I have a LG G4 H810 never rooted or change anything.
It just start over and over sometimes I can see it install software.
Is there any fast way to fix?
Or I must send this back to LG?
I thing that will really take my time.
Look at the box,if SN starts with 505,506,507,508,509, then your G4 is one of these first phones released with motherboard problems ( boot-loop,who dies for no reason) .
If it is,then i advice you to send the phone back to LG.
OMG!
SN is begin with 505
I send phone back to LG and I just get it back today.
Hope problem will not happen again.
I am updating software now. But the is getting hot now.
Is that normal?

my phone is rooted i'm on 13B everything was fine since i got my phone back in august till today i was listening music and was gonna skip to next song that moment is when my phone froze completely after pressing the power button the phone reboot by itself but got stuck on the lg screen i removed the battery after a few attempts it turned on. after 30 minutes or so it rebooted it self again but now even removing the battery it won't pass the lg screen. any ideas? suggestions?
probably the same problem a lot of other people are having. I also had the same symptoms as you, on rooted 13B.
you can try resetting or reflashing your phone but most likely you need a replacement.
theirs a problem with the motherboard going bad, i just had the same problem and lg sent me a replacement under warranty but i wasnt rooted

I put the phone in download mode and flashed 13B KDZ. But unfortunately my phone got back in the bootlop. Good thing I'm gettingmy replacement
It's a hardware issue, not software. A lot of the earlier G4s have "loose contacts" that cause the bootloop to occur. LG has acknolwedged it and are replacing any affected phones without incident. Just call verizon and they'll ship a new one.
Yup, happened to me just his week. VZW shipped another one to arrive the next day. FWIW, I strongly recommend everyone backup their phone to removable SD card using LG's on board Backup utility. If this challenge happens to you, getting back up and running quickly will be much easier if you have this backup ready to go.
...my $.02.
Happened to me as well last night. Took it back to Verizon today and they are sending me another one. I didn't have insurance and no questions were asked. Obviously they recognize the problem. Last LG phone I will own! Unless the G5 is insane. Hehe
Happened to me as well, yesterday. Interesting how this is happening to everyone at almost the same timeframe. I'll take it to Verizon to get a replacement shipped.
I had the same problem, and contacted LG support and they said it will take 9 business days to repair the phone. This seemed like an awful long time to be without a phone, I asked if there was any way to speed the process up and they said no. Thankfully I was able to borrow a phone from work for the duration of the repairs. Considering how this is a major problem with many handsets, I think LG is handling the whole situation pretty badly.
Hello guys,
I have a LG G4 H815 variant which shut off while talking on the phone. I did not install any new apps or anything new but got OTA update from LG 2-3 days before this happened.
I removed the battery and after I kept it back, and sometimes LG logo comes and then phone shuts off. Few times it also rebooted like 3-4 times by itself but did not pass the lg logo screen.
Now comes the most important thing, we recently had a baby (5days ago) and have all the photographs and videos of birth and delivery in this phone. I need that to be recovered, so please help with this first and then may be fix the phone next.
So hard reset of the phone is not an option I suppose. I also tried connecting to windows/Mac and system doesnt recognise the phone
I really appreciate any help from you guys.
sounds like you have the lg bootloop bug people have kept trying and eventually the phone has started

So do you mean to send it to UK..... I called US LG support, they said to contact UK support.... they said, they can only send packages to Uk to send the phone for repairs. What about the data on phone? I need the very important photos of my newborn.
try the freezer method

I brought the phone back to the shop where I bought it, as I had a 2 year warranty with them. They sent it to one of their repair centers and in 8 days it was fixed for free.
I suggest to try the freezer method posted above and hopefully it will boot and you can manage to get your photos off the phone.
In case it won't boot all or just sits on the LG logo, then it is hard to recover as (probably) they have to replace the whole motherboard (like in my case) and it is unlikely they will bother with recovering data. However you may ask them very nicely, but they might just ignore it.
Hi all, ok tonight/this morning at work while on my break i went to do my usual thing of having food and watching a tv show via cartoon hd about 2mins in and my phone switched off.....now i thought it was dead so plugged in the charger but no led light, or screen on to say its charging.....i did a bit of googling and find out about the bootloop thingy buuuuut mines not looping, its swtiching on to the LG logo [i did the bootloader unlocker thingy etc so it says tha in the top corner] then it goes off.......i also get pulsing blue led lights too.....if i press, hold the power button after i get nothing, i have to take the battery out and then its rinse and repeat
Hi,
Same thing happened to me today. I was taking a shot and it switched off and same scenario. It seems that we had encountered an bootloader brick in which our device enters in some special bootloader mode in which when you connect it to the computer in the device manager it shows up as Qhsusb_bulk. I read the whole internet and there is a similar brick with G3 the guys were able to fix it. Even there is a tutorial on how to do this which I think is applicable to our device. I was able to install the required drivers and etc. but there is one big problem - I followed the guide and came into one serious problem - we need a special mbn file so we can recover our device and the sad thing is nobody on the internet doesn't have it still. There are many people like us who got selfbricked G4 and cannot fix it without this file. Please if somebody can help us please share the file so we can fix our devices. THANK YOU !

ive seen lots about the bootloop issue, but the thing is mine isnt doing a loop [i have to take the battery out/ pop it it back in, to switch it on then after 10-20 seconds on the LOGO it turns off

on G2 you get security boot error phone is detected as QHUSb_BULK. on G2 the fix was to enter download mode. in G2 vol up then plug usb.
using TOT method and flash tools . flash stock firmware fixed my soft brick.
not sure about the file you mention, maybe you do need it..

I have the issue. I don't do anything special but my phone reboot and stuck on lg logo. But now my phone doesn't want to boot. Sometimes he detect when I'm trying to charge it but often not. Yesterday I boot on download mode and recovery but today it's impossible... I think I have some hardware issue ? Or software with the bootloader...
I don't know how to fix that without access to download/recovery mode :crying:
Same here. Sometimes it boots into recovery/download but most of the times it doesn't. It's a hardware problem I think as LG officially confirmed that there were problems during the building proccess of the first G4 series. I don't want to sound bad but soon or later all phones built before october last year will get into bootloop. I was hoping it won't happen to me - I'm very light user with only light standart apps with no games and other heavy stuff, so the problem wasn't caused by overheating by heavy multitasking. Anyway it happened and I'm pretty sure it's harware related but if somebody can provide the tot and mbn files I will be more than happy to try the g2/g3 unbrick method. The main problem is that these files are not available for h815. I found on other forum tot files for other variants than h815 So if somebody have the tot filesfor h815 please share so we can try to unbrick our G4. Thanks!
same thing heppened to my g4 this week. i called lg last night and they agreed to repair it. i'd just gave them a call.
I sent mine for repair today. I hope they will agree to repare it even that it's with unlocked bootloader and with rooted custom rom !!! What you think ? Will I have problems with them because of that ?
Happened with my phone as well. It was rooted so i was hella scared if they didn't accept my phone. But soon they told me phone's motherboard has gone bad and will be replaced. Got my phone with a brand new motherboard after a couple of hours.
P.s. all your data will be gone

So the same problem just happened to my lg H815 with unlocked bootloader, am really f***ed without my phone, gonna call LG UK tomorrow, anything in particular I should say? also looking for solutions I saw many people are starting to have this issue now too - any official comments from LG?
P.S. if you have an LG G4 you should start backing up all your data now
This literally just happened in the last 15 minutes to me as well. Random reboot right after I woke up the phone and now stuck on the LG splash screen. Light user here, never did anything with the phone that would have heavily stressed it physically or computing-wise, so I also concur it's an inevitability for earlier runs of G4 phones.
Luckily, I backed up everything through TWRP last Thursday by chance because I was updating Xposed to the latest version and swapping to a faster 128GB microSDXC. At worst, I might have lost a handful of unimportant text messages.
Not worth the time to try to figure out any cheap fixes myself, I just got done submitting a repair request to LG.
I ordered LG G4 H815 and I hope to not see any kind of these issues

Hi,
My mother LG G4 just died last week. And it has a lot of important data.
What is the way to revive it. even if temporary. I just want to extract the data and take it to the store I bought it from (2 weeks until the end of warranty)
The problem is I can't make the phone to turn on. I saw some people having this issue reported that there phone just stuck in a bootloop. the problem with me is that I can't even reach that point. Black screen all the time.
I did froze the phone. and it works for less that 3 mins. didn't reach home screen.
I also tried the Big core disable method. the phone restarted before restarting command in LGUP. and still in bootloop with black screen.
Now I want to try heating the phone with hairdryer. hope it works for more than 1 hour
I encounter the same problem as you (see my post) do. Except LG UP is useless for me.
For what I've read here and there, the method with the hair dryer seems to be the better one. With this you should be able to boot him properly and save the data you want.
As far as I'm concerned I will try to get the phone back to my retailer even if the phone has an unlocked bootloader. Indeed, as the issue is hardware and not software...maybe...

I was rigth to get it back to my retailer as they fixed the phone. So I flashed it again and for the moment works like a charm (even though I notice like a screen remanence) !!
After about a year of replacing my LG G4, the boot loop happened again.
I turn on my phone, got to the launcher, phone starts to heat up and crashes, and the process repeats till it doesn't even get past the boot screen.
I'm using the H818N Model, can this be fixed with LG Bridge, up or flashing?

The last time I sent it back, they almost made me pay for warranty. I don't wanna repair a phone that ends up spoiling in a year later.
I'm sorry to hear that. I always assumed that replacing the main board will not fully fix the issue and this is the proof
The best Chance to not have the bootloop issue again is buying a phone which was never refurbished so where the whole phone was manufactured in 2016 beginning from February. But even then there is no guarantee ...
To be sure if you have the hardware issue again you could try to flash a full factory image but backup your data first!!

If you do not want to fight with LG support about warranty I would try this first:
hair dryer method A)
If you dont care about LG support (means they MAY reject the service due to detection of an unauthorized opened device)
pressure method -> hair dryer method A) -> hair dryer method B) -> freezer method -> baking method (I would prefer baking before freezer as long as u have an oven which is not used for food anymore)
pressure method:
(as u need to open the device it may be rejected by LG support for repair)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-bootloop-quick-fix-try-baking-t3633595
hair dryer method:
A) https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/temporary-boot-loop-solution-to-files-t3554469
B) https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71647715&postcount=41 (checkout the video and the last comments of the writer in the XDA thread)
(as u need to open the device it may be rejected by LG support for repair)
baking method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/solution-lg-g4-bootloop-issue-story-t3322382 (ensure you read the toxic fume hint!)
(as u need to open the device it may be rejected by LG support for repair)
freezer method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/help/how-to-recover-data-boot-loop-defect-t3297766 (~1 hour in freezer)
(The freezer does not require to open the device BUT: it could be possible that LG may reject such devices for repair due to a water damage (depends on several things so this might or might not happen))
Once booted up backup your data as fast as you can. Btw if any of the above succeeds its very very likely that you have a defective hardware again so no need to flash a KDZ then but well it would hurt to try it regardless.
.
My LG G4 SN601 bootlooped after 1 year and 2 months. Because of unlocked bootloader and LineageOS installed, LG didn't repaired or refunded my phone. Only after an argue with local seller I got my money back. LG never again! ... I won't buy anything from them again, not even hairdrainer! LG was a big mistake, they don't make so good quality products like many years in past. I bought iPhone 7 128GB instead. I hope that people in US CA will crush LG and all affected customers will get their money back even if out of warranty.
