How to change subwoofer level? stock JY ROM - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

Hey guys, any ideas on how to control the subwoofer level on the stock JY ROM?
I've gone thru the settings menu and I haven't seen anything regarding the subwoofer. Thanks in advance.

Simple answer, you cant.
Complex answer, if you modify the internals of the head unit a bit and install some other software (cant remember its name) you can.

So basically I should just use my remote gain knob. Oh well, I guess I can live with that. Thanks.

What rom are you on? AOSP or Sense. I don't know how to do that, but I can poke around and see if I can find the correct sound file for you. Just need to know if you're on sense or aosp.

Okay, thanks. I'll look around and see if I find anything. As you noted, I didn't see it in the /system/media/ui folder. Its got to be somewhere though, (assuming it can be altered to begin with)

any luck ?? i couldn't find nothin'.
However, I'm pretty sure it's modifiable, because one of the many ROMs I've tried had a piano-like sound instead of the normal beep, that actually changed notes for each level...
Hey anyone know how to do this i searched the whole net and many ppl ask about that but noone knows the answere PLEASE HELP!!!
This is probably similar to disabling the camera focus sound. I will post a link before with information on that. Basically somewhere in the code it is invoking a virtual beep so there is not a sound file stored anywhere.

Tab S sound Boost, cannot find Mixer paths xml file? Help needed

I love my tab S and maybe this is the best screen I've seen my whole life.
But one thing bothers me that, I've been using the s and note devices from past 3 years, one thing I always did was Boost the sound for Speaker and the Headphone in the Mixer paths xml file.
I've searched this tab for a similar file and have got absolutely nothing.
Any good developer please help me out, if you can find that for it would be a great help

You could install my ROM and use the DSP manager, it also uses mixerpaths though a more serious answer is look at the comments it should point u in the right direction.

you can edit default_gain in system/etc
I thought xml edit only applied to CM/AOSP/GPe roms.
OP, did this end up working out for you?
I can't watch a movie without headphones on this nice device.

I've attached some screen shots to what you need to modify to increase your external speakers along with headphones.
You'll need Root Explorer or equivalent.
Let me know if it helped.
It's best to raise the digital volume it sounds less distorted ...my setting are +12 to all digital volumes and sounds great
Just to to clarify, you only need to raise the digital volume? I'm going to give it a shot.

Anybody tried this, the free version gets mixed reviews but the pro version (£2.00) get good ones.

I have tried that and multiple others. Some work well, some dont.
None have given me what I am looking for which it the ability to boost things like system volume, notification volume, etc. Still looking for a way to do that.
The best that I can accomplish is boosting media volume via a music or video player. If that is all you are looking for then the equalizer and bass booster will work fine.

Audio Balance way louder on right side

I've noticed this for a while and it's driving me nuts. For whatever reason the audio comes out about 80/20 with 80% of the sound on the right side. I've tested with multiple headphones and LG Tone+ Bluetooth headphones. I've also used multiple audio apps including a youtube video that's made to test sound from right/left speakers. Any ideas? I'm running Viper as my daily driver but also have installed Fluent's Lollipop rom via MultiROM and it's the exact same. If it was just headphones I'd think it was something with the connection but it's also an issue with bluetooth. I thought maybe I could just find an app to adjust the balance but I can't find any app that adjusts left/right balance either.
Thanks for any input!

Care to elaborate? A mod to do what? Is this a known issue? If so I haven't found a single relevant post/article when searching via xda or google...

Than why post ? Really.....Post the link or don't post at all !
What kind of attitude is that, like all other posts where you seem to offer help but actually post nothing but random text. Making up things that the OP "might" want to do to his phone.
It comes to my conclusion that you have a very strange way of thinking/posting.
I hope you will at least consider to offer true help and post what you actually know.
Have a nice day.

Agreed!
I updated my kernel to one that works with fauxsound and was able to bump up the left side when using headphones so it sounds better via headphones but no change via bluetooth. Can't seem to find an app that edits bluetooth left/right gain... Still doesn't make sense to me why my phone would have this issue with both bluetooth and regular headphones. Very odd!

And no some devices do not have it. It's either a software or a hardware problem of any kind and should not be there. When it can be changed via audio enhancing software it's fine if the user likes that solution too.
A device that comes with this price "should" be flawless.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure when this issue started but it hasn't always been that way. Viper4Android seems to be the best solution I can find currently as you can change the left/right values via Channel Panning for bluetooth and headphones (0.9:0.1 seems best).
I doubt it's software since I've tried multiple kernels/roms and even reflashed firmware this morning. If it really is hardware though I'm not familiar with the process to get a replacement under warranty. Might need to look into that I guess.
I think maybe when Sprint releases lollipop I'll look into running a RUU and see if that fixes the issue. I'm s-off so shouldn't be a problem doing a RUU I don't think.

Ruu's and s-off are a great combo ! Should give you no issues returning to any
Cheers mate
Agree, since your version has an RUU, run it. If that doesn't fix it, might be a hardware issue.

Redefine buttons on unit

Hi,
I was wondering if I can change the functionality of the buttons which are placed on the unit. It would be great if I could change the NAV button to open not the iGo navigation but Google Maps.
Can you help me?
Kind regards

Do you tried to enter the Settings, then GPS section, and changing there the associated application?
Which settings do you mean? Android Settings or Device Settings (which are secured by the code)

Okay, that might be a possible solution to change the NAV button. But how to change the other buttons?

On my unit I have the following buttons: MENU, DISC, NAVI, DIMM and BAND. I don't know which button can be still redefined, but the only solution (if there is any) I think it could be using a custom ROM.
In my opinion, there should be a configuration file anywhere. But I could not yet find it...
BTW: I have MENU, SETUP, >>|, RADIO, DVD, GPS

I'd like to put a music player on the DVD Button, as I never watch a DVD in my car...

Do you have already installed a custom ROM on your unit? Take a look also in the device's Factory settings with the secure code. Such a redefining should be possible.
No, it's still stock...

OK, then I think that it could be possible only with the custom ROM or by root access.
I'm still on stock ROM too, and I would like to make a complete backup of the original ROM before installing the custom one.
That would be good. But as I'm on root, I should be able to change the necessary configuration files...
How do you managed yo get root access without custom ROM? Which is the exact type of your unit and the MCU version?
I had to sideload some things and install an app to root it - don't know exactly anymore.
Will tell you the MCU later this afternoon
Use MTC-Keys to remap buttons

Pumpkin and maxidot

Hello all. I bought this radio for my Skoda Fabia. I have a few question. My maxidot screen does not show file names, only track 1, track2, etc...if I use something else, like poweramp, it just shows OTHER MEDIA. Any way of fixing this? Pumpkin support doesn't have a clue.
Also, can I install Malaysk ROM for this radio? Since it has many hardware buttons, will they still work?
Thank you

You need to provide a picture of your system screen to be able say yes or no.
Normally yes, but you never know, since Pumpkin is only a reseller.
