cf.lumen stopped working? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, hope I'm not alone here. I hadn't changed anything on my device, but noticed tonight that cf.lumen simply wasn't running. It always worked great in the past. It still has SU permissions and I can see they are granted on device boot. I'm on systemless 2.61, if that matters. I obviously tried the standard stuff like wiping app data and cache. I even cleared dalvik/cache in twrp. I hadn't seen anything about this issue anywhere else so I thought it would be worth a post. Thanks if anyone can help!
edit: just updated to systemless 2.66, cf.lumen still not working...
i thought to change the driver. so the KCAL driver (which I assume requires root since it doesn't say non-root) is working, so it appears just the cf.lumen driver is not working
Ok so I checked the cf.lumen thread and found that installing busybox to /system/xbin solved it. cf.lumen driver working properly again now. Still not sure why it broke or why this fixed it.

Which version of Superuser are you running? I have the one by ChainsDD (available in the Market) and I do not have that problem.
I had the same issue. Installing BaconBits will fix that for you.
This is happening for me too, but only on Titanium. I have installed baconbits 0.3, i've reinstalled busybox via the "Problems?" button in Ti, and I've reinstalled chainsDD Superuser.apk from the market. I can't figure out what is going on and I have a thread going on legendroid forums, but so far no luck.
I found a fix guys. Updated SU Binaries through Rom Manager and things are fine now.
I think the SU app I pushed into my phone while perm. rooting was older than what is currently on RM.
I just had this issue about 10 minutes ago where the "Allow or deny" prompt would come up and it wouldn't remember it. I fixed it by loading Superuser, going to the Settings tab, scrolling down and selecting Su binary to check for updates. There was one, applied it, and it's now remembering.
I fixed my issue by uninstalling su. It reverted to a very old version, and it's remembering my settings, even in Ti.

Odd Problem, with LCD Resolution app, help? *resolved*

The app was working normally when i had it set on 160dpi, though then i got LOS for some odd reason, so i restarted the phone, charged it, then tried to apply the LCD density once more, and not it just says " LCD Resolution got accepted ect." From Super User but the app doesn't restart my phone any more :/..
Im in Stock Rom, and Rooted with LosKernel 10/28 update.
I've tried to uninstall/clear data, even clear super user data, and nothing.
thank you for reading, and hopefully find a way to assist me
Edit- Not sure if the waiting helped, but i did remember there was a new update for BusyBox because i saw it on the market, and decided to update it from 1.18.4 to 1.19.2, and after i updated and installed the latest BusyBox release 1.19.3 right now, it worked... all i have to say is wtf? lmao, what is busy box precisely?
I'm still knew to this whole thing, so I'm not sure if this is the main reason for it to have started to work.
Is it?

So now the new Busy Box update is borked??? WiFi don't work!!!

WTF...First there were a million updates to Super User till the dev broke that about a month ago.
Now I update Busy Box in the market today and my WiFi connection won't work properly...Not having any idea that it could even be Busy Box's fault I started doing a serch and others are having the same problem after the new Busy Box update.
And I just installed the newest ota update so I don't have an old nandroid to restore to.
The WiFi will work sometimes but slow and not seem to respond at all other times...weird.
Can you uninstall updates through Settings > Applications?
Edit: Actually, is busybox even necessary anymore? I just realized I'm on McD's ICS ROM and I don't seem to have busybox installed. I've restored all of my apps through Titanium and it never prompted me to install.

Now I am having problems with TB, don't know if its busy box related. Just tried to integrate maps and now it is gone from my phone.
I updated earlier and have had no issues. I dont see how it would mess anything up as it was just an update to the app (which is basicly just an updater) not the busybox binary which is what actually performs all the actions.

Thats what I was thinking. But all of a sudden have just started having some weird issues. Maybe a coincidence.
And now had my first problem with TB integrating an app, but I think TB uses another version of Busy Box so I dunno.

I believe your right, TB has busybox built into it.
I'm also expieriencing broken WiFi after updating busybox last night. Now running 1.19.3 - woke up today and my phone was super hot (110 F), battery was at 80% when I unplugged it and WiFi is stuck on 'obtaining IP address'
I'm unable to get wifi to work on my home wireless where I have WPA secuirty setup, or on my work's wireless where I have no security.
I've been trying various suggestions posted in other threads and on other forums but nothing has resolved the issue. I'll keep at it when I have free time today and update this thread if I have any success..
EDIT: not sure if it's worth mentioning or not, but Root File explorer seems to be broken as well, opening up to a blank screen that just says 'Root Explorer' on top. Have to hit the home key to exit the program.

This is correct, it has it built into the app.
I got it working by setting a static IP. Hardly a fix, but wifi is working now.
I have no idea what the root cause of this is.. or if it's even related to busybox.
Apologies if I've hijacked the thread (having completely different hardware and all) but I believe we share the same issue. I'm planning on flashing to a new ROM soon if I can't get DHCP working again.
EDIT: Root Explorer still not working though, & eventually force closes if not exited with home button.
If you believe the new busybox is the problem just open it up and install the previous version.

busybox is baked into most roms now.

I tried that and it didn't resolve the issue. I'm unable to remove it because I don't have the full version..
--Update (day after). Flashed to cm7 last night and everything's good now. I don't have the patience to troubleshoot lately.

Super SU Request unresponsive?

Hi guys.
I checked through Q&A but don't see any similar issues. I just rooted and installed Cloudy yesterday. Everything is fine, and I granted SU access to 3 apps with no issue.
Now today, any app that brings up a Super SU access request, the box is completely unresponsive to touch input, until the counter hits zero, and access is denied. It's as if my touchscreen isn't functioning, although my home/back softkeys do work fine. I'm unable to grant access at all. I've tried multiple apps, reboots, clearing the Super SU app cache, and I'm not quite sure what else it could be.
Any ideas? I've just gotten everything up and running, and would love to avoid a reset. For what it's worth, I successfully gave root access to Titanium, Terminal Emulator, and Trickster mod. I've failed to get it to work for Xposed and Quick Reboot widget.
Edit: I was just able to grant it manually from within the app for xposed. Previously, it wasn't listed under "apps", it only showed the log. Still, I wonder why the popup won't work for me anymore.
Hi There,
Did this ever get fixed? I am having the same issue on my LG G4 which I rooted with Low Effort. I posted it here:

My issue was fixed. For me it is was an app called LUX LITE doing an invisible overlay. on the screen. I uninstalled the app and it works now.
So i got an app or 2 that does ths go into su app and manually grant access not a proper fix but a workaround
If u find this helpful remeber the tanks button
Yes thanks Brooklynite, I had discovered the same thing. I should have reported back. It was Lux doing it for me. I'm able to quickly disable and re enable the app from the notification bar though, so it's not really a problem anymore, once I knew the cause.

All apps which overlay the screen will have this bug. It also occurs when trying to install an app. It's quite well known. Hopefully they will have fixed it with Marshmallow.

Im lost trying to root my samsung galaxy a50

So, im new to rooting devices and stuff, but recently i tried to root my old samsung a50. At first it seemed like I succesfully rooted the phone, but then i found out magisk wasnt working correctly. I found out that zygisk was the problem, so i googled and tried some fixes. After a while I got stuck in a bootloop. The next day I got everything working again (including zygisk) by doing a full reset and trying again. Then, when I tried to add apps to the zygisk special list (or something like that i forgot what its called), i rebooted my phone because it said i would have to do that to make my changes work. After I did that everything has stopped working. Root checker doesnt even confirm that the phone is rooted at all and magisk, zygisk and ramdisk dont seem to be working either if i look at it in the magisk app.
Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this? Ive looked all over redit but couldnt find anything.
Btw i used these instructions:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-root-unroot-rooting-unrooting-a505fn.4447651/#post-88239721
If screenshots are neccesairy let me know, but they will be in dutch so i figured it wouldnt really help.
Edit:
I kindoff fixed it. I went in to orangefox recovery and then rebooted trough that service selecting recovery. Now root checker does confirm the device is rooted and magisk seems to be working, but not completely. It still says that ramdisk is dissabled. Any advice on how to fix this? or does it even matter?
My A50 also says that Ramdisk is disabled and I haven't found a way to fix it, and since it's an A-only device it's really hard to flash Magisk. I hope you find a way to fix it
