unlocked bootloader but command not allowed - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok i followed vital and androplus guide to root my z5 premium but i already face trouble
i already read through about the unlock bootloader n i think everything is ok
but
when i did the command boot image, it said command not allowed
i read somewhere that it might be the problem with my device driver and previouly i installed driver for samsung note 5, now i tried to install sony z5 prem drivers but it still said command not allowed
deleted every adb driver etc n i finally got it working

are you writing commands from the directory your files are downloaded in? If the files are in "Downloads" you need to change the directory in command so the files can be found.

Have u checked on the service menu that bootloader unlock is allowed?
Some networks (O2 in the UK is one) lock their phones so they can't unlock the bootloader.

Quick tutorial for unlocking new Xperia devices. Although there is one on the SE developer website, this thread can be used for users to discuss their problems during unlocking etc.
Warning! This procedure will wipe the /data partition of your phone.
1. Download:
-fastboot package: http://www.multiupload.com/BMJ24IL6XY
-32/64bit drivers: http://www.multiupload.com/0XZV1LXRVA
2. Go to: http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions
3. At the bottom click 'Continue' and enter your IMEI (type *#06# to find out), name and email address
4. You should now receive your unique unlock key
5. Extract fastboot.rar and open fastboot folder
6. Hold SHIFT and right click on the background of the folder
7. Select 'Open command window here'
8. Connect your phone in fastboot mode (turn phone off, hold menu button and plug in USB Cable)
9. In the cmd windows type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
10. If a value is returned, it means the phone is correctly connected
11. Type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY and replace KEY with the key provided in step 4.
12. You're device should now be bootloader unlocked
If this tutorial is too much for you then itskapil wrote a step-by-step guide (and recorded a video also):

Very funny
I know this procedure, as I mentioned it myself earlier to someone over here !
If I post a question here, it´s because i did not work for me
( -> Point 1 & 2 )
You said it said there was no x64 driver, I quoted a post that provides one. The problem isn't Windows 7 x64. I assume you've uninstalled the device and started from scratch?

Can you give more details about what didn't work for you? please be specific and give maximum details so we can help you more...
I'm on W7 x64 and it worked for me without any problem at all so i guess it's not a 64 bit driver problem. if you insist i can give you the drivers from my OS, maybe your's corrupt or something.
cheers
Oooh I get an idea
I unchecked "Show only compatible materials", then I was able to see want I wanted and installed it.
I think now it´s ok, but in fact, I have nothing to flash
what does it mean when it says "it will delete the partition"??

The links that you have given to download the drivers don't work they either force you to download ilivid.exe or another zoom downloader. I have tried downloading and installing both but both don't give me the drivers. Something is wrong can you please point me to a decent URL for downloading the 64bit drivers for Windows 7.

I installed Flashtool, from Flashtool folder I installed drivers for fastboot and my device and that's all I needed to do.
Not helping much
It's all very well getting all snotty and telling people to use the search, but PLEASE keep your links up to date.
I have a problem with my Arc LT15i and am trying to unlock the boot loader. I have x64 Windows 8 and cannot get Windows to see the phone. ALL of the links I have found on the internet, here, at Sony Ericsson and any other place I have found are ALL dead links or try to foist some crapware on you.
I get the blue light on the phone indicating it is trying to enter Fastboot, but Windows will not see it, it appears as S1 Boot Fastboot in Device Manager, but no driver that I've found will work.
Flashtool may be very good, but it only works if you have an unlocked boot loader (according to Sony Ericsson).
If anyone has a Windows 8 64bit driver I'd really appreciate it if they'd pass on where to get it.

[HELP] i can't install S1 boot fastboot driver SOLVED!!!

Hi everybody
I would like to unlock the bootloader of my ARC S , 4.0.2.A.0.42, sim unlock factory and with a generic fw.
I used the tuto of sony ericsson , asking me to replace a file in C:/AndroidSDK/extras/google/usb_drivers , something like that.
So i replaced the file. Pressed menu button and plugged the phone.
I have the choice to select the driver, indicate the folder and it begins to install and suddenly stop each time, saying me :
"Windows met a problem during the installation of the driver for your device"
Windows has found a driver for your device, but met a problem trying to install it"
Android ADB Interface
Specified file is unfound

I have the fastboot.exe file, adb.exe and all the others files in my sdk..
Please help me to solve this problem
Thx!!
Not sure what drivers you found, but the ones from this thread worked fine for me.
Just extract the zip somewhere and when prompted for a driver location, point it to that folder, don't complicate things by messing around with file swaps in the Android SDK folder.
Also, that guide is pretty much all you need, to get your bootloader unlocked.
hi
Thx a lot for your answer
I tryed another folder found on google yesterday and it works.
Files seems to be the same than yours so if i havent found yet and used these ones, it should have worked too.
Thk you, and have a good day.

[Q] How to use other operator sim in Softbank(JP) 001HT (HTC desire HD)?

Hi,
I bought this HTC desire hd from Softbank, Japan and used for 2 years as per contract. Now I have tried to use other operator sim (another country), but showed 'invalid sim'
Next, I 've tried install custom rom (cm7.2)
As 1st step, I have unlocked bootloader using HTCDev.
But this is my failure list while trying next steps:-
1. Tried ROM manager v5.5.2.3
>>> BUT it shows "You must root ur phone for rom Manager to function"
2. (to root) Tried to downgrade (technically update) to Softbank JP from 2.64.762.3 to 2.37.762.2 (RUU_..._S_SoftBank_JP_2.37.762.2 ....)
>>> BUT this msg shown
Error [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
3. (leaned to root, s-off needed) Tried s-off following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221039
>>> BUT "fastboot recovery1.img" cmd asked more arguments (hwevr, device found as "HT12VRX00872 fastboot")
4. (learned to s-off, goldcard required) Tried gold card following http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-make-gold-card-for-htc-desire-hd/
>>> BUT http://psas.revskills.de/?q=goldcard has retired and downloadable revskill installers either crash or cant generate image
5. In alternative path, tried to follow Advanced Ace Hack Kit
>>> BUT AAHK has retired
6. Tried 4EXT Recovery Control 2.4.6
>>>BUT "This app need root access" (refer to step 2)
So, can anyone please guide me for a solution (for using other operator sim)?

If you have used the device for 2 years, you can contact softbank to get the Sim unlock code. That is the best way to unlock your device.

I did. Softbank said they do not support or provide any unlocking code.
Recently I bought unlock code from unlock-zoneDotcom ... but there is no prompt to enter this code (after new sim insertion)
instead asked to enter "SIM network subset unlock PIN" which is neither that unlock code nor pin of sim.

ok, then I guess that your only solution is to S-OFF your device...the only way currently is to do it manually. If you need help just let me know and we can arrange to connect via teamviewer to do it. :good:

The 1st step was "adb shell dd if=/dev/blo...."

One clarification request: does "root only" means root access? Of so, it seems like a loop: s-off <-> roor access
Any help please?

HD and WiFi Voice and Video Calling on XT2041-4 with Verizon

Prerequisites:
You must bootloader unlock your XT2041-4.
Unlocking the Bootloader | Motorola Support US
Visit the customer support page to view user guides, FAQs, bluetooth pairing, software downloads, drivers, tutorials and to get repair and contact us information.
motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com
As far as I'm aware, this only applies to XT2041-4 on Verizon Wireless.
To be clear, the XT2041-4 is the "US Retail" or "Unlocked" (carrier unlocked) version of the Moto G Power. It's available from Best Buy, Amazon, etc. If you bought your Moto G Power from a Verizon store (or the Verizon website) you have the XT2041-7 and you should already have WiFi and HD Voice and Video calling. It's found here:
Settings -> Network & Internet -> Advanced Calling
The XT2041-4 does not have this menu available, so we're going to flash the Verizon ROM onto the Retail phone. Here we go.
Download and install the latest Motorola drivers:
Where can I download the USB drivers for my device?| Motorola Support US
Visit the customer support page to view user guides, FAQs, bluetooth pairing, software downloads, drivers, tutorials and to get repair and contact us information.Where can I download the USB drivers for my device?
support.motorola.com
Plug your phone into your PC with the factory USB cable and make sure you get all the necessary drivers installed. From your phone, select "Android System - Charging" in the notifications bar and change to "File Transfer". This should prompt Windows to install another driver.
Make sure you have the latest platform tools. This includes the latest adb.exe and fastboot.exe for use with fastbootd:
SDK Platform Tools release notes | Android Studio | Android Developers
Android SDK Platform-Tools is a component for the Android SDK.
developer.android.com
Download the latest Verizon image for the XT2041-7 from Lolinet:
lolinet mirrors - firmware, software, iso etc.
lolinet mirrors - powered by h5ai
mirrors.lolinet.com
Once downloaded, extract the zip file, so you're left with a file folder something like ths:
XT2041-7_SOFIA_VZW_10_[version]_subsidy-VZW_RSU_QCOM_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
We'll call it your rom folder.
To make life easy, lets copy the required android utilities into this folder for flashing. Open up your platform-tools folder and copy the following to your rom folder:
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
fastboot.exe
With your rom folder open, grab the entire folder location from the address bar and copy to your clipboard.
Click your start menu and type cmd, and open up Command Prompt.
Once you have the command prompt open, change directory to your rom folder:
Code:
cd [rom folder location]
All you have to do is type "cd", then space, then right click your mouse button to paste the folder location that you copied in the last step.
Hit enter to change directory.
Now your Command Prompt can call files from within your rom directory.
Now type:
Code:
adb devices
Watch your phone for the authorization dialog. Check the box and grant authorization. If it doesn't work, try unplugging your phone and plugging back in to get the drivers installed, then try again. The Command Prompt should return the serial number of your Moto G Power.
Now type:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
And make sure your device reboots into bootloader mode.
Now type:
Code:
fastboot reboot fastboot
Make sure your device reboots into fastbootd. If this command doesn't work, you don't have the latest version of android platform tools.
Now type:
Code:
fastboot reboot bootloader
Your device should reboot back to bootloader mode. If everything is working so far, proceed to this thread and follow steps 4-7.

forum.xda-developers.com
Ignore steps 1-3 since you're using a different rom. Wiping userdata is optional - this will reset your phone to factory settings. Follow step 8 at your own risk - this resulted in a boot loop for me.
That's it! Once your phone boots up, you should have Advanced Calling in the Network & Internet settings menu. To gain root access, it seems as though Magisk doesn't work properly on the Moto G Power (someone correct me if I'm wrong). When attempting to patch the boot image, Magisk says "Downloading" then "Download Complete" instead of the typical "Flashing...". It still outputs some kind of image file, but flashing this file resulted in a bootloop for me. Maybe I'll try to patch the boot image from another device at some point, but for now I have WiFi Voice and Video calling on my (my wife's) XT2041-4. And she probably doesn't need root access anyway...
@clevertrevor777
Thank you for the guide. Is it possible to relock the bootloader afterwards or does this brick it?
Good question. Someone else would have to chime in on that. Why lock it anyway?
@nu_ninja
I got a Moto G Power from Google Fi and I was able to relock the bootloader right after following this guide. I did so before I booted it up initially. OEM Unlocking was still checked in developer options even after I locked the bootloader, so I can unlock it again later as needed.
Thank you Mr. Clever Trevor for figuring this out and sharing.
I have unlocked bootloader for my 2041-4. I have tried several VZW roms but it says boot failed each time. My question is when I type adb devices it says listing devices, but says "List of devices attached ___" and nothing happens with my phone. Thanks for the guide I hope I can get it working. Should I be using android 10 or 11 ROMs??
You really don't need to flash another rom just to enable volte and wifi calling, there just a few build.prop edits if you have root or this twrp flashabe zip: https://github.com/khrj/volte-fix
For manual method root or no root, open up /system/build.prop with root explorer or adb pull it to your pc add this snippet to the end and save it or adb push back making sure it has read/write permissions and voila volte and wifi calling will be enabled in the settings, works for custom roms as well.
Code:
# volte
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true (disable if problems with wifi calls)
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
Reboot the phone and check the settings or you can then dial *#*#4636#*#* and under phone information see if you have VOLTE provisioned.
