksbox or gravity box + most framework tweaks (halo, multiwindow, etc etc etc) need massive updates to work on L.
Sorry for being quite ignorant

No. There is no way.
Is this possible with a build prop edit?
I know there are apps out there that will accomplish this but was wondering if there is a flashable zip or something we could modify in the build prop?
No. this mod is not done in the build prop. The tw launcher itself is what would need to be modded. If you look around you will find the thread by @kevinoliva113 that he posted these mods for KK TW roms. I suppose if you requested a modded Lollipop TW launcher he could probably add it to his thread. there may be other members who could also do this mod and post it. also you could maybe learn to do the mod yourself if you feel capable. If not then visit the thread i mentioned and ask for help there. Good luck.
I think you can accomplish this with app settings and xposed. You would have to be on kit kat. I've tried it and rotating the touch wiz launcher doesn't really work well. Some things bet cut out of the screen. Try it for yourself.

A bit late to this thread but I would love to learn how to get inside my phone and build mods like this. Been waiting on xposed for lollipop for some time now and getting a bit impatient so I would like to take a crack at this stuff and learn a thing or too along the way. Perhaps eventually even be able to contribute to xda and share my findings with others. Where would be the best place to start please and thank you?

My advice would be to search here on XDA. You can find a lot of useful information in the XDA University where the link can be found on the XDA portal homepage.
First thing you will need to learn is how to setup your machine with the proper java and android sdk for your machine. Next you'll need to gather the necessary tools to decompile apk's & jar files. There are several different ones. You'll also need to do a LOT of reading and research on the topic of "Android Development". There are several aspects and they vary in difficulty. The most basic thing you'll want to start with is correctly decompiling and recompiling apk's and jar files and that is just the beginning. Rom building has many things you'll have to learn as well as the proper machine to do so. A Linux machine would be nice but not completely mandatory. Windows works fine but for rom kitchens Linux is ideal. I would not attempt to dive into this stuff unless you have a lot of spare time and the mental capacity to absorb a lot of knowledge as well as have the desire & passion to do this sort of thing. It's not something the average person can just dive into and learn everything in one weekend. It'll take months or years of reading, experimenting, and trial & error. Getting help from those with knowledge and experience is another thing you'll want to do. People generally don't mind helping others but this isn't always the case. Choose your friends wisely and seek help from those known for there willingness to help others. Don't waste your time with people who are rude, condescending or who think they are better than you. As with any new endeavor, you simply have to learn as you go and it just takes time... a lot of time. We all learn new things everyday. Knowledge is king and trumps everything else. Get all you can while you can and nobody can ever take that away from you. And it's almost always free of charge if you look in the right places. good luck!
This device may be a few years old, but its still great. Support for it has almost disappeared, but there are still people out there like me that are on this device that can't/won't upgrade for one reason or another. Sure, Superstock is a great ROM, but lollipop is outdated, and having the features of custom ROMS but on a newer base would be freaking great. I am right?
I may have missed them, but as far as I could find on XDA, I couldnt find any nougat custom ROMs for this device. I would super excited to petition for one of the awesome developers out there to make a new ROM, even if it might be the last for this phone. Or maybe there is one, and I have just been much to dense to see it. Let this thread be for all posts related to the development of a custom Nougat rom, or sharing of one that already exists. Thanks everyone for reading and participating!

Heads up, read thru the thread carefully, many of these ROMs will require the "T-Mobile audio fix" to get in call audio, that is if you have the T-Mobile variant (G928T). You can search for the fix..
We can run Note 5 ROMs too, check out the TMo N5 or the Int'l forums, like I mentioned, above.

Thanks for the response. I had no idea we could run international ROMs on variant devices. I am having the issue you mentioned, though, with the call audio. So far ive tried two roms, flashed the fix, without any change. Ideas as to how i might get that working?

I do know that theres a few different "audio fixes" available. Im thinking they differ bcuz of the Android version? Just a guess, but what I'll do, is, I'll use only Roms that another 928T user already reported their success using it. I dont want to waste my time and effort being the guinea pig and then, for it not to work. Usually, whomever confirmed compatibility, will also list anything thats needed additionally to get it running, like the audio fix, along with link(s) to get it. If it doesn't work, they'll usually state the issues they found. Someone else's issue with it, might not be relevant to another person so they may decide to run it.
The best way to do this is to simply go to the OP of the Rom thread, in the upper right corner, you'll see a "search" option/box, (depending on browser or app, might see 3 dots instead, its a drop down list) click on it and enter our phone model, "928T, 928-T" or "T-Mobile, Tmobile, TMO " I try to cover the different variations, others here use to identify the phone. Seems like the search function, searches only the exact characters, as entered in the box, doubting it can identify and include similar known ones, so rather be thorough and not miss something. It searches your entry only in that particular thread and lists the results.
If you're braver than I, and dont mind going where no other TMO'rs have gone before and found only the in call audio isnt working, then its likely, flashing the audio fix is all thats needed.
The best way to solve this is, again, with a simple search. This time I'd recommend, a broader search using Google's search engine, type "XDA T-Mobile audio fix," bcuz this will search all XDA forums, more importantly, both S6 E+ and N5, carrier and int'l forums all at once. Then just go down the list if results, making sure that youre in either of the 4 forums, above, locating the download. Last I checked there was 3 or so fixes available, this was many months ago though. Anyway, having more isnt a bad thing, less would mean needing to go back and finding the one you missed. Once you have them, flash each one seperately, in recovery, reboot, confirm whether you're issue is fixed or not. If not, then continue these steps till it works. Flashing the audio fix won't mess your phone up. No need to reset, clear cache or anything of the sort, between each audio fix, just flash only the audio fix and rebooting is necessary. If you want to be organized, you can cross reference the dates of each audio fix, with the current firmware available at the time. That way you can flash any Rom you desire and will already have the fix ready.
Wow, my apologies, talk about rambling on about nothing more than finding correct file, flash your device, confirm its fixed, if not then repeat till its fixed. If no fix is found then, Rom isnt compatible...
Sorry, one last thing, Im sure that you'll help many others like yourself, if you had minute to post your experience with whichever Rom(s), you chose.
For example, "Rom works great, needed this (link to audio fix) for in call audio on the TMO variant"
It seems like you're the first 928T to try the Rom you have so,
report your experience, posts are permanent, its there forever, for any curious new comers, you'd be their hero! It'd most def get a "thx" from me.. :good:

Found a few ROMs that work without fixes and run nougat. Khongloi's s8 port works and has some of the best features I've ever had on this phone, but is heavy on the battery. AndroidSword's NFuel XL runs fast and light, but doesn't have edge features. The original NFuel also has full support for 928T, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm also working on my own custom ROM now since every ROM I tried was missing something I wanted.

I've just finished cooking a second version of my custom rom. Haven't had any issues so far. It's Called TrueStockN.
Here's a list of ROMs I was able to get working for the G928T:
Khongloi's s8 Port
Nemesis s7 Port
N-Fuel
TrueStockN
These are just Nougat roms I that worked for me off the bat, no additional audio fix required. Of course, there may be more, but these are the ones I know of and have used extensively.
