So I didn't find a thread for this case yet so I decided I would and put my review up for everything. I myself am not terribly picky when it comes to reviewing; I'm satisfied with most things I purchase. I hope this will help any who are thinking about buying this case.
First off, I love the look of the case. The mixture of soft and hard and the double color combo is what really made me want to get the case. It really stands out over the the tpu and silicone cases because of this. I got the the black hard cover with the gray inside silicone. Both colors were a bit lighter than what I was expecting; the black isn't true black more matte and the gray was a couple of shades lighter, a medium gray. The feel of each piece is nice also, very easy to grip and doesn't slide in your hands.
Now to the protection. This is where my one downside is to the case. I don't know if they all come this way, but my silicone is a bit looser than I was expecting. You can pull on the sides and they come away from the xoom, allowing dust and particles to go inside. This I felt should have been tighter, almost like a tpu case to keep the dust out. But thanks to the outer shell you don't notice it any where else. It doesn't slide around on the xoom and stays in place as a case should. (The reason I switched from just a silicone case, because it got too loose and didn't hold the xoom firmly) I really feel that if I dropped the xoom that the case wouldn't fall off and be able to protect it from any damage or scratches. Also the sides do come up a bit higher off the xoom than my silicone one from Verizon. The raised edge around the xoom makes the case feel a bit different, but I'm getting used to it.
Also, the pop out kickstand is a great feature. It stays nice and flat in the back and clicks into place, which was something I was worried about and not wanting it just flopping around back there. It holds nice on most surfaces unless its something slippery like a glass tile or something. I am able to peck type and it doesn't move or feel like its about to fall. There is a raised edge for the hinge but I never notice it when holding it unless you have huge hands possibly.
All the cutouts are there, even for the sd card! The buttons for the volume buttons are way easier than my old case since they are more defined. I do not have a dock so I can't tell whether its possible to dock in the case or not. (sorry for anyone who wants to know)
Hope this may help someone out there that's on the fence about this case! I would give it a 4.5/5 just docked because of the loose edges. Other than that I feel like I may not look for another case for a long time. Thumbs up to Incipio!
Here are a couple of pics I snapped that someone requested..
Edit: It also comes with a screen protector, which I haven't put on yet.
This looks very interesting. How durable do you think the pop out stand is? Does it look like it could break easily?
I know you said that you do not have a dock to test with, so I posted a question to Incipio if it will fit in the docking station. If I hear back I will post thier response.
I would say its pretty durable the hinge has a bit of give to it and the kickstand itself is thick enough that it wouldn't snap in half

So I was chatting with one of the Incipio customer service people and I asked if the Xoom could still be docked with the case installed and they said no. Not being one to take no for an answer I asked how thick the case was in the back so I can compare with my silicon skin. The CSR had no clue but promissed to email me the information as soon as they could get it. That was a couple days ago so we will see.
So would you be so kind to measure how thick the case is in back? Just for reference the silicon case is about 2mm thick. If I were to make a complete guess I bet this case is about 3-4mm thick. If I can find out how thick it is, I can artificially make my silicon case thicker to match and see if it will still dock.
I really like the looks of this case and the built-in stand is a nice feature, I just would hate to have to take it out of the case every night when I put my Xoom in the dock to charge.

I got this too but I went for white and black, thought it looked cooler. It's not just you by the way, the sides are very loose. I think the best thing about this case is the kickstand. It stays put and I can actually Swype something on it. The angle is perfect for viewing content and it makes the device feel more snug and easier to grip. I think this is the best case thus far for the Xoom. It has a stand and it makes the device feel so much more safe.

Well glad it isn't just me..
Btw, do you have the dock for the xoom? I am tossing around the idea of getting one, but if it doesn't fit with the case..
Confirmed the case will work with a standard dock if you remove the adapter plate from the dock.
yup i just got the speaker dock and it works without the case adapter though it is a bit loose.. wish they would've made the case adapter without the front goove/ledge bc it would fit if that wasn't there..
I do not have my dock here, but is it the thickness of the case that causes the problem or the lip on the front of the adapter plate? If it is just the lip that could easily be sanded/cut away.
I think it may fit if it didn't have the lip but the thickness on the bottom may make it too thick to plug in all the way anyway

does xoom with this case fit on speaker dock?
Posted before I saw the other responses. The dock comes with a cutout for an encased Xoom but does not fit the Kevikev leather case (that I like otherwise). Wish there was a case I could just leave on the Xoom docked or closed up to carry around...
Thx

No protection for the bottom part of the tablet. Closing the case does not ensure the screen is actually protected as the part the screen is covered with can slide off of it. Dumped it quickly.

I do agree with some of the comments above however it is my case of choice. I sold a quality noreve leather case and stuck with the original Samsung book cover case as my daily driver with a solution to full protection using another protective case along with it.

You compromise portability by using two of those together. Check the one that was made by Samsung for Galaxy Tab 10.1 with a flap over the bottom part of the device and see how you could avoid using two cases instead of one.
Thank you for your feedback! Where do you get the fancy pen? I really like the thin form of the case. Can see it really well in your pictures.

Yes indeed it was a compromise however the weight of the two together was roughly the same as the leather case I had so for me did not matter. This setup gives me reassuarnce that even after a hard drop, the tablet should be safe whilst transporting as it is whilst on the move, that I am more likely to drop it. Once it it is in the office or at home, it is kept on the desk or on my bed without much risk of dropping and then I have the lightest and practical cover for my specific needs.
I have also purchased another bag that has a secure slot for any 10" tablet with padding around it and is used when I need to carry more than just my tablet with me and similarly when I take the tablet out, it is usually at a desk, this also eliminates the need for me to carry the second housing.
At the time of me buying my case, the one with the securing flap was not available otherwise I probably would have purchased that one instead. Having said that, I still probably would have bought a secondary case for transporting as the Samsung ones are too thin for real protection but are the most practical in my opinion.
The moral here is, if you are considering buying one of these thin cases, it is advisable to consider a second protective case or buy a fully protective leather / pu case that is adequately padded with the downside of it making the tablet feel a lot heavier.

I currently have the White GALAXY Note 10.1, and I had a faux leather case (generic) from Amazon, and gave it about 2 months of use.
After that I decided to risk my money and bet on the official book cover (in white, as well).
I must say it is extremely durable and gorgeous. It has, somehow, a corporate look, it's extremely thin and the back is well protected.
The cover, on the insides, has a thin and soft veil-like texture, and it sort of acts as a screen cleaner, each time you lift up the front part of the cover. (only applies to naked screen).
All in all, it's durable, I have the white for 2 months now and it's still the same pristine white as it was when it came in the box.
It's resistant and the writing position just works (no Steve Jobs quote intended).
If you have doubts, well, I recommend it!
official Samsung case is good looking, nice design, ****y quality and protection - mine is getting bubless by time on margins - squeezing it does remove them but wtf?! I recommend looking for something else !
I have been using the case for abouta week. I also havea screen protector on the tablet.
pros:
Very light weight
Feels good
Offers several viewing angles, when it works. See cons
Cons:
Magnets are not very strong and don't always hold it in the more up upright position.
Does not positively close, so it can expose your screen in a bag or back pack..
That said, I've been trying other solutions and none seem quite right. I have a gel case thatI bought to bulk up the tab to fit in a cheap cardboard folio usb keyboard case I have left over from another tablet. Although not very elegant, I thinkI will use it for travel as I can use the keyboard on airplanes, it provides extra protection, andI can remove three tablet with the gel case for just walking around. Just need a sturdy OTG and this set up is still less expensive than the official Samsung cover, unless you snag one of the 34.00$ deals from Amazon.
I've also tried the BT keyboard cover. Someone just needs to make one, who had actually useda tablet. Put the same clips in both sides so you don't have one that interferes with the space bar, make the shift and cap keys smaller so the keys can geta bit bigger and fall under you fingers, providea deeper trough so the tab is steadier and the back rest can be redesigned to help with that. I'm sure ZAGG will figure it out.
Finally because of the cons of the Samsung, I am thinking of ordering one of the knock offs that has the flap that closes on the back like the one for the tab10. I think I've seen it where the while thing, flap included, rolls like the iPad cover.
Finally, Samsung needs to work out the magnet thing, offer a smart cover, which should at least be possible with the phone variants.
I guess the simple answer to you question is mixed feelings about the official cover.

I ordered two knockoffs for wife and I. When it gets in from China, official covers go back to Best Buy. They offer virtually no protection and are so not worth the $50 each I paid for two.
I have a question to book cover owners: is it possible to rest your wrist on the tablet while taking notes when book cover is in the position like on the attached screen shot? Or your hand is to heavy and you and the magnet will slip of the back?
I would say that that position is ideal for typing and not the best position for resting the palm on especially if you are heavy handed as it's not really designed for taking heavy loads.

That's not good to hear - that case was next on my shopping list :/
I'm looking for a case that could handle my wrist when taking notes in a position like on the previous screen shoot, probably I will take a look at this one: puro case unfortunately it looks like no one from xda forums is using this one :/
One thing I notice with this case is that it does not cover the camera. I really like that. If you pick it up please review it!

I can confirm that yes when the case is folded the back camera is covered. In order to take a picture with back camera you would need to hold up the flap while pushing the on screen capture. Not as difficult as it sounds but you look stupid doing it. I mean if your taking pictures in public with your tablet you look like a tool already so it shouldn't bother you to much. Ill get a picture on here soon.

Just sold my G Tab 10.1 and picked a 10.1 Note. I've been searching through this forum with no luck so thought I'd ask. Does anyone, hooefully Samsung make a book cover case that is the same as the Tab case? All I have seen is the magnetic book cover but it just lays on the screen. The samsung case I had for my Tab was magnetic as well but had a flap on it that folded over and held it all together.

Your correct there is a Galaxy Note 10.1 Magnetic Book Cover, Gray. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EFC-1G2NGEGSTA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijrpRzV7V3U
Watch video ... your right no magnet on the front only on the back. This could be due to the fact that magnets can cause the S Pen function to go screwy, so your better off without magnets near the screen.
.
I have that case. I'm actually looking for one just like I hsd on my GTab. Their is a magnetic "clasp" that holds it together. Example here - http://reviews.us.samsung.com/7463/...-tab-10-1-book-cover-case-reviews/reviews.htm

There is one just like that for the Note 10.1, but it doesn't seem to be readily available in the states.
I saw an eBay listing for buying it from China a few days ago while case shopping, but I can't seem to find it again atm. I'll dig through my history and see if I can locate it.
Edit: search for "NEW Ultra Slim Case Cover For Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 N8010 Black" on eBay (I'll pm a link) It's about $12
Also, I'm a long-term reader, but new poster so it won't let me post a link to the YouTube video that shows it until I've posted 10 times. Blargh.

Just be careful with those cheap cases from ebay that look like the Samsung book cover (with no extra flap). They are knock-offs and the quality is horrible. There is no microfibre on the inside of the flap, just the same vinyl/plastic material as the outside. The magnets are too strong, so they interfere with the spen. The pen won't write within the 1 inch strip exactly on top of the magnets. You can also tell exactly where the magnets are by the sunken circular areas in the back part of the cover. The flap itself is very stiff and when you try to keep it closed it presses on the power button and causes restarts. I've bought one but I've requested a refund and I now have an original Samsung book cover on the way. It should arrive tomorrow.
This looks possibly promising. http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-Fit-Folio-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B0088I9AX4/ref=pd_sim_e_2

Lots of people linked that one as their favorite in the original, now 50 pages long, case thread. (Worth reading through to get people's opinions on practically every case that has come out.)
The only downside I see is the clip on the front could get in the way if you wanted to use a BT keyboard on the case or if you wanted to fold the case back and use it flat on a desk.
The plus side to the clip is there are no magnets, and it leaves the tablet at a nice angle for typing in landscape mode.

Wow, i like this. but i dont understand why all the samsung made stuff has the fold on the wrong side. when holding like a book, the power button is in a very awkward position. Nearly every 3rd party case flips the device so the power button is in the top right not lower left. I reach for that more than my S pen.
Does anyone have httpFolio Stand Hard Case This case? im leary on an Ebay item i cant get anywhere else.... ie no reviews.
So im torn between This from Poetic or this from Moko. I typically dont like the leather on top of the edges look, but I like all other aspects. anyone have an opionion on either?
I dont mean to hijack the thread, but it seems relevant

I'm pretty sure that eBay one is the same case that The Apostle linked to earlier via Amazon I think both may be knock offs, but either way they cover the charging port when closed. One of the 3 Amazon reviews says teh magnets interfere. YMMV.
As for the ones you linked. I've just finished reading the Cases thread and possibly every review for all the Note10.1 cases on Amazon in my search for a perfect case, so I'll share what reviewers have summarized about them:
The MoKo has an elastic closure and pen loop that the Poetic doesn't have.
It also has a nice open spen slot (at the expense of leaving that corner unprotected from a drop.)
It leaves all ports uncovered and you can charge while it's closed.
Weight: 9oz
The Poetic has more card slots and a magnetic closure (which can supposedly sometimes interfere with the spen)
It offers more coverage for the corner with the spen (which I like) at the expense of making it harder to remove.
It also covers the SD card slot with the case. (Which is no big deal if you leave it in, but if you swap them a lot to transfer camera photos like I do, you would have to remove it from the case.)
Weight: 9.9oz
The Poetic was crossed off my list (due to the blocked SD slot), but the MoKo is still on it even though I was hoping to find a case with an uncovered bezel.

Box wave recently posted this case on their site http://www.boxwave.com/google-nexus...ssic-book-google-nexus-5-case/bwpdd/mmp-zcmf/
I have the nexus 4 version of this case and the quality and durability is excellent. It really looks like an old bible or other classy looking book. This makes it the extreme opposite of a slick minimal case, but hey, that's not what you want anyway
There are a few things to be aware of though.
1) you can't adjust the volume while its in your pocket. The volume buttons are not accessible while the case is closed, so the phone has to be taken out of your pocket, flap opened, then volume adjust.
2) holding the phone/case in one hand feels really bulky since the flap is folded back on itself. The case is an inch thick, so holding that in hand is kinda ick, unless you really like a big beefy grip on your phone.
3) doesn't have auto sleep/wake.
These are my experiences with the n4 version. Despite the shortcomings, I still recommend this case if you want a wallet case with no magnetic flap to get in the way and don't mind that its very large and bulky.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Some other details to note:
Drop protection is high. It absorbs high impact extremely well since it's basically a glove made of cardboard and leather.
The cards fit just fine in the case, however they do directly contact the screen. I don't think plastic cards can damage the screen but I use a screen protector anyway.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting this case. I've never owned a wallet-style case, and I've got a couple of questions for you:
1) How well does it fit in a front jeans pocket? Is it a pain to get out on short notice?
2) I imagine it being sort of tricky to actually hold your phone up to your ear in this case. Is that the case?
Thanks in advance!
1) depends on how tight your jeans are the case I have is about an inch or two thick... I guess try putting 2 fingers side by side in your pocket (sideways duh). That's About the thickness.
2) its not hard to hold at all... Maybe even easier since it now basically has a giant handle. It is large in the hand though... Not thin and sexy.

Thanks for the info! I'm used to carrying my phone full-time in my front pocket, but this may not work for me. OTOH, it's so cool-looking I may just have to find another way to carry it around.
What do the other cases use to wake the device when opened? Is it just a magnet to enable the sleep/wake feature?
I had the rearth wallet case for my N4 and looking to get this one for my N5 because it's one of the only one that doesn't have a clasp and looks like it's built well.
Only thing is it's out of stock until the 20th.
This is basically exactly what I was looking for! I have a similar case for my HTC One by Zenus (this one), but their case for the N5 is missing the area where you can put your bills in. This book case you mention does have this unless I am mistaken?
Another question: how hard is it to take the phone out of the case? I would like to only use the case when I'm on the road, so when I'm at work or at home I will regularly take the phone out of the case, so this should be a painless process.
Yeah it has a place for bills.

I got mine the other day but I didn't like the part the phone fits into. While it's nice the opening area for the power button also includes access to the Sim tray, I didn't like how the "lip" part was too close to the power button. Also the lip part would peel off my anker tempered glass screen protector whenever I squeezed the sides. So I replaced it with a poetic case I had.
I used a utility knife to cut it off and this Glue Dots adhesive I found at home depot.

I purchased one of these a week ago and came in today, it's the official AT&T / LG flip cover with wireless charging and NFC.
Came in today, in a plastic bag inside a padded envelope. Works great, feels great, definitely the real thing.
Don't mean to sound like an ad, it's not my listing, but I've seen people getting replacement back covers without Wireless charging for $30+shipping, so this at $20 is a steal!

One question, if I hold the phone or sit the phone on the table, back side down, the front flip cover part doesn't stay all the way shut. The right side is about 1/4th inch up off the screen. The auto screen on/off still works but it'd be nice if the cover stayed "tight" on the screen. Though I understand there is no magnet or anything on the far side so it may not be possible, is it... possible?
" the front flip cover part doesn't stay all the way shut. "
That's probably why it was a RETURN aka REFURBISHED and why there was only one of it. Discounted.
I just bought 2 from the same seller (extra one by accident, hope this seller a4c will let me return it for refund. He didn't even responded to any of my email telling him to just send one). I want to know what do you think of this flip case overall, since you've been using it for a while by now. Does it protect the phone from accidental drops well? I'm thinking I'll have to bind the cover with a large rubber band or something to keep it from opening up when it drops. Right now I'm using am Abecus flip case. It works okay, but holding it in my hand is kind of awkward and tiring. I'm hoping to do better with this lg flip case.
Yeah I'm also searching for a nice smart case for the G Pro and would love your feedback
I just got mine today, and I must say,I'm kind of disappointed. This flip cover case offers no real protection to the phone what so ever. The cover itself may protect the screen from scratches in the pocket or bag, but I already have a screen protector for that. It's really just a lg e980 back cover with a screen cover flap attach to it. There is no protection to the four corners of the device if the phone falls. The battery most likely to come out if the fall is a hard one. The flap itself doesn't attach to anything, there isn't a magnet or a button to keep the flap close. The overall appearance of the phone with this case, is just like the original phone with a black plastic screen cover, but it does give a smart look. Earlier the op mentioned that the cover won't stay tight. On mine it works fine, may be it's not staying tight due to that the synthetic leather needs be worn before it will fit right, but it's really not an issue. The plus side of this case is that when you close the flap, it does make the device sleeps, and open the cover wakes the device. This feature alone is worth the price of the case. Using the cover to wake and puts it to sleep beats the gestures and the button any day. I'm not sure about other features I have heard about, such as the NFC and the wireless charging because I haven't tested them. I may return this case because it doesn't protect my Phone, but my other cheap wallet case is already showing signs of wearing, and this case does look sharp. So I don't know. I may have to shop for another case soon. I will post in a few days after using this case for a while.

Well they just suppose look fancy but where never intended to really protect the phone.

What's fancy about a piece card board like screen cover attach to the back cover? I figure since they call it a case, it suppose to protect the phone. My cheap wallet case offers some protection when I drop it. They really should call it 'screen cover' because there is really not a case anywhere. But like I said, the best part of this 'case' is the screen sleep/wake function. I may grow to like this special back cover after all.
