Advice on using usb camera on S3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey all!
I have a usb borescope camera that said it works with the S3, its on amazon here.
I am running lollipop on the phone, I747 model. I have seen places where it says only the I9300 and above will work.
Are any of you using these cameras? I cannot get the phone to even recognize this camera. I tested it on a nexus 5 and it works so I know its not broke.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

HDMI support on AOSP ROMs

Hello,
Wondering if anyone can confirm HDMI support on the SIII when running CM10 or another AOSP ROM.
Just got a Bluray drive for my computer and have been ripping my movies to play on my SIII and Nexus 7
Would love it if I could play them on a bigger screen from my SIII and I'm thinking about getting the Samsung MHL dongle.
I'm still running stock but will probably switch to CM10 when most things are working.
So, can someone confirm MLH support in CM10?
Thanks,
~Eric

It did work for me on the older builds but on the newer ones its a no go. It just freezes and reboots the phone. maybe when the JB OTA comes out and they use stuff from that it might work again.

Shoot.... that is bad news.
Do you have the official $40 Samsung adapter or a generic one from Amazon?
I have heard that the Amazon ones are hit or miss with different applications / different phones, etc and to get the Samsung one.
I may go buy it anyway since I'm currently running a rooted stock ROM. Not too bad when you replace the keyboard with a JB keyboard and replace the launcher.

[Q] Connect SGS2 to Note 10.1 as modem

I'll get the Note 10.1 as a birthday present in a few weeks. It will be the WiFi-only version. I was wondering: is it possible to connect a 3G-Phone (like my Galaxy S2) to the Note using a USB adapter or even Bluetooth, and use the Galaxy S2 as a modem? In some cases the bigger screen of the 10.1 will be more functional than the screen of the S2.
TIA.
Peter
I have a similar setup currently.
I use my Nexus One as a hotspot for my Note 10.1 Wifi-only model. Works fantastically.
I'm sure you can use bluetooth as well, but from my understanding it's not as fast as a wifi conntection
USB tethering i'm not so sure about. There's an app in the market called Reverse Tethering, not sure if it works between the SGS2 and the Note 10.1 tho.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.littlelan.ReverseTether.Paid&hl=en
Keep in mind that I have my Nexus One rooted and flashed to CM7 so depending on how your SGS2 is setup YMMV.

This app isn t compatible with my tablet...
Many thanks for the replies. Using my SGS2 as a wifi hotspot is ok for me. So, there's no real need to be sad about my Note-to-come not having 3G. And it saves the costs of a second data subscription as well!
I'm using my SGSII as modem for my WiFi SGN10.1 also. It works fine.
Use foxfi thats what i did i turn on the bluetooth and im good to go but you also need to download pdanet tablet to get it to go

[Q] USB On the Go OTG on Toro

Hello,
Can someone confirm that USB OTG works for Verizon Galaxy Nexus? I'm running 4.1.2 (CNA) with Franco Milestone 6. I saw a bunch of posts of people who have bricked their Verizon GS3s by attempting USB OTG. I didnt see anything for the GNex.
Follow up question: Does anyone know how much current can be supplied from the USB port on Gnex?
Thanks

[Q] MHL-HDMI Output

Hi guys
I want to use my t989 as SNES/PSX console with HDMI output+PS3 controller, or just use my TV for see my series, videos and photos without DLNA of connect it via USB cable. It's a feature I want
A friend of mine borrow me a MHL-HDMI cable (I ordered mine already) and I tried with stock and other ROM's, I have output once with CM10.1 but can't have it anymore and according to docs and IRC chat that functionality is undocumented and will never work. Only touchwiz based ROM's have TV-OUT, do you know which ones support that? Is there any chance to get this for CM or others?
Thanks in advance
---EDIT 2013-03-02
List of ROM's supporting MHL-HDMI
- Slimbean 4.1
- Liquid smooth rc9 (according to thread pointed out by nreaction)

It worked for me on Slimbean 4.1 so I assume it works on other 4.1 ROMs. Haven't been able to get it to work on 4.22 AOKP.

I thought, I would never say this but at least try and use the search function, all i typed was "mhl" search in general section. Here is the thread your looking for though. I can confirm it works for cm10, but haven't tested with cm10.1.

In my experience with the MHL adapter it will drain your batter to basically nothing while using it even though it is plugged into a power source. When you get done playing you're going to have to charge your phone back up .

There is an app that will turn your phone screen off but keep your MHL connection live and then your battery problems are solved. I just can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I have used it and it works great though.
Well I just ordered one so if you think of the name of the app please let me know. Thanks

Thanks for pointing me to that thread, even though I think it's a little different because doesn't have a list or something like that of ROM's in which MHL-HDMI output works currently (from the thread I saw liquid smooth have it)
I will try the recomendations you guys told me and have in mind jrosetto said, thanks. If anyone knows others ROM's with the feature functioning, please share your experience with us

[Q] Can't get USB Otg to work. any help please?

Hey guys
I've just bought this tablet yesterday. According to information I find here and on youtube, and since this is a high end android tablet for now, I was expecting usb otg feature to work easily.
But I've tried 3 different cables and all possible devices (flash drives, mouses, HDDs...) And nothing works. No messages, no lights being turned on on devices...
I'm pretty sure it's possible to enable it by rooting and installing a modified kernel or perhaps some third party apps, But just want to know is this the case for all of you?
Does samsung really forgot to enable this by default? Since all mid range devices have ir already now?
Or am I missing something? Should I look for a different OTG cable, before considering rooting and knox 0x1?
Any help would be appreciated
Edit: oh and btw I forgot to mention:
I havd Tab S 8.4 lte (sm t705)
Edit2: Samsung officially answered my email and told me that THIS TABLET DOES NOT SUPPORT OTG!
I don't know if this is a new limitation or some kind of location based feature or... all I can say is that this is a hardware limitation because rooting and flashing otg enabled rom and kernel, didn't hepled.
Thanks samsung! you pissed me off again!
I am running OTG with USB memory stick, works fine.

I am able to load FAT32 formatted USB pen drives on my Tab S 8.4 (SM-T700) with original samsung OTG cable. However NTFS pen drives are not mounted. But if I root my tab, there are few apps that can mount NTFS as well.
