I just unlocked my sprint for domestic use but i want it to able UMTS or 3G only? other than GSM/UMTS
any way i can do that or any mod for it?

Whenever I switch to a Jellybean ROM, no matter which ROM it is, I cant get a signal, even if it is listed as working in the original post. Usually I just cant get data or MMS on Sense 4/4.1 ROMs, but with JB I dont get any. Does anyone know whats wrong?
Make sure you have the correct APN settings for T-Mobile.
BTW doesn’t T-Mobile use 1700/2100 AWS band for 3G data? One X doesn’t support 1700Mhz, so I don’t think you can get 3G on it, only the older terribly slow 2G data service.

Yeah, I know I wont get 3G. I dont get any cell service at all. No calls, no text.
How do you set 3G data only, dont want to use LTE to safe battery life.

In mobile networks switch network mode to wcdma only.
Edit: could be hspa only, depends on your model.
4g is not lte by the way. If youre on lte it says lte not 4g

lte is 4g on most roms that I have seen. Although I never used the lt28at just the lt28i and lt28h where hsdpa+ is called h+ and lte is called 4g.
There should be a toggle that you can download that will be able to click 2g 3g or 4g. I know on miui there is a toggle for that.
If you're using a Lt28at like me, you can't toggle anything but LTE. SInce the boot loader is locked it will give you the option to pick a different frequency, but will automatically revert back to LTE. Sucks.
The version i have only give me LTE data, or no data at all.
It is locked to rogers.

No. Your boot loader is most likely locked also. You can only choose LTE. The only other option is to find the APN setting for 3G and enter it in your mobile networks and choose it. It will only use 3G but your phone will always search for LTE by default. You will save some battery by going that route. I don't know what the 3G apn for Rogers would be, however or if there is one. AT&T has a separate apn for LTE and 3G. Maybe someone else here knows more...
Yea, i just found out this can not be unlock... thinking android can be unlock easily since my last 2 phones can do it.
I will find the 3g apn.
Hopefully someone can find a way to unlock it and use other rom..
Hi guys, I'm the owner of the LG E980 by AT&T. I'm using it with the Telcel provider in Mexico, and i just can't change the network between 2g, 3g and 4g, or cdma and lte.All the time seems work on 4g or LTE mode. I've tried using the option in the dialer *#*#4636#*#* but in this options doesn't exist any option to switch this kind of networks. I wish any of you guys could help me. Thanks.

AT&T Likes to lock that kind of thing down. Telcel is not cdma I think you mean WDCMA which is 3G.
Anyway if You have a PC and some good computer skills check out my thread to flash the Telcel rom on your E980 and the option under mobile networks is there and working thats the rom I use on my AT&T E980

Currently I'm not being able to get the 4G network and in mu country they're using the 1800 frequency (LTE 1800).
Is there a way to change it in the settings so as I can get hold of the 4G?

You should get 4g on the 1800 frequency. You can change between 3g and 4g in mobile data settings. However even if your network has 4g it will display 3g if you are not in a strong 4g signal area. It is the same here in the UK, 4g is fine where I live but I go over a bridge 5 minutes walk away and I can only get 3g! On some networks you need a new sim card for 4g to work as I did. Also do you have the correct APN settings for your network?
Yes I have the correct APN; otherwise if it's wrong I won't even get any data connection. Yes, I might be in a region where it's weak or unavailable but when I'm in a region fully covered by 4G, just outside the HQ of Orange, I still don't get it.
Try using mtk engineering mode app from play store(by go! or themonster) to force LTE - it's under telephony/network selecting.

i have just bought unlocked verizon z play to use with docomo carrier in japan. because of lte bands are difference, i cannot use lte network. so i used 3g,4g fix app on play-store trying to access lte network. afer trying change network type and lte bands, my phone now cannot find out any docomo service, its just no service. when i search service manually, the phone find out softbank and y-mobile service but no docomo service. whats problem with my phone? any ideas?
is there any way to use lte network in japan?

after trying alot of method, i can fix my z play at last. just simply insert orignial verizon sim card, wait for about 5 minutes, my z play said [ activing phone, dont turn off] , then turn off, insert docomo sim, oppp! no service error disappear ! can make call, send messenger and access 3g network with no problem. i dont know the reason, but hope this can help anyone get same trouble.
ps: will pay for anyone who can root the crazy verizon z play. i want to unlock lte band to use 4g network in japan.
