I tried to do a search for this but couldn't find an answer specific to the EVO. My friend just received an EVO, can I root before he activates the device? I don't see it being a problem but just wanted to make sure. TIA.

Yup. I just did the same thing. The only thing you need to remember is that if it is using any internet sites (I had to use a Java site) you'll need to turn your wifi on.

I installed the following rom on my glide (cm-10.1-20130217-UNOFFICIAL-i927) and everything is working fine but i have one issue; when I make a call through voice over IP softwares such as (Viber, Skype, Tango... etc) the voice is very strange, thick and slow... please help if anyone have a solution for this
btw thought its from the internet connection but I tried many internet sources from many ISPs... same issue, so the problem is not from the internet quality...its from the rom

Hello all.
I am working on trying to figure out a way to do the unlimited hotspot mod for our device on stock software.
Does anyone know if this was done yet?
I am having trouble getting the tools to work.
Before I spend hours on this I was wondering if anyone else has already done this for oour device yet.
Bump this. Looking for the same. Willing to assist in a bounty to do it if other would assist.
I have find a solution that works.
